    I like to know what kind of legal obligation as a background company is held to? Who regulates background companies essentially someone’s future is in any unknown employee of a background check company and if something is running properly that puts them at risk for losing whatever opportunity they have on the table I don’t think reinvestigation is suitable enough in my opinion something that serious should be done properly the first time they shouldn’t be given a second opportunity to mess it up especially when they put someone else’s lives and future at risk

      Chipie, thank you for your comment. Background screening companies are supposed to follow the state laws and the FCRA rules that govern background checks. That being said not all of them do and not all employers use an outside company. Some of them do them on their own or rely on an online search. The re-investigation is something that a background screening company must do per the FCRA. I can tell you that in our business the number of contested records and re-investigations conducted is very small because we are very thorough and believe we should only report records that are confirmed to belong to the subject. That being said every court in every state indexes records differently. Some courts have removed full dates of birth and some do not include middle initials. These factors can often make it very difficult to verify information. Take care.

    does that employment background check include a comprehensive credit check?

      It can but not always. Also credit reports for employment purposes cannot include a score and public records like bankruptcy judgments and liens have been removed.
