- In this video, I show three ways make a miter cut without a bandsaw. After making the collapsible outdoor chair, I received a number of requests for an alternative way to make the cut I did on the bandsaw.

you could make this cut by hand, but you had better be rather skilled using a hand saw, nice job overall
Hello mate, could you check your plans and parts G should have 68deg? Thanks
Cheers to you for actually showing it. That alone deserves a thumbs up. The cautionary lesson about wedging the cut with the circular saw definitely does 👍🏻👍🏻
Better a thums up than a flying thumbs up
Youre such a damn legend. I love how you don't just create sick pices of furnature, but you go the extra mile and show us the alternatives AND how you did it. Literally no other creator that I know of does this. Thank you so much! You deserve your 3.2 m subs. Most other creators dont have this work ethic and don't have the same sub count as you.
Sir you're easily the best DIY channel on RUclips and its not even close
I have learned so much from you're channel
This was a great video, you should do more like this. When the prefered tool is unavailable but a project most move on.
I have a bandsaw, but you have taught me much in this video. Sometimes I'm not in the shop and can use these. Thank you.
You a madlad using a reciprocating saw for not demolition. Respect
I've done plenty of cuts like this with various types of handsaws too. I do prefer the power saw methods if I've got one available though. I'm lazy. :)
You’re not lazy. You work smart not hard :)
What a great job responding to your viewers! Very much appreciated.
Great video. This alternative tool idea is a really great concept for a series. I like your clear and straightforward explanations doing this stuff. Thanks much for sharing.
Any Good or Bad suitation in your life comes because of three things, first what you think in your mind, second what you speak out to this world, third is based on your action and desires, make your thinking, speaking, action as clean as possible to make your life beautiful. 😀 Have a nice day 😃
Where there’s a will, there is a way and you just demonstrated that. Nice work!👍🏼
You are as pragmatic as skilled. Your explanations are clear, consise, and synced perfectly to video content. TYVM.
Love your videos, you've taught me a lot! Keep doing what you're doing sir
Thanks, that's awesome!!
My favorite channel! This guy is great!
One of the best channels on youtube
BOSS. Thanks for sharing Glen!
Sure thing! I appreciate ya tuning 8n.
Thank you! 👍 Showing alternatives like these are giving me, a new woodworker with limited tools, SO much inspiration and confidence knowing I don't have to avoid project videos using tools I don't have or can afford to buy.
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH! 👍 👍
Greetings from Denmark
It would be wonderful to have a neighbor like you! We could do projects together all day long.
Love this video! I don’t have a band saw or table saw, but do have a recip and hand saw. Now I know some good ways to use them to make angled cuts! I love the chair, too. You’re a pretty great designer.
Thanks for sharing those tips and the make!
I really like your work and you seem like a really nice guy
Love your videos!! Wish you were my neighbor.

Thank You Glen!!!! Lots Of Great Info & Safety Too!!!! 👍😎
Appreciate you showing these options
Thanks for sharing options. The only other option would be a hand saw it will take longer but it works.
Awesome information and demonstration. Love your videos. All the best. Peace and Good Fortune and Good Health to you and your family.
I would have never thought to use a recipe saw for that cut. You did it very well.
6:00 No "defect" Looks like Bark. The look of Bark is Great in furniture.

great video thanks for sharing
Clever. Thanks ❤
Hermoso sillon👋👋!!
I love watching you creators! Is there a design process you have in making more unique solutions like this compact deck chair?
Very nice 👌
You should make a video adding arms to this chair.
Great channel with awesome content.i am hoping you will do a space saving cupboard in the near future that goes at the front of the garage that generally wouldn't allow for the doors to swing open once there's vehicles in it.something along the lines of tambour or Bi-Fold doors
I literally just went out and got a band saw for this!
Maybe another option would be, instead of using a 4x4 would be two 2x4's. Cutting the 30 deg. angle through 2" would solve the limited depth of cut and be easier to manage as the 2x4 would be lighter then wrestling a 4x4. This would improve accuracy as well. Only down side would be an extra glue up and a visible seam at the glue line due to the rounded over edges of 2x4's, if using home centre lumber. If you get lumber from a local supplier, you could get 2x4's with sharp corners, so the line would be less visible. Just a thought. :)
Here is a fourth way: Several passes on a jointer with the fence set on an angle you chose is also a way to achieve the angle. It can also smooth the cut if you cut is rough or not exactly aligned from your three methods. A few passes on the jointer will clean off the saw marks and reduce some sanding steps in the process.
رائع جدا بالتوفيق ان شاء الله
SUPER
First thought out of my mind is this would work well in a truck bed with some pieces of bicycle tire attatched to bottom.
Excellent video and help as always .
Can I ask how do you come up with so many designs
Good working 👌👌👌👌 how are you
Thanks I really liked the chair but I don't own a ban saw. Any recommendations
If you can only have two saws, and nothing else, for your basic wood working, which would they be?
Like a boss
Hi Glenn sir I am big big fan but is there a way of doing this with regular hand saw for ppl like me who like to use hand tools no power tools love you're work sir
Love the seat however I would definitely need to curve the back so that I could sit better. And I would like to have something come out from the side so that it would hold a cup in a plate. And I would like the back to be taller. But great idea I know that sounds ironic after I made a list of all the things that I would change lol
🔥🔥🔥
I would be very tempted to cut two 2x4 at 30 degrees and glue them together.
Luar biasa kawan
You better be sponsored by dewalt! If not they scored off this video.
Hi glen sir could this be done with hand tools sir
Hi Glen can this be done with just hand tools
👌👌👌
Thanks. How ever one can do it with japanese hand saw also.
After watching these alternative methods, I bet you could do it a 4th way by cross cutting with a dado blade (or a regular blade). You just need to jig the 4x4 so the cut is parallel to the table. Now just start making crosscuts. When finished just cuts the end off.
I recently started doing some basic woodworking, and I have to ask- what did the wedge at the end of the circular saw cut help with?
It keeps the wood from slipping and closing the saw kerf. That would grab the blade like a clamp causing kickback. Or like Glenn said "something bad would happen" (understatement there)
@@ravenwinger1 thanks!
Nice Dewalt product placement
