mini one R56 battery change and coding with topdon artidiag Pro

Here I show how to change the battery on an R56 mini a very important step is to tell the car you have fitted a new battery by coding the battery to the car if you do not do this the car could overcharge the new battery which could reduce your batteries life significantly
This car was suffering from several different issues mainly to do with the instrument cluster and the power steering at first thought many people would say the steering was at fault but a weak battery can cause massive problems with lots of different things after using the topdon artidiag Pro to reset the steering and clear the codes the steering started working again that soon failed this showed me that the pump was fine but there was another fault I tested the battery and as it was an AGM battery the battery didn't look too bad but it's CCA was lower than it should be, the diagnostics for telling me there was a fault with the instrument cluster when I googled this it said it was most likely the battery so unfortunately the customer had to buy a new battery just to eliminate this
After refitting a new battery and recoding the car seems to be good 🙏
