  • I turned my ugly basement into a dream sewing and crafting room. It just cost me my sanity, sweat, blood and tears.
    This is part one of my sewing room makeover.
    The basement was neglected for a long time and since I didn't have space upstairs anymore, I turned it into my dream sewing room.
    What do you think?
    Stay tuned for part 2!

      @@Seamstressed Hey. So I'm having one of those random clicking through You Tube kind of day. And I came across this guy who converted his van to a solar powered camper so he can work as a professional gamer.
      Change that table to a multifunction cutting and ironing table. Keep the computer system. Add a hand-crank sewing machine from the 19th or 20th century. Go. Explore the countryside...

    I've never seen anyone did copper coating on their wall!.... That's an interesting idea....
    But how long that's gonna last?
    Those copper foils gonna look like mouldy green patch in time due to oxidation, like the statue of liberty.
    Better cover them with epoxy layer or spray some sort of antioxidant coating maybe.

    • @Seamstressed
      @Seamstressed  3 года назад +2

      True. I took that into consideration, though. The color they will turn into will fit into the whole concept of the room, so I am ok with it going green. I did apply a very thick layer of varnish on top to keep the oxygen out, but I also have no idea how long it will last :D

    As Americans we call the "beautiful creatures" rollie pollies and if you can get your hands on some food grade diatomaceous earth, it will solve all of your creepy crawly problems. We have a toddler and a doggo and the FGDE is safe for them to be around. I love what you have completed. I'm completely in love with the floor. It is definitely aggravating to glue linoleum to concrete 😖. We did a floating hardwood floor at our old house and it warped because our waterproof membrane was not thick enough 🤦‍♀️ at our new house someone decided it was a good idea to glue peelnstick "hardwood" lookalike linoleum to the subfloor. Now we have to buy waterproof membrane for this house and lay more hardwood floor 🤦‍♀️
