1st I want to say you are the most underrated plant channel on RUclips. I always look forward to seeing your videos. 2nd I have learned so much from you. 3rd If you uploaded more I couldn't be the only one that would be super happy about it
Hi Claire. Your a genius. I'm new to house plants. Kids have grown, animals are old n sleeping all the time. My brain needs something. I found I could keep house plants alive. 1st time in 50 years. Then I saw u used a humidifier. I remembered that about 10 years ago, my youngest had a nasty cold. I brought a cheap humidifier thing from argos for her, I broke my steam mop humidifying her room. Iv fetched it from the back of a cupboard, dusted it down, set it going. I have it on a couple of hours a day, can't use to much leccy. I have noticed a big difference in my parlour palm. No brown leaves, perkier, generally looks way better. Thank you hun. Your such a sweet young lady xx
Could you do an in depth video about pon? Like when and how to water, what plants to put in it, and what it does to help the plants? I would love that!
Hi Claire, Many thanks for another fun video. Loved all these beautiful plants, many thanks for sharing! I especially love the coloring of the Silvery Ann. So lovely to look at, like a piece of art. Happy growing! 👌🪴🥰
My mums Hoya carnosa is around 30 years old now and MASSIVE! It sits in a south facing window and has the prettiest pink sun stressed spots 😍 it’s amazing!
I love your videos I live in Australia and were coming into spring and summer and my plants are starting to take off again and my hoya carnosa is tendriling I also cut mine up and propergated it and made a whole new plant and was surprised at how quickly it started to root and produce new growth
I enjoy watching your videos, and I really love when you spend much time explaining what you find so wonderful about a plant because it helps me increase my english vocabulary :D
Love all these. Thank you. Tip: cheap $ store make up brush in a circular motion to clean pests off leaves. With harder leaves you can use a soft or baby toothbrush but the coverage takes longer.
Love your videos and I watch them over and over 😅I have few kinds of scindapsus plants and I think my favorite is scindapsus Jade. It is just so beautiful. My moonlight is not growing fast but I love him anyway. You said you have your Siver Ann in your window. Is it getting full sun ? Mine doesn't have that much silver. My fuzzy petiole plant is getting trips over and over, I was told it's magnet for them. So cut everything and it's growing again 😊
Was wondering if you have a video about planting with pon. I am not familiar with this substrate & would love to know more about it & how to use it. ❤ your videos
@@gypsylee333 I've been able to keep a red prayer plant alive, thank the LORD, maybe one day I'll get I lemon lime, but idk if I want to take such a risk😂😂😂
@@MelanieM-l9v yeah it's a little redundant to have both, but what you SHOULD get is the the variegated Beauty Kim. Where it has the black spots instead of stripes, you know the one I mean?
My Philodendron verrucosum cutting has finally taken off and it is making me very happy. 2 leaves with another coming and even though it’s small (mid cut) it is already sizing up. 🎉
I’ve really been loving my micans lately. But also my alocasias pink dragon and Yucatán process, because they’re both growing so beautifully! I like my false Aralia simply because it’s a plant not a lot of people have.
I only buy starter plants these days such as calathea, maranta and alocasia to put in pon. More mature plants seem to throw more of a fit but eventually they'll bounce back and acclamate. 🙂
Heya! Where are you getting your materials for your vertical moss poles? I'm also UK based! 😊 I love your videos you always make me ignore my plant ban 😅🌿
my current fave is my calathea/goeppertia warscewiczii. i was convinced i couldn't keep her alive so the fact that shes pushing out several leaves just makes me so happy 🤗
My recent acquisition, ceropegia woodii, has been giving me much joy lately. And there's always an all-time favourite of mine, haworthia cooperi var. obtusa, why isn't it more popular? So easy, so unusual. I also really love my hoya carnosa; it originally belonged to my great grandma. It's huge. I've winded all of the vines on a trellis that's as tall as me, and I already need to get a bigger one, since new runners are everywhere, trying to climb on other plants.
That Jacklyn is just stunning!!! I have a baby one that I recently transferred to pon that hoping will grow like yours! I only got into pon because of your introduction to it in a video you did ages ago! I love it, as do my alocasia and philos 😃
I keep wondering how is your Sarawak is going? I got one 2 months ago as an established cutting and it is growing 3 shoots now, which I was really surprised about!
I haven't had mealies on my Jacklyn, but I have found DIPPING and submerging leaves in whatever I'm treating with- be it alcohol/ water mixture or soap water has worked SO well, for getting all the nooks and crannies, in really hard to reach areas. I treated an aeonium for mealies a few weeks ago, with an alcohol/water dip and then a castile soap water dip and, so far, I haven't found any new ones (I gave the stem and good wipe down). I make sure to swish the foliage around, in the water, to shake out any air bubbles, that might form, between nooks, to make sure there's no refuge 😂 it was my first time treating mealies, but I've used it a lot for spider mites and I've barely had to re-treat them, since.
I am really rating pon at the moment....I only had one alocasia die back last year which I've regrown from corm now....I do find it's easier to transfer younger alocasia to pon than mature ones but the roots they give when they have transitioned well are fab....and my anthuriums all LOVE pon I use soil ninja coarse semi hydro for those rather than fine or lechuza as their roots are much chunkier....I've not built up the courage to get my monstera albo in it yet but I might do so soon with warmer weather around the corner I'm so glad you have more confidence with pon and I look forward to any more videos you do on it....I did do an experiment with pon a few weeks ago to see if I could grow herbs from seed in it, and they've all germinated and are growing! You never know till you try these things 😂
Everything is looking great in your collection. I literally cannot list my favourites as everything is just taking off, so I'm just appreciating all of my plants. Hope you get on top of killing those pesky mealies, I mean where the heck do they even come from? They just appear out of nowhere 🤔The bane of my life at the moment is Spidermites, and it's like pests take a turn, as in the late winter/early spring of 2022 it was mealies, then all through the summer into autumn it was Thrips, and now from March to current it's Spidermites. Time to get the big guns and order some beneficials, that'll sort them. I can't wait to see your face when the leaves start to really size up on the Alocasia Platinum, you're going to love it even more. I've dropped you a DM on IG to show you what the mother plant is looking like. I'm so glad you like it ☺
My collection recently got a straight direction through the Calathea and Marantha species. For me and my limited space 5 of my big plants are from that genus and I've grown quite well at taking care of them and I appreciate everyday their beautiful color even if them are sometimes slow or medium growers. My proud and joy of the month is my philodendron squamiferum that is sizing up at every leaves, Stunning multi lobed leaves and fuzzy red petioles are my weakness😂
I have a mature Alocasia Platinum. The leaves are bigger than my hand, the sinus splits when mature and the leaves look like tacos (folded up) and the stems turn even more red/black in colour but are not long like the Jacklyn.
I feel the same way about my 'moonlight'. But also my 'baltic blue'. I'm gonna try to get a plant swap together for my area and take both full plants. My top 3 favorites right now in no particular order... Hoya black margin, Hoya pubicalix splash, and lifesaver cactus (it's got a bloom about to open)
Love to see that you're also experimenting with pon. I've transferred my first 3 plants to pon yesterday (alocasia cuprea, money tree and coffee plant). I started with plants that are less important to me to see how it goes before putting my more favorite ones in it😅. I really hope I like it because this summer I'll be going on holiday for 10 days and I would love it if nobody has to come check on my plants. That's only possible if it's all in pon. So I really hope all my plants (about 50) can get into pon before that. But probably not because I've heard Anthurium don't like it and hanging baskets will get too heavy. But the more thirty plants like Alocasia, Strelitzia, money tree, coffee plant, prayer plants will probably love it. With Philodendron and hoya I hear a lot of mixed experiences. So probably will try pon on a less special one of those too to see😅
I have some great alocasia news as well: my alocasia silver dragon is flowering 😮🥰 But now comes the big question: when should I remove the flower? Does it take away a lot of energy from the plant or can I leave it for a while?
I just got an Alocasia Platinum and put it in semi hyrdo and it threw a tantrum and dropped all the leaves but I'm hoping it comes back. It's sooo pretty!
Do you happen to know if the silvery ann would be okay in medium light? My mom thinks its so beautiful and I want to gift her one but she is wanting a plant she can put in a low/medium light area.
I have mine hanging in a north window outside is a coveried porch as well so even lower light than typical north windows but it’s doing fine. Growth isn’t fast tho and I have to be careful with water….basically under water or leaves near the base turns yellow Probably not the best plant choice for my situation but workable. Hope it helps

Im so happy i found your channel! My love for indoor plants is growing and im finding your videos very useful and therapeutic too! ❤
I can never resist an Alocasia! 😍 I keep staring at my Jacklyn as well, it just looks so weird and unique!
Love those plants, beautiful 😍
That jacklyn ❤
That silvery Ann is the prettiest one I’ve ever seen. I didn’t know it was capable of such silver leavea
I've been loving The Leca Queen's content on semihydro. She's given me the confidence to switch a bunch of my plants over!

My big win for the month of April was that my rescue Krimson Queen finally grew two new leaves!

I love your silvery Anne. I recently added a few albo variegated scindapsus to my collection and I’m obsessed with them!

I find the Variegated Alocasia Frydek is quite hungry. I fertilize every watering to keep the older leaves from dying off
How often do you water your variegated frydek in pon? Just curious cause I am so confused on how to water and how often to water plants in pon.
I always make sure the water reservoir is filled at least 1cm (touching the pon) 💚

Are you not using beneficial bugs for pest control any more?
Disregard my question..lol...I found your video on PON....not ponding...lol
👏👏👏
Silly question..what is "in pond"?
In Pon. It’s a planting medium like LECA or soil. Pon is made from lava rocks, pumice, and zeolite.
You're right pronouncing it as 'skindapsus', Claire. In Latin, a 'c' is always pronounced as 'k'...
What is pon
