    I'm on the fence between an Ironball SE and a Fireball 25. If they make a fireball SE I'm sold.

      I was too. What sold me on the Ironball was that the fireball was sold out with no date of when it’s coming in From there I liked the idea of the iron ball because of all the extras it has. I am thrilled with it. I can make the iron ball sound more like a fireball with OD pedal. I use an MXR badass. So I think I found the best of both worlds.

    Liked for the Engl, subbed because of the hard work and getting up early before work to record.

      It’s a fun amp. I’m still experimenting. I’m learning which of my guitars work best with it. Thank you for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed the video.

    I bought one about 6 months ago. I love it! what sold me on it was the overall tube tone plus the di outputs, and then the built in effects. i was coming from using a Freidman run and this thing for me blows the Friedman away. It blows it away because of the features. And if it didn't have those features, I would still like it more due to the higher gain.

    • @larrymartins3014
      @larrymartins3014  5 месяцев назад +1

      Awesome. The features are great!! The built in effects especially the delay is amazing. You are so right, it’s got a lot of gain yet likes an OD pedal too. Engl did a nice a job of making the iron ball and fireball different in gain stages.
      I’m glad you liked the video. Please feel to subscribe to my channel, you hear a lot of stuff with the ironball. Stay well!

      Indeed. It’s good to have that variety in my studio. With a distorted bass and or my Solar with the distortion plus pickups it does the job. I have only had it for a week so there’s still a lot of experimenting to be had.

    Did you consider the Revv G20 before grabbing the SE? It's 20w as well but uses 6V6 tubes which have a bit more grunt in the low end. No built in effects like this thing but it does have the 2 Notes captor IR loader so you can get reverb on your DI signal.

      First happy new year and thank you for watching the video and supporting the channel. Honestly I didn’t consider the Revv but that’s a nice choice. I really decided I wanted Engl fireball but they were sold out so I stayed with the Engl and tried the Ironball. I have never used a Revv but I know they are awesome.

    I've had this amp since last may or something, to me the lead channel sounds awesome, even if it takes a while to dial it in as you said... my main concern with this amp is that apparently the noise gate comes after the fx loop, so if you use an external delay pedal with your lead channel and noise gate on IT WILL EAT UP THE DELAY REPEATS, which disappointed me a lot... also the clean channel sucks with overdrive pedals and fuzzes

    • @larrymartins3014
      @larrymartins3014  9 месяцев назад

      I can agree with you on some of the issues. After using the amp regular to noticed that that if I use OD pedal or phaser I get a lot of noise. Thankfully my external noise gate pedal gets rid of any pedal noise. I feel I got lucky on that aspect so I’m still happy with the amp.

    Ironball se or fireball 25 for metal? I really like the built in delay and gain boost of the se.

    • @larrymartins3014
      @larrymartins3014  11 месяцев назад +1

      The delay is great. The boost is awesome too. Also my fav feature is the noise gate it is amazing!!! One day I will pick up a fireball but my tones have improved so much and the SE has been a go to amp for the album I’m recording. I highly recommend it.
      Thank you for watching. Please
      Like and sub if you want. Lots of content coming

    Which overdrive pedal would suit best for the Ironball, TS9 or DS1?
    Thanks!

      To be honest I don’t know. I have not tried those. The OD I do use is an MXR badass OD which works very well for me.

    Does it sound as large as the Fireball 25?

    • @larrymartins3014
      @larrymartins3014  Месяц назад

      Yes and no. The no ( for me) is it is not as powerful right out of the box. Not even close. However with the ironball ( for me) it took forever to dial in the sound and tones I wanted. At first I was never really satisfied until I did my first recording with the ironball. Which leads me to the yes. when I have it mic up either with an e609 or SM57 it sounds great and sits in the mix beautifully and then sounds very powerful . The two amps are very different. And hey, thanks for watching.
