Thanks for such a genuine and enthusiastic review! We are staying there just for a couple of nights in the middle of our first trip to CR and can't wait! We are also not resort people, but this one looks amazing :)
Hi Ann!! It was our first trip to Costa Rica two!! La Fortuna was our second destination while there. Nayara Springs is our resort standard now. 😊 If you haven’t already, be sure to check out our other Costa Rica videos for things to do.
Hello - I believe by "out to the city" you mean into the town of La Fortuna, correct? If so, the resort uses WhatsApp. We rented a car while in Costa Rica. About 15 minutes before we were ready to go into town, we used WhatsApp to request our car. The car would either be waiting for us at the lobby or we waited for a short period for the car. The resort staff is amazing. If you don't rent a car, I am sure the staff will assist you with obtaining transportation. Be sure to ask about that upon arrival if it is not mentioned in the introduction.
Hi Ana - We went to Jaco, Costa Rica before going to La Fortuna so we cannot speak on the drive from the airport to La Fortuna, but we can speak on the drive from the resort to San Jose and Jaco to La Fortuna. We flew into and out of San Jose. Waze took us on a mostly "flat" drive from La Fortuna to San Jose. The same cannot be said from Jaco to La Fortuna. More on that in a little bit. The only sketchy part of the drive from La Fortuna to San Jose was the last hour. It felt like it was mostly up and around curves. From Jaco to La Fortuna cut through the country. It was curvy at times and "residential." We plan on making a video about the drive so stay tuned.
Technically, yes. But there's a small window in rainy season, end of September to early October, that is actually reasonably dry. We had just a couple incidences of rain, and it was short lived (15 mins or so). Didn't affect what we were doing.
I’m sold! What a genuine review- sounds amazing!!
Yay! Thank you!

@EgnaciousB How was it?
How’s the drive? From the airport; also to the different activities you can do? Is it mountainous? Scary? Thanks.
