Q2 Mohs is the hardest automotive paint coating available to a wide range of users. Given the average automotive paint hardness which lies within the range of 3-4H according to the Mohs scale, Q2 Mohs adds up further 3H, which makes the paint extremely resistant to scratches. Extraordinary hardness of the coating preserves effects achieved during the paint correction and is synonymous to a much slower paint degradation during maintenance.

The best detailing video i have ever seen. Specifically about ceramic coatings and how to maintain them properly, here in Mexico is a lot of incorrect information about aplicattion and maintainance. Thanks for doing it for us, beacuse this helps all the detailing industry. Todd Cooperider and Esoteric team.
Thank you very much for such a positive review! We go through tremendous efforts to provide good, quality information based off of actual use.
Best Coating video I've seen to date. Too many self proclaimed detailer's talk to hear themselves talk. Todd, you give nothing but pertinent information related to the products you're demonstrating and its much appreciated.
Sincerely Rick, thank you! We have also seen an awful lot of less than desirable information being put out there on RUclips, and decided that we need to share good information in a straightforward manner. Stay tuned, as we have a lot more exciting videos in the works, and planned for the future.
One of the best videos I have seen about coatings on youtube, period. This channel will blow through 10K,20K+ subscribers in no time.
Thank you so much. Please be sure to share accordingly to help us get to a higher subscriber count! :)
This is why I watch and love this channel, very in depth and informative
Thank you!
This is a great in depth review Todd! Thank you and the ESOTERIC Team! Keep up the good video work.
Thank you!!
I came here from Obsessed Garage. Needless to say I will be purchasing my Mohs kit from you guys in the coming month or two. You guys are amazing!
Thank you, and glad to hear you're enjoying our video series!
Thanks for another great video Todd! This is the channel I trust the most for detailing info on RUclips. I'm in the process of switching from sealants to coatings and this seems like a solid choice. Thanks for the info.
Great to hear Patrick, and we're quite happy to hear that you're using ESOTERIC as your go-to source. We have plenty more videos to come in the future so stay tuned...
I love that you guys have such a large online presence AND are very local to me. You're in New Albany, I'm in Dublin. It would appear I need to make a trip out to your shop here soon.
Stop by anytime!!
Excellent video! From product reviews to product documentaries like this, so much to be learned from them all. Appreciate all the sharing of knowledge and techniques...very helpful.
Thank you sir! :)
Great video. Did it step by step as you out lined. Helped immensely in getting it done correctly. Two coats on my 2018 Audi SQ5 used the entire bottle. What as result!. Glass like finish on my black gold flake colored Audi. The car stays cleaner longer. Doesn't attract dust. Water runs right off no water spots after a rain. Only problem is the have a cabinet full of waxes and sealers that will not get used. Oh well the price of progress. :)
Glad to hear that it worked out well for you!!
Thanks for producing such a high quality video, undoubtedly the very best how to video I have seen.
Top draw!
Cheers from Australia
Thank you for the positive feedback, and glad to hear that you like it!
Love your product reviews...I've been in the business 28 years now ...very informative.ive used many of the products you review and all your reviews are dead on.Keep up the great videos👍
Thank you kindly Mike, and glad you're enjoying them. We don't believe in over-hype, or crazy claims. We test, we use, and we share our experiences with everybody.
Do you think this is too much for someone to tackle on a new vehicle who has never even waxed before?
Love the tip to cut the applicator, awesome review as always 👌 thanks
Thanks, and glad you were able to learn something new in the video.
Great video! I will have to watch again and again to capture all the tips and info. Thanks!
Thank you and yes...there's a LOT of information in this video!
VERY thorough, clear, and informative. Great video!
Great job Todd, this was a good one. Very informative.. I just did two small vehicles with one kit of Mohs, 2 coats on the black car and 1 on the metallic silver. Good value! Another misconception out there is that a coating will fill in some swirls and scratches. Not really the case, for best look like you said, paint correction should be done when possible. Keep them coming!
Thank you George!
Awesome video!!! I have been watching your videos for about six months now and you have become my go to on product info and tips, your knowledge and experience is superb!!!! I am currently in the middle of a full paint correction on my 1966 Pontiac GTO and I have been using Jescar compound and polish. So far the results are insane, the clarity and ease of use are great! I plan on following it up with Gyeon Mohs and Gyeon Booster. So this video was very helpful. I am super excited to see final result! Once again thank you Todd and your team at Esoteric!!!
Thank you, and glad to hear that you have found all of the videos to be helpful. Please be sure to send us an email when you're finished...would love to see that GTO!
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing I will get those pics to you as soon as I am done!
When do I use gyeon Q2 moths coating after I clay - polish - glaze- seal and was?
This video is Gold Todd/Esoteric!!
Love these longer vids.
Keep it up!
Thank you! Please be sure to share accordingly...
Great video presentation, Todd! It's clear you have a passion for cars and detailing them with excellence! Appreciate the hard work you put into this video. Very informative and helpful! Gyeon is definitely changing the car detailing game for the better! Keep up the great work and thanks for bringing Gyeon to the US market! 👍
Now that’s a detail video omg. Amazing man. Well done. And packed full of good learning. Thank you so much. You rock!!!❤️👍🏻
Great instructor 👍 autometric Collision could have use you when they was around,Larry Smith was an awesome owner
Fantastic as always Todd. Super informative.
Thank you Clint!
Todd those red microfibre towels are the nicest I ever used. Can i get them here in Australia?
wow i like how u explain the information on this coating now im really going to invest in this product for my company
Thank you, and please be sure to let us know how we can help you out! We have a lot of Gyeon videos, so please be sure to watch them as well as there are some spectacular maintenance products in the line!
Todd,
Two questions:
1. Can you speak specifically as to the makeup of cure? Is it a “hyper” spray sealant or wax type product?
2. After applying cure do I️ need to throw away the towels? Your answer to question one may make this question redundant
My only frustration with coatings and considering them is the mysteries surrounding them.....you nailed this video. Thanks!
Thank you Ben...we try our best to bring you the important information without the fluff or the hype. As for your question about Cure, and without trying to pretend to be a chemist, I would call it more of a coating-lite than a sealant or wax-type product. We even recommend diluting Cure 50/50 as it makes it easier to use, and you can literally make it part of every wash process. And no, you do not need to throw away towels as it won't harden them. I hope this helps!
Well done! This video brings me closer to purchasing the gyeon solution for my car, after being introduced to the brand this morning on that excellent British forensic channel. I will purchase from your site as opposed to Amazon because of the trouble you went to creating this video. Feel like replying to a few questions?
1) I don't understand why a car is still susceptible to car wash swirl marks after having a tough ceramic coating like MOHS added. Are these not coatings that can only be removed by sanding down? Seems like the brushes at the automatic car wash places would be to soft to disturb the surface.??
2) The forensic youtuber, John, tested a 3-part Geyon solution, which is also in kit form, of the MOHS, SKIN, and CURE. I don't think you mentioned SKIN, but I saw your reply about SKIN. If one cares less about gloss, and more about hydrophia action and longer time between washings, what would you recommend for coating layers above the base coat ... SKIN... CAN COAT... etc.?
3) Any comments or notes if these products are going to used on a car with Paint Protection film? Thank you.
Thank you Steve. Yes, we put a lot of effort and investment into these educational videos, and all of the purchases help finance them. So given that, we appreciate the fact that you wish to support our store so that we can continue to develop more educational material.
To answer your questions:
1. "Hardness" is one of the most overhyped aspects of coatings today. No coating is going to be that hard to where it can't be marred by improper washing and drying methods. In our opinion, the biggest benefits of coatings are self-cleaning characteristics, and long-lasting shine.
2. That is called the Syncro kit. Skin is only available in that kit. You should watch our video on that: ruclips.net/video/98NoaubSqVs/видео.html. You should also watch our video on how to properly maintain a coated vehicle as it talks specifically about what to use, and what NOT to use on coatings. This topic is also highly misunderstood, and mis-represented in the detailing space. Most people are preaching to buy more / layer more products. We're the only ones telling people to actually stop buying more products to put on top of coatings! ruclips.net/video/gTZF1nHoAIg/видео.html
3. Unless it's a film like STEK that has an incredible hydrophobic layer built-in, you can pretty much use coatings on film just as you would paint. Kamikaze-Collection makes a coating designed specifically for film, and it's called Film Surface Coat: ruclips.net/video/d1dauU3WhTQ/видео.html
hi todd...can i show your videos on my shop so people can see them? they are the best in the industry for sure.thanks for that...we are gyeonized!!!!
Absolutely! Good information helps to create more business for everybody. Thanks for the positive feedback!
Recently transitioned from using 10000X other products to saturating with Gyeon products. Cannot complain at all!
Brilliant video gave me the confidence to go and order mhos
Thank you, and glad you liked the video.
what do you do when you put mohs on your car, after it has been on the car for 3 years what applications do you have to do.also pure is suppose to give a candy gloss appearance. would you put pure over mohs or before mohs.or does mohs give high gloss as pure.
Very detailed and well made video , so interesting thanks for this!
Thank you, and you're very welcome!
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing You're welcome too, always enjoy watching this channel :)
This has to be the most thorough video I’ve seen on this product so thank you very much! One observation, I noticed that you mentioned you may use Mohs on wheels and exhaust tips but what do recommend for head and tail lights? I have applied trim to cladding and black trim areas already but stopped short on lamps.
Thanks Chris. You could go with either Mohs, or with Gyeon Trim. Both will work well, with Mohs being the more premium of the two.
Great video and great amount of valuable information! Could you please guide me to the video of lighter test debunk?
Big thanks
Thank you! It was located on Facebook...
You mention in other videos that you guys test different products and only sell the best to take the guess work away for the customer. A Lot of people love Carpro Cquartz UK. I haven't seen any of your videos for that product. Is there a reason for that? In your opinion is that product inferior to Gyeon or Kamikaze? If so why? I want the best for my cars and any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Love all your videos.
Very informative video! Thank you for all of this!
Thanks, and glad you liked it!
Hi Todd, I’m going to go with MOHS for one of my cars after long consideration. As you mentioned in another question I asked, I will apply the MOHS to a panel such as a door then remove as this will give the coating sufficient time to bond as per the video it bonds almost instantly to the paint,,,Then a half a large panel such as the engine hood and remove. Thank you for the helpful expert information. Wish me luck as this is my first coating. Also, one more question-after I apply MOHS then the cure as per the instructions and I want to apply the CAN COAT for an extra topper, can the Can Coat be applied right over the coating with the CURE on it or does it need to be wiped down with PREP. Thank you again, Howard.
Great video Todd, learned a lot about the product and expectations. Your presentation skills are excellent! One area not mentioned was head and tail lamps, do you use Mohs on these as well or do you prefer a different product?
Thank you Rich! We typically use Gyeon Trim on head and tail lamps, but you could also use Mohs without any problems.
It's pretty tough to keep a daily driver out of the weather for a week....I guess you could catch a cab to work.
24h. You can drive in 24h. Just dont wash it for a week.
What is the price of the products?? & How many varieties are there in ceramic liquid
Thank you for the great overview about coatings. I saw your other review on CanCoat. What do you think of Gyeon One as an alternative to Mohs?
MOHS is the top of the offerings, and it doesn't compete side to side with One.
Can you give me advice on how to maximise my time when doing a total car coating.....I’m clear on the wash and deacon process but want help on which coating to follow paint. Would wheels be next then glass, plastic then interior finishing off with the 2nd coating for the paint.many thanks lee
Thank you Todd great information
Thank you for the compliments, and glad you liked the video!
Todd great video and explanation. Lots of very good information. As I was watching the video I came to the comment about stacking all these products together. It all makes sense.
If one was to go with Mohs topped with Booster, could I apply can coat down the line to enhance the appearance of the vehicle say for a local car show? Or would using cure be enough and stick with the keep it simple routine.
Thanks
Thank you for the great video
If I have already a coating on my car
Can I add the gyeon coating or can I add a topper on top to maintain the coating I have on my car
If your coating is relatively fresh, I'd just recommend adding a product designed for maintaining coated vehicles. Check out this video to give you some more insight on what / what not to use on it: ruclips.net/video/gTZF1nHoAIg/видео.html
Can you put Gyeon coating on top of a different coating
If it's a coating that has been on the surface for a year or so, then it shouldn't be a problem. If it's relatively fresh, there's no way of knowing if there are any potential compatibility issues until you try it.
What is Skin Q2 used for and when should I apply it ?
It's just a part of Syncro and is not sold separately.
thanks for the video. it's very detail, i learned a lot, one question, do i still need to use wax (Aero Cosmetics Wet or Waterless Car Wash Wax) after i have done the ceramic coating??
No you do not. Please watch the following video for more information on that subject. ruclips.net/video/gTZF1nHoAIg/видео.html
Great video and lots of information one question how do you go about getting a certificate for becoming a certified detailer ?
That's handled directly through the manufacturers. But you also need to ask yourself a question on why you would need to be "certified". Don't get me wrong...there's nothing wrong with that. But too many detailers think they need some kind of certification to get customers, and that's simply not the case. Customers come to you because of your qualifications, skills, and reputation, and not because they are certified by a manufacturer. If you simply want to learn a lot more about coating, how to sell it, how to apply it, etc, we do have a 1-day coating course that we offer. www.esotericcarcare.com/ceramic-coating-training-1-day-course/
@@Esotericdetail I agree my main reason of getting certified is mainly for me to have unrestricted access to purchasing the ceramic coatings which require a license to apply but the one day course you provide sounds like a great start .
Hi Todd, you say that Mohs can be combined with Cancoat but it’s best to wait for about a week or two and then apply CanCoat. Won’t Mohs prevent the Cancoat from bonding to the surface?
No problems with bonding at all...
Todd, does Mohs need to be applied in an air conditioned/humidity controlled environment. I have heard for some coatings that it will not get a good bond to the paint and lose durability if it is not applied in a climate controlled environment or if it is applied in a non air conditioned garage. I am curious on your thoughts on that.
It's more of a work-ability issue than a bonding issue. With higher humidity, most coatings may become a bit finicky, and they need to be removed much more quickly than in an air conditioned environment. So if you're working in high humidity, just plan to apply to smaller sections, and remove more quickly. I hope this helps.
Hey guys I don’t know if you saw it yet ,but there is a “as seen on tv” 5yr Ceramic coating , two bottles for 19 bucks. I guess we are all out of business and don’t know it yet. LoL
May be a silly question, but could you reuse the towels if you put it in a bucket of water right after youre done with leveling?
Sure you could...but do you really want to risk damaging the next car just to save a few bucks for a few towels?
Awesome video Todd. Question. I was told that you could put your MF towels that you use for coating in distilled water and let them sit in there until you are done coating the vehicle then wash them with a dedicated MF solution without having it crystallize on you. Is there any truth to this?
Do it at your own risk. To us, it's not worth it...cost of doing business.
ESOTERIC Thanks Todd. Thought so.
Thanks for another great video just a question. Can I use one layer of mohs and top it with a layer of can coat instead of two layers of mohs.
I wouldn't. Gyeon is very specific about using a minimum of 2 layers of MOHS.
@@Esotericdetail many thanks for getting back to me much appreciated. I'm based in Capetown thanks for the prompt reply and you reckon the two layers will give 2-3 years protection.
Hi I have detailing in Bangalore India. Much appreciated vedio. Got lots of info.
Meanwhile I wanted to ask after coating what temperature (Reason I have seen some video detailer keep heating methods) we need to keep the vechile and why. Great to hear from you.
The temperature post-coating doesn't really matter. I wouldn't put a freshly coated car out in the extreme cold, but otherwise you should be good to go.
What are the steps with a brand new car with brand new paint? Do you still have to polish and clay it?
You don't have to clay and polish before any type of paint. It's just that you'll maximize the looks that way. With a brand new car, in most cases you can simply do a chemical decontamination first (Gyeon Iron), then when rinsed and dried you can go straight into coating application.
Thanks for the fast response
Great video! I've been considering MOHS for a while now and I think I'm sold.
Question, if you were going to recommend a coating for a daily driver that may also see some Cars and Coffee type meets and also very limited amount of track time, would you recommend MOHS or a Kamikaze product?
For the hardness level and chemical resistance, I'd probably go with the Mohs. Do 2 coats of Mohs, and top it with Cancoat...brilliant!
Joseph Brightenstine I think MOHS would be an excellent choice; applied to a vehicle at work last February, holding up great, looks fantastic even though very little post application attention given to vehicle. Bright red paint is always looking excellent!
well thanks for talking me out of going to do gyeon training you are selling multiple products that do the same thing correct ....or correct me if I'm wrong ???
Mohs is the same base coating that is found in Mohs+ and DuraBead. Those two products are only available to Gyeon Certified Detailers.
Hi Todd, is Gyeon prep enough to degrease the surface after polishing before aplying Mohs or is Hot water and dishwasher liquid more recommended?
Thnx
Ultimately it depends on the polish you're using, but for the most part, Prep is all you need. Thanks.
@@Esotericdetail Thanks :-)
So my car was delivered 12hrs after being coated, it traveled about 4 hours along a freeway and had bugs and water on it when it was delivered. I wiped it over with a towel but how do you know if the product is set? Is it too late?
If it still looks good, with no water spots, then you're good to go!
What about Gyeon Skin? The Syncro kit has Skin and I don't see Skin sold separately. Do you need Booster or Can Coat with Skin? What does Skin add? Last, how much MOHS do I need for a VW Atlas and Wheels?
30ML would be enough. Skin is only sold as part of the Syncro kit. You would only need to maintain it with Cure...nothing else on top!
How significant does the prep need to be for a few month old car that has been babied? (Washed weekly, not snow driven)
The biggest part would be to make sure there's nothing on the surface before coating...no residues of waxes, sealants, quick detailers, etc. If you're happy with the paint work, then clean it, hit it with Gyeon Prep, and coat!
Have you guys tried layering Gyeon products like you guys layer Kamikaze coatings (like ISM + Miyabi on the LaFerrari)? Like in the video you said 2-3 layers of mohs would layering 2 layers of MOHS and the third with Prime achieve higher gloss? My friend had just ordered some gyeon mohs and i have some leftover prime from a previous car and wondering if theres a benefit! ( just missed the release of synchro when he bought it )
Well, nobody missed Synchro because as of now, the product hasn't been released to market yet. As for your question, we do not layer any different types of Gyeon coatings unless they're designed together. Given their chemical makeups, I don't think they'd play well together.
do you guys have a Canadian version of your site so I don't have to pay tax and duties
No we do not...
What pressure washing system is that being used @ 20:40? The handle and foam gun? Thank you
MTM Hydro...
Great vid👌 keep it up😁
Thank you!
Hi Todd, one of my cars has Gyeon Cancoat on it right now. It’s been on there just over a week now. If I were to apply a more semi permanent coating such as MOHS or the SYNCHRO kit, should I polish the CanCoat off then apply the MOHS/SYNCHRO kit. Thank you, Howard
Correct...you'll want to completely remove the Cancoat before trying to apply a coating.
ESOTERIC , thank you for the information.
Hi, I had Gyeon MOHS plus applied to my brand new car just over 3 months ago by my local retailer and it came with a 5 year warranty. One thing I have noticed is that water doesn't bead anywhere near as much as it used to, I have to apply cure to get it beading nicely again. Is this normal? My car isn't garaged so is open to the elements all of the time but would have thought beading would last longer than 3 months ? I am also very careful with my washing tequnique and the products i use. Thanks for the great videos.
Andy...Mohs is not known for tight water beading like other coatings. It's a hard coating with a high level of chemical resistance. The beading will come from Cure as you maintain it.
While the protection will remain beading will indeed decrease. Topping it back off with something like Cure is a good idea.
Thanks for taking time to reply :-) The one thing I am confused over though is that I have paid for the dealer only mohs PLUS which on the Gyeon website is advertised as having really top hydrophobic properties. Only the durabead is advertised as being slightly superior. I would understand if it was base mohs but I always assumed the extra layer that was applied with mohs plus is what gave the extra hydrophobic protection and that it would have lasted longer than 3 months. Especially when consumer grade booster is advertised as having up to 12 months. I keep using cure (after every wash actually) and I may invest in some cancoat to give it a bit extra durability, I’ve been put off by booster a little by quite a few negative user reviews. Again, thanks for your help and advice
Thanks for the questions Andy. This adds a little insight to the product for us considering a purchase.
Mohs advertises scratch resistance. So it's resistant to light swirls/wash marring when washed carefully? Realistically can I expect my car to be swirl free after a couple of years?
It's all dependent on your wash / dry process and media. Be sure to watch both of our videos on how to wash and dry, as well as our how to maintain a coated vehicle.
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing ok so assuming car is washed carefully with the correct methods? Would be disheartening to follow all of the proper maintenance procedures and STILL end up with swirls/defects a year later and not be able to correct it without removing coating and another trip back to the detailer who applied it.
I followed precisely, then yes...you should still have an absolutely fantastic looking car after a year or two. Keep in mind that you'll have a bump/bruise - scrape/scuff here and there from normal use after a few years, but following the proper procedures should make all of the difference in the world.
I'm finally pulling the trigger on a ceramic coating, between this or the kamikaze Miyabi?
You can't go wrong either way. With Miyabi, you can lay down just one coat, or go with two for a little extra looks and durability. With Mohs, you have to do 2 coats. What color car?
@@Esotericdetail it's called atomic silver (grey). Lexus GS F. Did the paint correction 6 months ago, have just applied sealant/wax.
Is there a coating that can be used on trim like on whats on a mini Cooper that is not painted?
Yes...here you go! ruclips.net/video/3ROqv5hb9cM/видео.html
May this be used on glass and wheels or do they require the specific separate products - Rim & View? Thanks.
You can use it on wheels, but not on glass. For that application, use Gyeon View!
it's not clear to me the difference between MOHS and MOHS+. Do you advise on using simply the MOHS and apply multiple layers (3 or more)?
Mohs+ has yet another layer of coating that you can't get with the Mohs. Mohs+ comes with two different coatings, both sharing Mohs as a base.
Awesome videos guys! I feel like I learn something new with each one!
Question though: What happens at the 2 year mark with a coating? Is it that studies show that at the 2 year mark after so many washes the coating has rubbed off? I guess I don't understand how you'd be able to judge if the base layer is there if coating specific maintenance products are used and they each have their own hydrophobic properties.
You'll start to notice a drop-off in hydrophobic properties and self-cleaning as well. Usually by the 2 year mark, you also have some other bumps and bruises that the paint has endured, and it would need to be re-polished and re-applied at that time. There's no magical "signs" that it's time to re-apply.
Is Mohs safe to use on unpainted plastic trim such as the cladding on the lower part of the door on the 2017 honda crv?
For that you should be using Gyeon Trim. ruclips.net/video/3ROqv5hb9cM/видео.html
Hi todd, can i use mohs on all parts of Vehicle?
Trims,headlights,bumpers and rims?
ThIs product is easy to wipe on and wipe off?
Remove mohs immediately after appication?
Thanks.
Not on trim...use Gyeon Trim for that! All other areas OK. Apply, let it set for about 30 seconds, then wipe off. I hope this helps!
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing increrible, fast reply! You are the best !!
Can I maintain this coating with polish angel rapid wax? Or the cure is a better choice?
Be sure to watch our video on how to wash and maintain a coated car...we talk about how waxes, quick detailers, etc are NOT recommended. Use a product specifically designed for coatings, such as Cure.
I want to know, Can I apply Mohs on my car with paint protection film, I have a film on my bumpers and hood, i will apply on body of the car, is there a chance I can apply this on the bumpers and hood as well? HELP
Yes, you can apply on top of PPF.
How long after the Mohs last coat before you can coat with Boost? Can Mohs be used on Chrome?
Yes, you can use it on chrome and metal. I'd wait at least a few hours after your final coat of Mohs before applying Booster!
Thanks!!! I will be jumping over to Esoteric's website to grab some supplies for my new 115th Anniversary edition Harley! Referred from Obsessed Garage
How do you become a gyeon professional in California to get ahold of the pro products?
You'd need to contact Gyeon USA for that.
With the 50ml bottle, would I be able to do two coats on a Prius v and a Mazda 3 or only one vehicle? Thank you.
If it's a 50ml bottle, you should be able to get 2 coats each on 2 small cars.
What is the average consumption of Mohs per car? Is a 30ml bottle enough for a car + rims?
Usually you will use 30ml or less for 2 coats on an average size car (not including wheels).
Can i apply a wax over the ceramic coating to enhance gloss?
Not recommended...see the following video for more information on that subject: ruclips.net/video/gTZF1nHoAIg/видео.html
Need some urgent information... Friends from detailing shop asked me to pick between DuraFlex and Mohs+ for my A3, which they are detailing tomorrow.
Which one would you pick for a car that I keep on the street (parking lot) 100% of the time? Thanks!
I would go with Mohs+!
@@Esotericdetail Thanks a lot for a quick reply! Much appreciated!
Which advantages Mohs+ holds over DuraFlex in that situation? Asking out of curiousity, I have already told them to do Mohs+ as soon as I've seen your reply
I'm just curious can this be applied on-top of 3m of xpel film or is there a product that can go onto those films?
It can be used on it, but instead I'd recommend using Kamikaze Film Surface Coat that is designed specifically for paint protection film. ruclips.net/video/d1dauU3WhTQ/видео.html
Oh ok sweet would you then suggest using Mohs for the painted surfaces or one of the kamikaze products so there all the same?
What can I use to remove old sealant and wax before l ceramic coat my black Lexus
Use Gyeon Prep...multiple times if you have relatively fresh wax or sealant on it.
Is it ok to polish this product with a buffer after it drys
By polishing it, you will remove it...
I have a Jaguar F-Type and it has a glass roof, do I apply the ceramic coating to it ? What about the plastic hood vets etc?
I would apply Gyeon View to it...it's designed specifically for glass. If the plastic hood vents are painted, then just use your regular paint coating. If it's unfinished plastic, then use Gyeon Trim.
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing Got it thanks
Cost? Local place charging $1200, no paint prep included either. Reasonable?
That would be considered a normal market value for the service!
Hi Todd. My car has a fresh coat of satin paint. When can I apply gyeon’s ceramic coat?
I'd give it a few months, unless the painter cured the paint in an IR booth. If that's the case, you should be fine to coat it within a few weeks.
Thanks Todd. Will do.
I really wish people would understand that there is no magic coating that will stop swirls and scratches. It's all the rage on FB right now. These brand that you've never heard of come out showing a video of easy to apply coatings that show they will never swirl and people fall for them. Esoteric would you say that Mohs, is as hard to remove as pure? The one reason I' shying away from offering it is the need for 2-3 applications and what that comes down to with cost and time.
Dynamic Mobile Audio no kidding! It's out of hand
Question: If using Cure or Wet Coat, do you need to discard the MF towels after use as you do with the coating?
No, you do not.
Thanks!
Can I use gyeon moths on my chrome and stainless steel rims
Yes you can!
Can I apply a coat of sealant and wax I ceramic coat my car
No...just apply the coating, and the coating maintenance products. See this video: ruclips.net/video/gTZF1nHoAIg/видео.html
GREAT VIDEO
Does any one know if Gary Deans detail juice is compatible as an after care product? I have done some looking around but can't seem to find any information on what exactly to look for besides "coating safe" Is there a certain property or PH level we are trying to avoid?
I'd stick to using something that is developed by an actual coating company. You should also watch our video on how properly maintain a coated vehicle!
So why is it bad to have multi level of layers? I mean the more the merrier right?
Incorrect. In some cases, the coating will start to reject itself after so much of it. You quickly get to diminishing returns to the point where you don't gain durability, hardness, etc...you're only spending more money and time.
Awesome video, really comprehensive. Thanks guys :)
Can mohs be done in panels? I have an F150 and would like to divide everything up into 3 different days. Is that recommended?
You can do that, just make sure you're not driving it in between.
Thanks!
H2O Guard and gloss as a topper after washing a coated car?
I can't say I've heard of that product before...check out this video for some definitive information: ruclips.net/video/gTZF1nHoAIg/видео.html
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing H2O guard and gloss from Adams polishes? I believe is acrylic based.
Should I tape off rubber and plastic trim? Also, can this be used on badges and plastic chrome grills? Thanks
You can if you wish, but it is not necessary. If you get a little on the rubber / trim, just wipe it off right away. Yes, it's fine to use on badges and plastic chrome grills.
