I agree with him on not inviting her to the wedding. Why have her there and have his new wife upset on her special day. Your brothers wife only brought this on herself for the way she treated your fiancee.
I don't want to be a step mom. You did the right thing. You know what you want and you know your limits of potential drama. Your honesty is a breath of fresh air. Let go of the guilt people threw at you.
Step parent story: you did the right thing. There would have been a large about of regret, resentment and that is not good for a child. The Mother's family and father's family should take on the responsibility of helping with the child not someone outside the family that doesn't won't or is not obligated in anyway to help. The family are being childish.
third story: I happen to be geeky/nerdy too... my parents and brother are not... so I sort of understand what OP is going through. My mother and I have found one bit of common ground...sort of. We are both crafters. The thing is, growing up, we all took turns doing things that we each wanted to do. Dad wanted to go fishing, we all went fishing. That way we all got a chance to do things we wanted to do, together. OP sounds like she tried to get into the family's interests, but they just didn't interest her. It also sounds like the family never tried to do what interested OP. I'm sorry, but it's a two way street. OP maybe could have knuckled under and did things with her family that they enjoyed, just for the togetherness... but they could have done the same for her. It sounds to me like the rest of the family wasn't happy, because she wasn't a carbon copy of them. They never bent over backwards for OP, why should OP bend over backwards for them?
Why are you saying you're geeky/nerdy too first thing in your comment? Why do you think that makes things different? Sorry, thought it was funny that OP of that story was complaining about people saying they're nerdy/geeky. OP lost any faith from me that they're as innocent as they make themselves be from their second edit.
The one about breaking up with the guy because of his ex having his baby - that's just his family realizing that she's the smart one, and with her gone, now they're probably going to have to adjust their lives more to help him when it's his week or whatever with the kid.
exactly. why is his family getting so much in her business? sounds like they are desperate to marry him off knowing he's not really good material. Good thing she got out while she could. Besides, he has a 'wife' and kid already. he needs to grow up and she is not his mother to train him.
You aren't married yet. If you made it clear you want to be child-free, and then a child comes along, since you aren't married yet, you have the right to call it off. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
3rd story: OP is not really the jerk. The sister is obviously the favorite just because she’s more like the parents! The sister made it seem like as if only OP should be the one making an effort to spend time and do things with the family! No! They all should! Jeez that family’s priorities are messed up! You make time to spend time with family because they’re family and you care about them! Even if you don’t have much in common! That sister obviously doesn’t really care about OP at all!
I'm anoyed by the sisters attitude. I'm into nerdy stuff but my parents aren't. My dad is more into sports cars and classic movies and my mom likes girly movies dramas and cop shows. And frankly I don't care. Why should it matter if well I'm playing video games and the like shes watching lifetime. OP's family sounds more like a cult.
Joshua Ortega exactly! I’m *_super_* into Transformers but my parents are not but they watched all the Transformer live action movies with me and also listen when I talk about it!
@@rosepuppy1984 What kinda cracks me up in my family all sat down to watch the Aquaman movie the other night and my mom got super into the story about Aquamans parents and was asking me about some the stuff she didn't really understand. To me thats just normal. The fact that OP's sister acts like OP likes different book's and movies makes her dumber tell's me the sister has a massive ego.
I get that Karen likes the sandpapery fish because she's abrasive like sandpaper, but I actually find it kind of sweet that she likes any fish. Nice character detail.
The Karen who got her knickers in a twist about the dog treats should have asked about them if she was so concerned. Given that dogs are carnivorous in the main, what on earth did she expect?
Honestly I wouldn't even give your sister in-law a second thought, its your special day and she never gave you any thoughts on her wedding day, honestly not even allowing you in any of the wedding pictures. Girl,...dont sweat it. Just enjoy your day with your new hubby.
The "sniff jar" story: If he could have stomached it, the guy should have gone into 'malicious compliance' mode and just allowed the snot to run down his face and drip into the floor wherever it wanted to--and refuse to clean it up. Guaranteed the rules would have changed quickly!
I hope the guy getting married have people who truly love them at their wedding. Obviously the new sister in law needs the wake up call that it's not okay to be so judgemental and grumpy.
I agree, but you are missing the point. Look at the timing. Guy is dating a woman. In less than nine months of getting engaged to another woman, the ex turns up pregnant. So many questions: Why did they break up? Was he still seeing the ex after he started dating OP? Would OP's fiance be willing to marry a single mom?
For the first story: You shouldn’t try force a dog on a diet when it’s not even you’re dog. OP ain’t in the wrong at all. Sure people wanna know what’s in they treats but the Karen should of asked before and you can’t force a random dog on a diet. Also she reminds me of that vegan teacher on TikTok 👁__👁💧 Also the second story: Nah OP ain’t in the wrong it’s the sisters fault and kinda the parents fault. You can’t be rude to someone cause they don’t like what you like. Don’t ask people to babysit you’re dang child for F R E E
Also dogs are descendants of strict carnivores, they're been breed to be omnivores but I don't think a vegetarian or vegan diet would be healthy for a dog Also I'd love to ask vegans and vegetarians who avoid meat because of eating something living why plants are OK, I mean plants are living too just less active and less expressive than people and animals do what makes eating plants better, vegans eat sustainably but some vegans have the same views that eating meat is horrible
I think the babysitter aunt does NOT need to conform to everyone else. If they want a relationship - they can also meet her half-way, but it sounds like they just want their position and not budge - so why should she? Sometimes the road less traveled is the more exciting and more gratifying.
If we 'have canine teeth for a reason' why don't you try and go eat a live animal with just your teeth? We don't have to have meat and science shows the average American eats way too much of it.
I'm fine with them and their own diet. But the second they try and force their diet onto a pet, especially one thats SUPPOSE to eat meat like dogs and cats, that's where I call them the worst human beings in existence.
I totally agree, and having worked at a farm/pet supply for several years I can say it's more common than you'd expect for people to force a vegan diet on their cat/dog. It's super sad, really cause the animals were never healthy. Those people are definitely amongst the lowest scum on earth.

I have pet sharks. While body surfing at the Silver Trand Beach in California. Lemon sharks were common swimming through the waves. The ones 18 inches to 2 foot we reached in the wave and grabbed them by the tail and let go before they could bite. Soon after National Geographic did an article on shark bite strength. The Lemon shark had one of the weakest bites but a shark the size we messed with could bite off an adults hand. I was a young teen and my friends and I never grabbed another shark.
I don't want to spend time with you because, we don't have anything in common. She actually said that to her sister. If my sister would of said that to me, I probably would of just said, " How rude!" Then I would of just walk out the door without an answer to her question. That would of been my way of saying no. This would probably be the last time I'd ever try to spend time with my sister. Just because, they are family doesn't mean they get to disrespect you. Sometimes you just have to stand up for yourself. Be the person God made you to be. Don't change who, you are to make your family happy.
Opie I just wanted to put one more thing your brother did start something the moment that his girlfriend chose to not make your fiance a bridesmaid so technically it's your wedding like I said and you don't have to invite her the same way she didn't invite your wife to become a bridesmaid then on top of that she has to bear and grin her teeth every time you'll have to take family photos and stuff like that see how that's not fair to you so yeah sorry to say your brother and his girlfriend started this the moment she pulled that crap he could have basically said you know what I'm not going to marry you if you can't accept my brother's girlfriend being a bridesmaid and if this is how you treat people I don't want to see what you're like has a mother of one of our kids is a little overweight so sorry to say Opie you know you're not the jerk and the situation like I said before your brother his girlfriend is or I meant to say wife I'm sorry then on top of that she knew what she was doing she even said it so bluntly to
Omg, I'm genuinely feel sorry for OP in the story@9:00min mark or so into the story. Her family is very insensitive too her. Each child is different and should be treated as such and they why her sister and mom spoke too her was beyond mean. Cry it out then stand tall with your head held high and keep it moving. Let them do them and you go and live your life and live it good.
If you don't want kids, that's your choice and they should respect that. If they can't then you did what was best for you and they should just shut up and let it go.
Been single whole life. So fair warning, you will get crap all your life for choosing a childfree life.If the choice you made in your relationship is right for you, then other people have no right to go poking in your business.NTA.
Honestly i feel if even touching a meat product and feeding it to what is naturally a meat eating dog is somehow offensive to a vegan that they need to grow up and realize them not eating some things is not some holy position where coming into contact with the things you dont like to eat will somehow melt your skin off and dirty you. Also that OP in the geeky family was in the right I feel. No one in the family made any kind of attempt to meet them halfway and just support them in their interests and instead demanded and demeaned them for not sharing theirs. OP is in no way obligated to be a free babysitter for them
The first segment, with the doggie treats, practically defines narcissism and entitlement: Everyone else in the world MUST cater to me and my needs even when there's no obvious need to. It's not my fault if I don't make them aware of it.
I've never petted a Shark. The closest thing was very friendly Stergon at the Shed Aquarium in Chicago about a year before the virus hit. Sturgeons are surprisingly soft with the exception of the ridges their plates (which are mostly under the skin). If an ED attempted to pick up and drop a sturgeon I'm sure he'd get worse than a slap on the wrists. Ppl value stergons up in the Great Lakes. I doubt they're letting ppl pet them with the virus, tho they refused to let ppl touch these fish without washing their hands beforehand and it's one pet per person.
The OP that feels like that odd man out in the family, your family are a bunch of followers with that attitude. You have the makings of a leader if you are not a follower yourself. Not everyone in the family has the same interests and they are selfish for thinking that way.
I feel like a vegan diet every once in a while is good but for their whole life? No. I don't give mine meat everyday but if we have some left from cooking then yes. Other than that they can have some canned food and meat flavor food. I just don't think you should cut meat entirely from their diet
i didnt know there is a shark petting zoo! The stupid guy reminds me of a woman who adopted a cat i fostered and returned her a day or two later because she was sleeping a lot!! And if you can't handle children! Dont have them and burden other people with them!
I have loved marine life forever. I'm 23 now and trying to become a marine biologist and what that dad did left me with an open mouth lol And yes, sharks are fun to touch. Never touch wild life, but ones in aquariums with an OK to touch are fine obviously. My dream is to study orcas professionally. I've studied them all of my life as a hobby but to be paid for it? D R E A M J O B
To sister who moved near family- offer to babysit when you want. Don't be a doormat. Make your demands clear: time limits, money, whatever. If you really do not want to be involved, it might be better not to live close by family. You have to mind your own sanity and health.
Honestly when I was hearing that Karen story about the lady cutting the line in front of the person who didn't work there, when she stopped I was half expecting her to make that lady wait until all the people in line when ahead of her. Because you work here and paying customers come first bull crap
ok so I'm not allowed to pick up the sharks at the aquarium, but what about the beach? I love picking up great whites and throwing them at my friends, we call it shark tag, first person to lose an arm has to buy lunch for everyone else, so much fun, a real shame what happened to shark attack Greg though.
To op with hayfever ,I also have hayfever and I take tablets to get rid of the affects of the hayfever ,consult a doctor and ask for medication for the hayfever ,and start taking it before spring starts as it takes a few days to completely block the affects of hayfever in your system .If you can't go to a doctor at the moment go to a chemist and ask what medicine you can use in the meantime ,NTA .
No your not the jerk here cuz some people want to be in a relationship or be married without having kids cuz their not ready to take care of one and taking care of a child is hard and stressful
To the OP about the BF wanting to bring in the child of his ex: tough call. True, the baby is innocent, but the parents AREN'T. They want to have the baby together, let them...but nobody asked you about this, so it's up to you on whether you want to stay with the boyfriend badly enough to be a stepmom.
To the OP with the geeky sister/parents: You have no more control over your own interests than you do over the interests of others. You like what you like. But if they only seek to define you by what you like instead of who you are, then that's THEIR fault for not respecting your interests while still relying on you to be there for them when they weren't there for you.
Why are these people trying to force you to be the father to a child that is not your. This family is very entitiled. Get out of the relationship and ghost the entire family.
I got to pet dog sharks when I was a kid. I remember how cute they were and they would swim up to you in groups of 3 to 5 so you could pet them. The stingrays however were very shy and stayed in the center. Unfortunately I don't remember the rest of that field trip because I was more into petting those sharks.
The parents and sister who expect the other sister to babysit obviously favor the sister who had kids. They have ignored the other and she owes them nothing. Playing favorites is cruel and deserves reprisal. NO she should not babysit those kids. Run Away OP, when you can, and never give your family a second thought. They won't give you one.
I know a Paleo vegan who owns a raw dog food store consisting of full frozen rabbits, sheep heads and all kinds of raw meats. She know it's healthier for our furry friends to eat meat as well as the three well respected dog trainers I hang out with.

Closest thing I've had to an aquatic petting zoo is when me and my cousins would go play in streams and finding frogs, turtles, and crawdads.
That entitled dad really jumped the shark! XD
I totally agree. And so what OP doesn't like the same things! She's allowed to like other things!
Joshua Ortega yeah
I get that Karen likes the sandpapery fish because she's abrasive like sandpaper, but I actually find it kind of sweet that she likes any fish. Nice character detail.
The Karen who got her knickers in a twist about the dog treats should have asked about them if she was so concerned. Given that dogs are carnivorous in the main, what on earth did she expect?
"Motel 6, they keep the lights mmmyess...". I nearly died laughing.
Evilkittyof doom didn’t the person in the story say that they blew their nose and it did nothing? The dad is just a butt
I hope the guy getting married have people who truly love them at their wedding. Obviously the new sister in law needs the wake up call that it's not okay to be so judgemental and grumpy.
I feel so bad for the Step Mom lady, she doesn't deserve to fell that way and it's her decision weather to be step-mom or not
I agree, but you are missing the point. Look at the timing. Guy is dating a woman. In less than nine months of getting engaged to another woman, the ex turns up pregnant. So many questions: Why did they break up? Was he still seeing the ex after he started dating OP? Would OP's fiance be willing to marry a single mom?
Holy crud your right
For the first story: You shouldn’t try force a dog on a diet when it’s not even you’re dog. OP ain’t in the wrong at all. Sure people wanna know what’s in they treats but the Karen should of asked before and you can’t force a random dog on a diet. Also she reminds me of that vegan teacher on TikTok 👁__👁💧
Also the second story: Nah OP ain’t in the wrong it’s the sisters fault and kinda the parents fault. You can’t be rude to someone cause they don’t like what you like. Don’t ask people to babysit you’re dang child for F R E E
agree with you on the dog treats I mean I would not assume a person would not be knowledgeable about dog treats would have meat products in them.
Typical vegan though, pushy and rude about their BS.
Also dogs are descendants of strict carnivores, they're been breed to be omnivores but I don't think a vegetarian or vegan diet would be healthy for a dog
Also I'd love to ask vegans and vegetarians who avoid meat because of eating something living why plants are OK, I mean plants are living too just less active and less expressive than people and animals do what makes eating plants better, vegans eat sustainably but some vegans have the same views that eating meat is horrible
His, his, his, not ours, ours, ours. This isn't a man you want to keep.
4th story: ok that Karen must need glasses or something if she thinks a 40 year old is a “stupid teenager!” Lol
I think the babysitter aunt does NOT need to conform to everyone else. If they want a relationship - they can also meet her half-way, but it sounds like they just want their position and not budge - so why should she? Sometimes the road less traveled is the more exciting and more gratifying.
Vegans are effing nuts. I’m having filet mignon for dinner. My dog eats meat. We have canine teeth for a reason.
Michael Athens They should get a rabbit then.
Dog do eat grains as it is in their dry dog food but a straight vegan diet for dogs is bad...

Own what you said to your sister. Don’t go all wishy-washy because your mom said you should share their interest. That’s a load of 💩. I don’t think you have to have the same interest to get along but that’s me.
no no. Pretend to be interested, and read enough to know some basics. But ALWAYS say it wrong. " Man when Hermoine died it was horrible." " Can you believe when Voldemort saved Harry's life?"

@@johnc8910 oh I know. I was talking about talking to the sister and family like that. Geeks HATE people who keep trolling them like that, so it will stop the requests
Story 1: NTA
Vegans need to understand that humans can choose what they can eat and how it nourishes them-animals cannot.
I've never petted a shark but I've petted a manta ray and it's wonderful. I would love to pet a shark one day.
I would leave him. Temporary pain. You are mature to make the decision to not be a stepmom. Do not let anyone bully you. Its not just the baby, he has to pay child support for the next 21 years.
first story: NTA dogs mostly eat meat and her dietary choices are not your concern
Second story: yeah let me just pick up a bloody shark while it was sleeping how would you like it if someone did that to you woke you up for no reason
third story: no your fine everyone has their own interests your family are in the wrong as you tried to show interest in their stuff but they never extended the same to you
fourth story: just an idiot who thinks everyone is below her people like that need to get a reality check
fifth story: No dont invite that woman she gave everyone else the bridesmaid treatment but not your girlfriend/fiance and never apologized for it your special day doesn't need a toxic person like that
sixth story: holy crap that place didnt respect its employees they deserved to have that happen
seventh story: holy crap NTA never give a person who cheated any leg room what a scumbag to not only cheat multiple time but then ask his wife's bestfriend husband if he can stay with them
eighth story: some father not to recognize their own kid's allergies what a jerk
ninth story: no NTA he got someone else pregnant a demands you become a step mom for a kid you have no obligation to and his family were out of line ganging up on you like that
tenth story: morons like that always try to get away with nonsense like this only to get their just deserts
The story with entitled sis in law ...I think it’s ur and ur bride’s day and ppl who respect and love her should only be allowed
I get not wanting to be a stepmom. Babies mamas can be crazy. The relationship is not you and him but the mom also. That can be to much for some.
Carnivorous Pet: [eats meat]
Karen: "That's not vegan! How dare you put that into my hand after I agreed to it!"

Hows op to know the woman is vegan if she does not tell her like every other vegan does 🤣
A true vegan would make it the first thing they mention to a new face.
Dog treats - you are not the jerk. The Karen was the jerk. I have two dogs and dogs eat meat.
Dogs don't have to. Search up, "vegan dog lives until 189."
I think the "non-geek" sister has a legit point.
I wouldn't date a guy who has a kid on the way with someone else.
She should have taken the kids to get mani-pedis and get their hair done and gone shopping LMAO let them see how the other side lives
Opie I just wanted to put one more thing your brother did start something the moment that his girlfriend chose to not make your fiance a bridesmaid so technically it's your wedding like I said and you don't have to invite her the same way she didn't invite your wife to become a bridesmaid then on top of that she has to bear and grin her teeth every time you'll have to take family photos and stuff like that see how that's not fair to you so yeah sorry to say your brother and his girlfriend started this the moment she pulled that crap he could have basically said you know what I'm not going to marry you if you can't accept my brother's girlfriend being a bridesmaid and if this is how you treat people I don't want to see what you're like has a mother of one of our kids is a little overweight so sorry to say Opie you know you're not the jerk and the situation like I said before your brother his girlfriend is or I meant to say wife I'm sorry then on top of that she knew what she was doing she even said it so bluntly to
Well I would not be a stepmom to ex boyfriend and Yes I will take my bags, run for it. I’m not ok with kids I have angry management issues.
Karen was tempted to break her vegan diet by dog treats. lol
NGL - Those pupparonis smell good. If I were vegan, I'd probably be tempted.... lol
1 subscriber= 5 Karens have to pay for babysitting
The OP that feels like that odd man out in the family, your family are a bunch of followers with that attitude. You have the makings of a leader if you are not a follower yourself. Not everyone in the family has the same interests and they are selfish for thinking that way.
Yeah...anyone who thinks cheating isn't a big deal is someone you NEVER want to trust in a committed relationship.
Should've fed the vegan to the dog.
Many vegans believe that humans are equal to dogs, so that makes pretty good sense.
When you realize he’s not lying when saying I’ll see you there and your camera turns on
Is Karen really this disillusioned? Dogs eat meat. You should have seen my breakfast... nothing for a vegan 🥩🍗🥓🍔🍟🍕

IS THE VEGAN STORY ABOUT THE KAREN ON TIKTOK WHO SAYS HORSES CANT RUN IN A STRAIGHT LINE??
I'm sorry what? No, you can't be serious.
For the dog story- definitely NTA, dogs eat meat, it is how it is, I've been vegetarian for 9 years and will still cook meat for my dogs
You might want to learn about a raw diet. Its healthier and you don't have to cook. Your dog will love it
@@bfdia51 sadly, I'm 14 and can't do that, but I'm planning on it whenever I can! I cook them treats and stuff that are healthier when I can
I feel like a vegan diet every once in a while is good but for their whole life? No. I don't give mine meat everyday but if we have some left from cooking then yes. Other than that they can have some canned food and meat flavor food. I just don't think you should cut meat entirely from their diet
@@lovelywolv that makes sense!

Every vegan I’ve ever known, including my nephew, died early.
Ah yes, because studies have not shown that vegans tend to live longer than the average American.
I share a name with ops dog and every time i heard the name i kept thinking some one was calling for me 🤣

Poor Shark Attck Greg..... F
First OP: NTA
Asking if dog treats have meat is like asking if your shirt had fabric :p
Holy crap, it sounds pretty funny when Karen says hmm, yes.
I swam with whale sharks before, that was cool!!!
Is it just me or anyone else, I wish we could hear some comments that were made on each post!
First story NTA. She has no right to be so demanding. If she does not want to handle animal products then she should have said so
AITA for inviting my aunt to my birthday party but not my idiot cousin (her son) because he's a selfish male version of a Karen
She doesn’t wanna be sidelined with a step child? Totally her call, stick with it
