The word of the vlog today is ✨scrumptious✨
Finished a Sorceress Comes to Call this past weekend! So good! :)
I really enjoyed it as well!!!
the pushing matilda so she’s more in the sun did make me tear up, why is she so precious!!!!
I loved the bookclub activity, the fact that I can see everyone's final rating PLUS their comments per chapter on Fable is super great, I look forward to the future book club picks!
Its so pleasing how to the two books also match each other in colours ❤❤❤
Had to giggle because you, in Texas with 80 being more pleasant 😂 and me, in PA…80 is TOO HOT 🥵😂😂 that’s peak summertime temps up here lol! Glad to see your embracing fall weather inside at least though! 🍁
Also, thanks for the voter registration reminder! We moved counties earlier this year and we need to look into that!!! 👏🏼👏🏼
Me in VT thinking the same thing about 80° 😂
The "Sorceress Comes to Call" sounds exactly like Jane Austen's Lady Susan the plot you just gave was like exactly what the short plot of that story is makes me want to read it more!
Yay your recommendations are always 👩🍳 chefs kiss.
In the middle of The Golden Enclaves and trying not to DNF it. I loved the first two in the series. Read A Sorceress Comes to Call and LOVED it. I think it is my favorite T. Kingfisher. I get to meet them this weekend and I can’t wait for A Sorceress Comes to Call to be signed!!!❤
Can you post your recipe for the Greek dipping sauce you made to go with the chicken, potatoes, corn, veggies?? Looks so appetizing !
I just finished S Sorcerer Comes to Call yesterday on audiobook and it was really good. I loved the characters
I love reading the final book to a series, especially one I have been eagerly waiting on. That way I know how it ends and can treasure the series.
I find we have similar reading tastes so I always get good recommendations from your videos (btw scholomance is pronounced like scholar or scholarly not like school)
💚🖤Happy Belated Birthday Mr Clay hope you have many many more years to come.
Ahhh first! So excited for this
thank you for tuning in!
I'm so glad I read A Sorceress Comes to Call with your book club! It was my first T Kingfisher book and enjoyed it a lot alongside the audiobook!
A Sorcerer’s comes to call is absolutely the best and really enjoyed it 📚🤎🤎🍂🤎📖🍁📖🤎📙📙📙🖤🍃🎃🍃🖤📙👻👻👻👻📙🖤💛📚🍁🍁🍁📖🖤📙📙🖤🍃🎃🎃🍁📖🤎📙🖤🍃🎃🍁📖📚📚📚📖📖📖📖💛🖤📙📙🍂🍂🍂📚📖🍁🍁📚📚📚
I loved the Scholomance! The 2nd book was my favorite too
Just curious when you pick up book 3 in a series (like Golden Enclaves for example) after significant time away from books 1 & 2 do you watch or read recaps or do you just dive right in?
oo cute orange wrapping paper!
The God of the woods was SO good. My top book of the year so far.
The homemade pizza looked so tasty!
So early! Love a good reading vlog!
thank you for watching!
WOTD: scrumptious! 😋🤤
Im even more excited to read A Sorceress Comes to Call!
blundstones are the BEST, good gift!!
This book is wild I really want to this played out live action some how, how the magic works the monsters
😭😭 I wish I had loved A Sorceress Comes to Call like others did 😭
I really enjoyed the Scholomance series. I liked that El was a strong FMC without being whiny and annoying. Fantasy is my favorite genre, but so many of the FMC's are annoying.
Nice sweater choice Clay 🐻
I just started A Sorceress Comes to Call today and am really liking it so far! Also I know you didn’t get to it yet but I recently read The God of The Woods and gave it 5 stars! Can’t wait for you to read that one 😍
I hate cutting wrapping paper when it's already on the box 😂
awesome!!
Currently reading Golden Enclaves myself, I’m on the last 100 pages
Reagan I think you should read Shauna Lawless’s Gael Song trilogy starting with children of gods and fighting men, I’m sure you’d absolutely love it, it is historical fiction blended with fantasy set in Ireland in the dark ages. The characters are amazing, especially Gormflaith who is an extremely well crafted villain.
so far i finished one book in September, however it was on my TBR book for a LONG time. so i'm very accomplished, and I'm keeping going, but Mist Born is so slow right now (not really) I just miss hockey so i decided to pick up my next book and just ugh why me?
I’m 80% through A Sorceress Comes to Call and it’s SO GOOD but in a dark uncomfortable way
sorry did you say they sell Kerbey Lane pancakes at Costco??? I really miss Texas sometimes 😭 (but not when you talk about the heat, hahaha)
❤️📚
@peruseproject where can I snag this gorgeous red cardigan?
I'll be curious to hear (eventually) what you thought of The God of the Woods. I've heard so many rave reviews of it. I've been reading it off and on for a few weeks, and having a hard time getting into it. Hopefully it will draw me in soon. Thanks for encouraging people to register and have a plan to vote!
A Sorceress Comes to Call sounds interesting - think I will download it to my Kindle right away. I love fairytale retellings.
Interestingly, from what you tell about the story it is not surprising that the author has called the daughter Cordelia, I see a reference there, though clearly not Shakespeare. Once read about a real-life mother and daughter from the point of view of the daughter, also some kind of overpowering mother figure, and that's what the story reminds me of.
BTW, have you ever read any books by Gregory Maguire? (Yes, he's the guy that wrote the book that good made into the musical Wicked!) A lot of his books are fairytale retellings, and in quite an interesting way. I've read Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister (Cinderella) and Mirror Mirror (Snow White; in that version the Wicked Stepmother is Lucrecia Borgia!).
finally
I’ve still never read a kingfisher book😢
Can someone tell me where to snag this red balloon sleeve cardi????
full support
I'm at the half of the video and the word scrumptious has been used five times, and I have some inexplicable aversion towards that word. 😅
On another note, though, this was probably the most personal read to me because of my upbringing, it wasn't that bleak, but I feel like the book could almost be a metaphor for my childhood. It hit me really hard, and, as usual, I've found Kingfisher's characters to be the most relatable for me.
18:13 soooo spoiled I lover her 😂☆°•
Also happy bday to Clay 🌼
this video format suits me a lot
