I don't know if they still do it, but about fifteen years ago, my cousin's cub scout group got to spend the night in the lobby of the museum around the pendulum and I was invited to join. It was really neat, but I remember I tossed and turned practically the whole night lol.
Thanks for filming these! I rode them many times growing up. The glass Otis elevators were installed around the year 2000. Prior to that, there weren't exhibits on the 2nd floor and there was just empty space where the two glass elevators are now. As a little Jeffy that Virginia service elevator was really big and intimidating, it doesn't seem quite so big now.
