This is a song that Tim Mcilrath performed at "Chicago's Bottom Lounge 4/9/12" So far no one knows the name, at first I thought it was Dirt and Roses. Rise against is the only band I've ever heard that sings directly to my soul
Heard a Rise against song that I didn't know existed before. Beautiful song. Cried, Replayed. Cried some more. Today was a good day.
This is a beautiful song, it's been a while since a song has made me cry, but this did it.

This song is called "Restless World." It is an original by Rise. However, it will not be featured on any upcoming album. I have confirmation from Zach they are taking a break in 2013.
Yeah I know, I was crying when I heard them's fightin' words because ive wanted tim to cover a killing tree song for soooo long, and yeah I wish he would have recorded that one.

They announce it on the 24th of June, it's "Restless World" and it'll probably be on an EP either before or after their new album. But it won't be on the album
seen an interview Tim did with Rolling Stone recently. coinfirmed they were going on a break, but they dont know how long, not overly long but definately enough time to "recharge their batteries after being at it full-force the last 2 years" he said. He also added that after doing the Bob Dylan cover "Ballad of Hollis Brown" theyv'e been inspiered to pursue a softer sound, similar to that song, and presumably something along the lines of this.

I contacted their website manager and they told me the official title and it won't be on the album, but rather possibly an EP before or after the new album is released.

this song is by Rise Against but Tim never gave the name of the song when he performed it so no body really knows what the name of the song is or if it's just a cover. Everyone who knows about this song just calls it the "Unknown Song" by Rise Against. That is all I know on it, if anyone else wants to prove me wrong or back up my saying, go ahead, please keep me updated on this song:) it is one of my favorites after all

Someone from Generation lost forum asked tim on tour and he said It didn't have a name cause he wrote it while on tour. He was asked to release it and said something like maybe ;)

-It was actually the whole band who did that one. The one I remember Tim McIlrath doing without (and one time with) Rise Against was the cover The Descendant's "Bikeage", one of their best.
It's already been made official by RA, this song is called "Restless World" and it will not be on their new album.
I hope they produce this, it's wonderful. If anyone finds any information about it, please share it.
I thought maybe this was going to be swing life away 2.0 at first and was disappointed when I read the comments and its only a cover but then I realized that Tim can really relate to this song.. he and his wife dream of retiring and living in the mountains she once said and that keeps them going through crazy tours and him being away from his kids.. I guess Tim's worried about the impact he makes on the world and if it will last and wishes he could live a simple life but carries on

Yeah that's true, but I was thinking this is dirt and roses because the avengers soundtrack comes out in a little more than 2 weeks, and this is the only new material they've played so far as I know

Like he's had this decision to make, which is the fork in the road, but he's fallen for the bait and made the wrong choice, so the wonder has gone and he has to face reality and realise he has to go out alone to find the person who is lost....

People are saying that, but it is not. None of them have presented any evidence to show that it is, and also Tim at the beginning also says "You guys haven't heard this one" pretty much meaning it's his own work, if not some help with the rest of the band :D

I'm not even going to try to find the name but find the meaning behind the song...
I think it's about leaving home to try and find your own life but you fall off the original road you intended to take. The path that isn't the original plan turns out to be a trap and you become trapped into a life you didn't wish to have. You keep telling yourself "This too shall pass," hoping for this to only be a phase. Ultimately though... You become trapped for good... Never being able to go back home...
