The synthesizer work in "The Beautiful Ones" is my favorite. My personal favorites were always the Dr. and Bobby Z on drums. Loved those guys since I was 14 in 1984.
Prince passed away... I am looking for all my people who mingle in my PRINCE circle... the history is so important, I followed all these guys for years. THANK YOU for the memories...
Excellent interview Prophets of Rock! Honoured to see Dr Fink play in Melbourne, Australia last year, then met he & his wife the next day. Will never forget how lovely they both were. He's a true legend!!
Dr Fink is so down to earth! I really enjoyed this interview... I wish him continued success in LA! Both parts are a must watch. "What would you want on a deserted island? .... A tent."
This is a great interview. How brilliant that you, Dr Fink, when just starting out and so young, obviously had no issue to continue your path and ignore the (then) 'colour' restrictions which might at that time impede your career and stick with Prince, the innovator. It is so awful to even think of these restrictions now, looking back. Great essential part of The Revolution. Loved the live shows. Loved this. Thanks.
Gayle Chapman left Prince's group during Dirty Mind because she couldn't and/or refused to do the sexual fellatio antics of the song Head. Lisa agreed to do that and anything else Prince wanted/needed. The rest is history.
Matt started to call Prince's father an musician, but he decided to label him as an artist. Interesting. Anyway, John wasn't a very good pianist. His "playing" was amateurish and pedestrian. That's why he never played on stage with Prince.
R R First of all you did not know Prince father to call him John, and if you did, put some respect on his name it’s Mr. Nelson!!! Secondly, you are not someone Prince would even want at his show. Thinking you have a right to speak negatively and try and defame his father.
@@user-gi6ee8vj1y give it up. In a radio interview early in his career Prince said his Dad was a better musician and pianist than he was....good enough for me and the universe.

+Jenny Marx I know, I am shocked and sad by it. Adored that man and all he gave through his music and life. RIP Prince
One of the best rock keyboardists, synthesists ever. For a guy whose band persona was “quiet” he is so well spoken

Thanks Barbara, incredible people.

Great questions and you gave Matt time and space to answer which a lot if interviewers don’t do.
Great interview, just head on with short but solid questions that allow for full responses.
Thank you for watching
How can there be so FEW VIEWS on this? SMH
#ThankYouForTheFunkyTime Dr Fink. #ThereWillNeverBeAnother

Actually not true at all.
@@michaelhammond7115 have you ever heard John "play?" Did you know there were times when he was he was kicked out of job auditions?
