I think in order for them to qualify for the tax benefits in Monaco they have to physically live there for so many months of the year. They were already in Marbella for so long with the pre-birth and the birth of Leon. It was time for them to go back to Monaco.
Nobody wants to be in Spain right now. There are more Coronavirus cases in Spain than Monaco has people. They made the smart choice, especially since they have a young child.
