Miko, I am only om my "second paycheck" into my new budget and already I was able to pay an extra $225 towards debt! Budgeting by paycheck, using the calendar and highlighter method has made ALL the difference! All my money now has a purpose and a place to go. I can't wait to see my progress and continue my journey, many thanks to you!!!
For many people desperately wanting to get out of debt, you're a prime example of HOW to budget and how to stick with it! Setting money aside specifically for fun and personal care are great rewards as you journey on. I like the fact that you didn't go nuts over-spending or made exceptions month after month when you were still in debt. You're one of the few RUclipsrs that sets a No Spend goal BEFORE the month begins and I think that can be a great game changer. I always look forward to watching your videos because I know you're making great strides with your financial goals! Go Miko! Go Miko!
This is the most in-depth budgeting video I've ever seen, really well organized and breaks everything down step-by-step. I've been working to tighten up my finances and this is so helpful! Usually they just say, "create a budget" and then move on to the next thing. Thank you for posting!
OMG that book is perfection, ever time I look for budget system it always has too much to fill in........this is just right and straight to the point, love love love!
You can also make these spreadsheets on word or excel- there are templates for it. Just letting people know so you don’t feel like you can’t budget for a budget journal to fix your current budget situation.
Lol I'm so glad you said this. I love this channel but honestly that book is a little pricey to start budgeting. I've been finding A LOT of free printables to put together a budget binder.
Breayonna Mckinnon it is and I get that it’s a good sales move to plug in your own product with a tutorial on how to budget but if you really want to help people save- she should also give alternatives like- get some white envelopes and write “sinking funds” on it.
@@IHeArTrOcK20 exactly! I made my own envelopes. I found some prints online that I really liked and printed them out, cut them out using a template I found for FREE and "laminated" them using packing tape lol. I found the inspiration for that on Do It On A Dime youtube, I wish I could link a picture! They honestly came out so cute.
I'm on my first month of budgeting, and I've already put $200 extra to my debt. I'm thankful you're so transparent with your budgets; it's helpful to see the actual dollar amount and to see you truthfully using your method. I'm binging on everything you post. THANK YOU.
I came across your RUclips Channel not to long ago and it’s honestly changing my life. I have been struggling with my finances and you’ve inspired me to do what I’ve never been able to do! Thank you so much for being a great counselor/teacher ! This is helping so much
I am an avid planner/budget planner/ meal planner, and I thought I’d recommend Walmart Grocery Pickup! I don’t pull out cash for groceries anymore, because I do it all via the Walmart Grocery App😍 I am a mother of two young kids- when I took them to the grocery store, not only was it a hassle, they (and my husband) loved to throw so many extras into the cart that were not on my list. So by using Walmart’s grocery pickup, I order it all on the app- I know exactly how much I have to spend per week, I see how much I’m spending before I check out, and I get exactly what I need😃 It’s saved us so much money, and I don’t have to pray I’m under budget when I check out anymore😂 Sometimes they are out of some of the items or they’ll exchange for similar items, but overall it works amazingly!😍
I am so excited to start this new journey following you. I just want to say thank you for the resource library for some of the things we can print out. This really helps to get me started on my way till I can budget in enough to order you products and I can’t wait..., I guess I have to, but so far I am very hopeful. I have started my first two months of calendar budgeting and am budgeting to pay off my two lowest credit cards... yeah!!! Thanks you again!!!
I just found your channel and I LOVE it!! My kids are totally on board with your video game envelope and I am so excited to use all my new pintables! I just need to budget for new ink cartridges now....
You are an awesome organizer. I have a budget very similar but yours is more fancy..lol...and much more comprehensive. I love budgeting, and really getting into it. Thanks much!!😄
this is one of my favorite videos!!! i literally take notes and rewatch it just to make sure i am doing it right!! i am still trying to learn how to close my end of the month budget properly... the adding everything up is easy...its everything else that i am struggling. i will get it... i dnt do cash envelopes..scares the heck out of me carrying cash...ever since i was robbed i just cant bring myself to start carrying cash... took me a year to sort everything out.
How can I focus without thinking "Dang her skin is so clear, Where is the video on how to get clear skin at 🤔😂. Saving is hard but being in debt is harder. It is all about saving 💵💲💰s. Keep these great videos coming..
Thank you for this video! I randomly came across this ad it was exactly what I needed to see. I'm currently working on paying down debt and hoping to start saving, so it's great to see how you financially organize things and the tips you have were all great!
This is my first time watching you and I have to say, Amazing!! So clean, so organized and so beautiful! I went to see your older videos afterwards, I definitely love the setup/look on this video most! Keep it up! And thanks for the awesome video.
Cash envelope sounds like a great idea, especially for those who have trouble sticking to their goals. For me, I have a separate goals under my bank account so I’m earning the interest while keeping/tracking my goals. Also, credit cards are great for those with self control. Many cashback and discounts for different deals.
I think you should be on NBC CBS and ABC talking about what you do, finances are so important and it is my understand we stopped teaching basic understanding of this within the school system because everyone has to go to college. Side Note: We bailed out the Auto Company's why not bail out Students !!!!! Thank you again for a wonderful video
My school still teaches it but the fact is I’m one of the students that chooses to do them. There like less than 10 other students and they promote the classes. Students just chose to play band or be in theater or art than learn about financing or money matters.
I actually do a combo of a monthly budget and a "by paycheck". I make my monthly budget and then I assign them to come out a specific paycheck. Then I revisit each week (both my husband and I get paid weekly at the moment) because we all know crap happens and if you don't make allowances for that you get in trouble.
I would really love if the cash envelope breakdown was available as a printable. You essentially can’t get this form or the debt repayment form without buying the workbook. For me that makes me pay $27 for 2 sheets. I bought the other printables already.
I am loving these teller slips! I also like the idea of saving the change. I will try to start doing that. Planning ahead for budgeting. Great videos Miko!I am so glad that I have been with you since Instagram! I need a misc. envelope too! Please add previous videos in the cards so I can click on them and watch them right after this one. It’s easier for the viewer. Let me know if you need help doing this. And a watch all playlist!
So what do you do if you go to walmart and buy groceries but also need to pick up cleaning supplies? Do you do two different transactions? What if you need to also buy beauty products?
That used to be my biggest issue.. what I started doing was using my credit card in those situations and then taking the cash out of the corresponding envelopes to pay back my credit card. Just make sure you aren't overspending.
@John Lester Yes I do watch Dave Ramsey but everyone has their own way that works for them. If you can't stick to your budget with a credit card then clearly that doesn't work for you.
I have newbie question... what are you doing with your change when your using the envelope system. Are you just rounding down and stashing the change in a “piggy bank”?
Hi Miko, is there any reason, besides your love for designing, that you change your cash envelopes each month? I ask because I’ll rather save money keeping the same cash envelopes until I can’t usen no more. Thanks a lot for your response ;) I appreciate you and what you do! Thank you !
For the sinking funds, won't it make more sense to put the cash into several high yield savings accounts so you can earn some interest on that money while you save up for the event?
Does your boyfriend also follow the cash envelope method? So far I haven't seen anyone mention an example with their significant other. BTW.. your glow is GORGEOUS 😍
Quick Question: I need to find a category for the following: You go into Starbucks, or Dunkin and you reload let say $15.00 or maybe $22.00 or what ever amount what is a good category to put this in? Hello, I wanted to say thank-you sincerely! Even though I'm not mom nor have a kid yet but, I'm proud supportive of The Budget Mom TBM system. I have a question regarding the wallet enveloped that you store your cash involved inside. Where can I purchase one and does come with more settle colors?
You are very on top of everything, especially now being debt free. But I have a question regarding your goals, when is saving for retirement in your financial goals?
Check out Dave Ramsey's Baby steps. Retirement is Step 4. She's currently saving to buy a house (Step 3.B) so I'm guessing once she's done that she'll start adding more to retirement. Maybe she can reply as well, so we both know:)
I liked your sunflower cash envelopes . They are so nice and would like to purchase some in September 2019. I could not find your filofax video in the description box. Which one is it? Wow you are SOOO beautiful! I want to be like you when I grow up😩😩..well I’m already grown up lol! I’ve been following your paycheck budgeting plan and I love it already! I’ve only done one paycheck so far but I am so excited to keep this going and changing my life. I want to be a boss mom like you. You work so hard and you make me want to work even harder for my family. You’re awesome
So good that you have a money metod that works for you. And I'm all for having a seperate budget from your partner, me and my partner do the same. Rewards ARE important along the way for motivation. Keep up the good work and feel proud of what you have accomplished. All the best/Jan

How do you do this??? Every pay pay period I allocate for car to cover everything from row its to tires to registration so I will never not have funds for those a cases something happens. Now in oct I need to pay registration so how do I put this on my tracker since my tracker already says I allocated prior months for car?
This is my 2nd month to budget, I track but have not started Cash envelopes. I have begun Sinking fund envelopes but I missed the explanation about which Sinking fund categories you choose-I think I know how your brain was thinking but wanted to hear what you had to say. I can’t wait to get paid on Thursday so I can do my budgeting! I have over $100,000 of debt and I am going to pay it off with your methods!!!!!
I hoped it worked 🙏🏾
Did you pay off all your debt?

You two sound a little HHHhhhhmmmmmm, jealous. She is a motivator and you two sound very negative.
Dowager Princess take it as you’d like, homie. I’m giving my take on things and you do you.
For me, yesterday was my “no more credit card debt”🎉🎉🎉 thanks for being such an inspiration Kumiko ☺️❤️

Yes!!! It can be very daunting when you are paying off debt! It has made me depressed in the past.
Great tips and walkthrough as always! I like this camera setup!
I’d never think of having a budget for the 4th of July. What do you use it for? Like a bbq or something? Fireworks?
What do you do for travel budgeting? How do you save money and where do you find good deals on travel?
I would really love if the cash envelope breakdown was available as a printable. You essentially can’t get this form or the debt repayment form without buying the workbook. For me that makes me pay $27 for 2 sheets. I bought the other printables already.

Thank you for sharing. You explained the whys and where and the what really well and clearly so everything could be understood.thanks.
I love all the free printables! Thank you so much for those! Love your videos, just subscribed and been binge watching! Xoxo
Love how this video came out 🙂
Why am I just finding this!!???😍 I love it
Please check out Dave Ramsey!!! He is the source material
I love this video format! I love how we can see you explaining this. It's the little things but this video editing is bomb.
Newbie here! This is the first time I've come across your channel. Can you link to the budget planner please?
So what do you do if you go to walmart and buy groceries but also need to pick up cleaning supplies? Do you do two different transactions? What if you need to also buy beauty products?
That used to be my biggest issue.. what I started doing was using my credit card in those situations and then taking the cash out of the corresponding envelopes to pay back my credit card. Just make sure you aren't overspending.
@John Lester Because debit card is for bills only. The credit should only be used for purchases you already have the cash for.
@John Lester Yes I do watch Dave Ramsey but everyone has their own way that works for them. If you can't stick to your budget with a credit card then clearly that doesn't work for you.
Really love the way you spell things out.. you have a lot of wisdom to share!
carrying around that much cash frightens me
I have newbie question... what are you doing with your change when your using the envelope system. Are you just rounding down and stashing the change in a “piggy bank”?
Last month I took my loose change and brought it with me and used some if it ti tip and some of it to get back whole dollars
I love the end where you actually pause! you're incredible! keep it up!
Wow great video! Thanx for sharing!
I get paid tomorrow and am so excited to budget!!! Thank you for being such an inspiration ! Can’t wait to pre order the LRP
Love the quality and set up! Looks amazing!!
Nice job! My only recommendation would be to add a retirement fund
Hi Miko, is there any reason, besides your love for designing, that you change your cash envelopes each month? I ask because I’ll rather save money keeping the same cash envelopes until I can’t usen no more. Thanks a lot for your response ;) I appreciate you and what you do! Thank you !
I’m so happy I found you. You’re so inspirational!
I want to do the checking account cushion. I am feeling like I may get confused keeping track of the cushion vs regular $
For the sinking funds, won't it make more sense to put the cash into several high yield savings accounts so you can earn some interest on that money while you save up for the event?
Omg I was going they withdrawal waiting on ur video. I have been checking everyday. Lol
Me too!
Ditto! I saw her posting on FB and IG but I prefer RUclips
Yes! Anxiety attacks over here 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️ 😂
Haha, me too!!! I thought I was the only one checking daily, lol
Thanks for the info, love your voice so much!
Does your boyfriend also follow the cash envelope method? So far I haven't seen anyone mention an example with their significant other. BTW.. your glow is GORGEOUS 😍
omg I love love your videos so so much!!!
Yes! Been waiting for a video 😁 been rewatching all your other ones lol
Me too, lol
You are amazing!!! I LOVE this system and am thinking about giving it a try!
I follow you on ig and just realized you have RUclips! YESSS!!!! 🙌🏽
So I love the idea of the envelope system. My question is what would you recommend on the envelopes if you get paid weekly and not once a month?
Paula James Yes. Cash envelopes are awesome and create awareness. Every week is good.
Quick Question: I need to find a category for the following: You go into Starbucks, or Dunkin and you reload let say $15.00 or maybe $22.00 or what ever amount what is a good category to put this in? It would not be food, because you get food after you reload the card. I do not think Misc. For me since I do it so much it needs a category Any ideas or suggestions Thanks everyone I appreciate it very much Jay from Connecticut
Jay Chase Maybe you can have a category for reloadable cards
First time watching. This is exactly what I do thanks to dave ramsey and I've helped 5 friends also. It really works. I just use free printables I find on Google but I will definitely be purchasing yours
22:30 filofax saffiano wallet can get it on Amazon.
Wow, great video, thanks for all ur ideas!
Miss Jules I thought she didn’t follow Dave Ramsey. She is saving for colleges for her son so that wouldn’t follow the baby steps.
Miko! Thanks for your program... I have a question... How do you determine the amount for your sinking fund envelopes? Please and Thank You!
I need this workbook, where can I get it
I liked your sunflower cash envelopes . They are so nice and would like to purchase some in September 2019. I could not find your filofax video in the description box. Which one is it? I would also like to purchase one like you have in black . I would like to start my sinking fund system in September 2019. Thank you
Write a book please!!!! also, where do you keep your envelopes when you leave them at home??
Try using a safe
Glowing and toned 🥰
I Love this Video, reminds me of Dave Ramsey’s method. Question...
Is there advice for those not wanting to carry all this cash in this day and age?
Assuming there’s a way to do this using a debit card and some Cash envelopes ..
Suggestions appreciated...
This information is needed. Thank you so much
So good that you have a money metod that works for you. And I'm all for having a seperate budget from your partner, me and my partner do the same. Rewards ARE important along the way for motivation. Keep up the good work and feel proud of what you have accomplished. All the best/Jan
I’m going to start this in August!! Thanks Kimiko for the page and the Facebook group
Thank you for the behind the scenes intro. I just subscribed and liked this video. I am going to delve into your channel to try and improve my lifestyle. Can you please let me know if you do mentoring?
This really helped out. Love the break down.....thank you so much!
Question.....if you are self-employed, how do you budget for self-employment taxes?
Hi! Do you recommend to have online bills on auto draft or do you prefer to pay them manually? I know some online payments offer discounts if you set them on autopay. Thanks! This was a great video. I’m on a single income and really looking to up my budgeting game!
Love your laugh!!! Thanks for a great video.
I want those envelopes! looks like fun! Lol
Hi! Great video! I have a question: does the digital budget book allow you to resize it to fit another planner? I have a small to-go planner and would hate to buy it if it’s not able to be scaled down. Thanks!
Long time waiting for ur vid ♥️
Interesting
I will be using this as single mom
Subscriptions is what I need to really keep track of!!!
You are amazing! I have a question though, what if we use costco credit card for some of our groceries so we can get cash back? im trying to think of a way to work that within the cash envelope system.
So excited to see you post again was starting to go through withdrawals. 🤗
I'm super curious about how much time you spend per day and/or week maintaining all of this!
Where on your site can I find the filofax? Do you have a link?
I think it's better to not look at brands at all! I can't tell you how many times the store brand has been MORE expensive! Just this week I went to walmart and the Libby brand veggies were 10 cents cheaper then the walmart brand! I am NOT brand loyal. If the generic brand is cheaper that's what I get if it's not then I don't.
Beautiful and smart - inside and out :)
How do you do this??? Every pay pay period I allocate for car to cover everything from row its to tires to registration so I will never not have funds for those a cases something happens. Now in oct I need to pay registration so how do I put this on my tracker since my tracker already says I allocated prior months for car?
You didn’t talk about the back to school envelope great video this helped me a
Lot
Great job Miko 🥰
This is my 2nd month to budget, I track but have not started Cash envelopes. I have begun Sinking fund envelopes but I missed the explanation about which Sinking fund categories you choose-I think I know how your brain was thinking but wanted to hear what you had to say. Plus I know how I came up with my dollar amounts for each fund I chose but how did you come up with your amounts? Thank you.
Do you use a heavier paper to print out your cash envelopes?
