Thank you, excellent detailed form instruction. Thank you for: "I want you to hit straight leg" . . . "extending is what the prettiest people in the world do, what the best athletes in the world do." "Struggle. The struggle is the good part." Feeling proud. as a 63 y.o woman., I am nailing them, struggling, not many reps, but good reps.😁
I love it. My balance is unusually bad. Too much sitting and injuries. Will really help. See.s like this exercise will hit everything except shoulders. Mid and front anyway. Rear delts would get worked a little I think.
You usually keep your feet forward because that’s how you walk. In this case you fight for a good straight finish because that’s how you stand. I like to pick my head up and stand tall at the top, which takes a second longer, but I want great legs and great standing posture. I love all these human movements, and I’m starting to do them daily. I clicked the buttons, and I’ve never lichen subbed nothing.
Ok, I've tried this with an 8kg bell, one rep each side, with _lots_ of struggling and flailing around to maintain balance. Now I go back and try it again :-) Let's see if I can get to 3 reps today without falling over.
I like to wrap the toes of the free foot around the back of the standing foot and squeeze for more stability and more overall contraction. DEFY GRAVITY DAILY and ROCK ON ! ! !
So true about the straight position. Our Prince Philip is in his 90s and always stands very straight on his rare public appearances and no walking stick in sight. He has always stood very straight for long periods of time...... Thanks for your pearls of wisdom.... Have a good day Mr Wildman. Lovely mountains.
Greatly appreciate your instruction and observations! Any chance you’ll share your take on the one-arm overhead KB squat? Seems unmentioned in your basics series. Thanks!
Awesome instruction, thanks! What would you suggest in terms of programming? Maybe something like simple & sinister with swings replaced by 3 sets of 5 reps per side of single leg Romanian dl?
I agree. When I do perform the RDL with ketttlebells I try to mimic the uchi mata. I've messed with some split stance cleans as well for tai otoshi practice.
Speaking of balance, I would seriously recommend checking out a kettlebell athlete called Michael Lisichkin. He has many absolutely insane kettlebell feats of balance/stability. He does juggling too, pretty cool to watch 🙂
I’m so sorry my professional movie set mic isn’t up to your standards. Perhaps some other instructor will give you free instruction daily at your required quality
"The struggle is the good part" . thats gold !

Great video, thanks for sharing Mark!
Again, EXCELLENT "micro-explains" of why. LIke why thumb is vertical -- to better fire the lat.
Thank you!… Mark love your demonstrations!…🙌🏽👍💪
Alright gotta give that a shot later this week....that looks fun and awesome !!!
Sorry buddy I didn't catch a thing from that workout I was just in awe of that landscape you're lucky to live there.
Really enjoy your videos Mark. Tq.
Nice! Thank you so much for the free informations! I will give this exercise a try tomorrow.
Ha! Funny, this was the question of today - including the full extension; by bringing the bell to the side.
Thank you!
Thanks Mark. I'll try this as soon as I can do the basic move. You're right, it's deceptivley hard to do.
Love the content, love the scenery
Do you know where this is?
San Chriso Mountains in Colorado
Going to add this one to one the regular routines! Thank you!

Single legged around the world also fires up the foot nicely I find. Activate those arches.
Amazing exercise, and setup

Good stuff. Thank you!
I’m doing this while waiting in line at TSA.
Brilliant vid again. Would this be a good movement for runners to practice? Cheers
I will try this today, thank you

... that was _really_ hard, surprisingly hard. I'm adding this to my program.
Good workout, great demonstration. Thank you Sir! 🕯🗽🚢🇺🇸⏳
You should compile programming sequences with all of the content you have put together and charge for it. Take my money

Nice one. Well, how is it going with the application, Mark? Are the guys on it or what?
We should be on beta I think in a week

It’s not what I would consider a basic range of motion
Just tried this after snow shoveling post blizzard......yup....hard.
Quality over quantity.

I would put these in on a swing day as an activation exercise
Should this always be done contralateral to the straight leg? Or would it be wise to also do ipsilateral to the straight leg?
My favorite video ..... Will you make a JUDO/BJJ specific workout video please

The bent leg - should it remain parallel to the 'loaded' leg during the entire movement or can it cross behind the 'loaded' leg?
Nice breakdown. Had this on my program but wasn’t doing it correctly. What do you think of adding a bent over row with this?
My balance sucks. Need to work on that.
Some reps are good, others are not. And it's interesting to see how both legs act differently at balance.

Sorry…when you said Contra,
I thought about the NES code:

The only complaint I have about the videos is the sound quality is mediocre (sometimes I struggle to hear the wild man).
It’s the same mic as every other video
@@MarkWildman I think the audio quality is consistently mediocre. Thanks for the great content though.
Geez can’t please everyone
@@brianbarry5620 that’s true, I would argue he could please me by investing in a new Mike however.

As for straightening legs, in strength training you can hyper-extend easily at 100% weight capacity. Makes for some gross GIFs.
kettlebells are really hard to get to 100% capacity... they are by design, intermediate weights.
Straight leg = squeezing the glutes
Again, .. "very good, very hard".
Wildman Athletica: Generally annoying, with extra steps that make everything a little bit harder
