I can’t thank you enough for making this video! My dog was diagnosed with diabetics a couple of days ago, but since I’m a student at a university on the other side of England, I wasn’t given much information. I now understand his diagnosis and what I can do to help. This presentation has been so helpful :)

Well, good thing you found this video. Shame that you weren't supported with education about your dog's diagnosis... perhaps you'll send this video to the doctor who diagnosed your dog. It's been a year, and how is your dog feeling now?

Great informative vid..didn't know about not shaking the vial of insulin. After a week of injections my 12 year old pup is back swimming barking and alive again. Will keep the treatments up and monitor her for her continued health.

A very good overview of diabetes, well presented, thoroughly explained and should take the mystery out of the disease for the most part, making it more easily understood...BRAVO!

My 13yr old male feline was diagnosed with diabetes 3 weeks ago. I have been doing extensive research ever since. This video has been a God-send for me. Not only do I better understand the disease (my intention for watching this video) I have a better understanding how the treatment may or may not be working and can help my Vet better understand what is going on at home. Thank you so much!!!

My shitzu was just dianosed with diabetes. Her sugar was 410 ! She's also got an enlarged heart . She's 11 yrs. Old and I have had her since she was 4 weeks old..so she's my baby. I noticed she was extremely hungry even after eating. She had to hurry outside to pee and drinking tons of water. Then she began having trembling and sleeping a Lot ..a few days ago I saw that she had lost a lot of weight very fast . She had been a little on the heavy side . She had the weakness and stumbling. I then rushed her to the Vet where tests showed the diabetes and enlarged heart. I feel very guilty. I feel as if I neglected her and waited much too long to get her help. I've been beating myself up over this. And treatment is expensive but if you want your little furry baby to be with you longer do your best to get help for it because they will not survive without it and they are suffering. I pray for all of you who have ill pets ...please pray for my Mattie . And if you notice Any of these symptoms take them to the Vet immediately. The sooner you get them on a right diet and meds the better chance they have.

My Patterdale terrier, Henry, was diagnosed with diabetes and Cushing's Syndrome 3 weeks ago. I am having an awful struggle at the moment with him as he is dehydrated and in doggie hospital for the day. He will not eat anything at all so I can't give him his insulin and I'm terribly worried. Its such a lot to take in and my mind is racing. I feel hysterical and like you I'm beating myself up thinking its my fault. We will do anything for our furbabies but I'm having a struggle thinking straight like I need to be to help him have a proper life. I follow exactly what the vet says but at the moment feel to stupid for the medical facts to sink in. I pray for your beloved Mattie and my Henry and for you and me and the rest of us who are going through this.
God bless and help us to be strong. 💕

I just found out my dog has diabetes a few days ago, and I can relate to how you both feel. The guilt is overwhelming me, and every time I give him his shot I think about how its my fault for not taking better care of him, and not taking him to the vet sooner. And on top of that my husband is not supportive of the treatment so Im pretty much on my own and it's so scary. I have been furloughed from work since March, so at least I am home now. But I return to work on Sunday and Im so worried about him being alone. But like you said I will do anything for him so he can be healthy and happy. I hope I can adjust my schedule accordingly or I might have to look for another job. I am praying for all of you going through this. I reached out to some of my neighbors on the Nextdoor website and they are so supportive, so you might want to try that just for the emotional support. It's helped me a lot so that I don't feel so overwhelmed and can give my doggy the best care possible. Good luck to you and God bless.

@@chivis5662 ....thank you for the advice. Its good to be able to share our stories. I know we shall be strong and gain control of this awful situation. My sister-in-law is diabetic and she was told at the start not to look at it as an illness but as another way of living. When the initial shock has eased off I'm sure we'll get on top of this and things will feel more like normal. It really isn't our fault - I realise that now and we'll all come out on top of it.
Let's look after ourselves too and stay safe. God bless. 💕🐶

My dog was just diagnosed w diabetes. I was told by the vet that diet and exercise will not help like it does in humans. She HAS to go immediately in insulin, Rx food diet, Curve Program every 2 weeks , needles can only be from the vet office etc etc etc. I don't understand how if placing my dog on a diet and monitoring her diabetes for 4 to 6 weeks could be a bad thing... to ensure she doesn't start something as serious as insulin injections and actually not need it. Or it may not be that bad. Or just to atleast see if it helps her glucose levels. Does this sound reasonable?
