Mate, stop the hate... can't you see the entire video was recorded in 100,000 FPS aka super slow motion. Otherwise it would have been impossible for the human eye to see this guy running.
Also, he isn't the fastest and isn't as experienced as bolt and powell. If he gave the boots to them for trying, they could run at a faster speed for longer. Since they are many times faster, they should both shatter the 9.58 record
So uh... as a lifelong runner there are a ton of things wrong with this. Immediately you can see how unnatural this forces your stride to be, it looks like he is driving his knees outward instead of forward which is a big waste of energy, will cause your core to rotate, not great for your hips over prolonged periods. Secondly, if he paid any damn attention to the Ostrich and really any fast animal for that matter, he'd actually see they spring off their fore foot. The heel makes contact, but force is shifted to the fore foot as the animal drives forward, and you can see that it is still powering from there as the toes splay out on the back portion of the strong. His whack contraption utilizes none of that, and doubles down on a mechanically inefficient heel stride. This looked painful overall, his knee is practically hyper extending on every step. This doesn't even take into account that by using this, you are now not using all your body mechanics and musculature in proper conjunction. His feet and ankles aren't receiving the same conditioning they normally would from running, and those need to develop in tandem with the rest of your muscles to have a healthy correct stride. In the end he is really just short changing himself because he didn't actually study body mechanics enough and created a heel stride machine.
Mercenary Sloth No lmao, you can't sprint in these, they're specifically designed so that you can go fast with little effort, and conserve stamina, if you tried sprinting, you would fall over.
@@FPS-Drew more than that but accurate im 18 and i can surely run faster than this thing honestly i think this is only good for long distances but short speed runs you will get dusted by a average runner.c
yup.. I feel you gotta add some type of contraption all the way to your hips that would help generate power for those things to really work. he'd probably tear something if he reached 45mph.
Nah. There is no math that can tell you how fast Bolt runs just by looking at the total time and distance. You can calculate the average speed of Bolt, but that won't tell you if he "can hit 28 mph". That implies instantaneous speed not average speed.
Hey man! These are completely awesome! I'm almost in tears thinking of being able to run again. My feet knees and hips cannot take the shock. The 'Trick' 2 using the Bionic Ostrich Boots is thinking like da ostrich = I can run 40 mph = "I AM OSTRICH"... Now working on my pair of Bionic Cheetah Boots = I can run 60 mph = "I am Cheetah"...
He probably spent more time working shitty jobs just to be able to afford his prototypes. When he could had studied to be an engineer and done it all years ago.
I honestly don't think that they allow him to move faster. However, I acknowledge that this is still a ways away from being perfect. When he can make it lighter, more durable and less awkward to move around in, then I think it could help one move faster than normal. Keep up the hard work, I look forward to seeing where this goes in the future.
What these need is to include the foot and ankle movement and the power from the calf. Normally you use your foot, with power from the calf to push yourself further on every step, which is completely replaced by these boots. Foot, ankle and calf don't seem to be used at all in his boots, since they are attached stiff to the lower leg/foot. If he would include the natural foot/calf movement and enhance this power with the one from his boots, he could probably double the length of each stride and also gain a lot more control.
Larn Regis it also seems like it would have the potential to cause injury over time because of the lack of inclusion of the foot and calf. when he's running you can see his posture is off.
Larn Regis well I bet he thought that too, but you find when the body is going that fast there needs to be real support for the ankles and feet due to the pressure on the joints. I only say this because when I would skate behind a motorcycle I needed serious knee support, plus I wore military high top boots so my legs could take it.
I'm really impressed by this guy! Why are people so rude and mean? Just be happy someone out there is using their intellect to create something cool instead of posting useless comments on RUclips like us!
Where as someone might not have the same power as others the boots themselves if used by the correct output of strength and balance could be used to reach higher speeds the way he is running is awkward but if he were to make the boots fit the more natural aspect of the human limbs instead of focusing on mainly recreating things seen in other animals he could very well have a bionic attachment that would revolutionize running simply creating stored energy to be used the better idea might be to make the foot holding place at the back of the boot making the center of balance uneven so you would have to lean forward to run
Sham Sher comments on RUclips are not useless they are very entertaining, more so than this guys failure of a "dream" following your dream is overrated.
Fucking love these type of humans, they make the world go around. Man I was laughed of my ass trying to make shoes that can make me dunk on an basketball court. Never made them because of bullying. You really inspired me to get back at it.
I think it's a great design, it might not make you fastest but it will make you run faster with much smaller effort and less injury. The reason he does not look so fast, is it takes time for those rubbers to stretch and release so you can't move your leg faser than that. Thus you can't go sprinting with with these boots yet but it it can definitely make you much faster if you were to go for marathon.
Imagine jogging but instead of having to lift your own weight and counter spring lifts a good percentage of it. If you've ever done a sport you must know how it feels when your legs get heavy and a jog is the least efficient way to handle weight yet its what we fall into when tired. The ostrich, like all birds basically walks on its toes, its knees balance behind it's feet whereas we use our thighs to crane weight from in front. To be honest I'm not sure what the total trade off is but looking at the evolution of sprinting land animals there must be one. In this case the bionic boots guy must gain weight to power efficiency, he gains stride at the cost of weight however the weight is offset by an artificial elastic counter weight system. While we might have tendon elasticity it is prone to wear and out bodies excrete an acid which alerts our brains of the wear to stimulate pain to back us off damaging out limbs. Even without the elastic spring system you can achieve great speeds on stilt boots, which to be honest his system might be inferior to.
+Mizo Lasri i mean....can u run 25 miles per hour? ucain bolt clocks in at around 26mph/ 10.46mps atm when sprinting. this dude is doing 25mph just by running normaly. hes not even sprinting because boots is too unyieldy to do so. its fast as fuck for human speed

I had learned long ago WALK or jog AS IF U HAVE A PLATE OF WINE GLASSES ON YOUR HEAD. The more u bounce as u walk the heavier your muscles think u are. When I had 2 walk 25 miles, I kept up my speed and emotes this method. It saves energy drammatically
I know there's a lot of people who tend to critique as skeptics, but the design in and of itself is brilliant, especially for the pace you can maintain in the boots. Imagine passing a guy riding a 10 speed...on foot. I think that's the point that a lot of people are missing. The guy is onto something that people may heckle now, but with the proper engineering and design, this could actually corner the market as a prosthetic for individuals who choose or want to continue in sports. Just a thought.
+Shawn C Totally agree, there are so many applications. Sports, soldiers, laborers, people who have been injured, etc. I don't think anyone sensible is heckling this dude. My only criticism (of the video title) would be that even with the boots I bet Usain Bolt could still take him in 100 meters!
+Jelly Donut Brilliant concept. I just wish he'd show some numbers on his top speed, acceleration, what speed he can comfortably sustain over long distance, etc. Yeah I bet Usain Bolt would beat him in the 100m. What would be more interesting is Usain Bolt in the 100m with the boot vs. without. Actually 100m would probably be too short a distance for the boot to give an advantage, my guess is that acceleration would be slower but once you reach top speed it will be easier to sustain that speed.
He's going fast af dude, barely any effort to do it to. He just looks like he's going really slow because of how big it makes him look, and also it looks super goofy from the way he moves. I could imagine having to retrain your arm muscle memory to even move with those things because the stride is so long. Each step he's taking is 10-12 ft, bigger than a basketball hoop. Those boots let average people run 25 mph, compared to Usain Bolts 27.
@@lugokomor I thought usain bolt could run 22 mph but omg 28 mph thats almost as fast as a car going down my street or as fast as me on my road bike going
Andrew Hampton JR - I saw the same thing. If he’s able to lean forward a bit more, he’ll then be able to push Back more than Up, increasing forward momentum. Just an observation. Carry on 😏
Funny how this video didn't talk about actual speed. It's not a matter of whether he runs faster than trained athletes. The question is can he run faster with them than he can without them. If so, how much faster? The boots need to amplify the forward thrust of his stride significantly to counter the extra energy he is burning because of their weight.
Exactly, why couldn't they do a simple speed test? Then when proven to amplify speed, give them to the fastest few men in the world to try and record the fastest human movement on foot ever.
They really might help someone run farther faster (like 5 miles or something) because of less wasted energy, but I feel like the design seems too bouncy for sprinting. They might help someone with bad knees and ankles as well.
Arm and hand bracers/guards would definitely be a good idea in case you need to catch yourself on a fall especially at speed. Plus the extra weight might actually help you as you pump your arms during the longer strides these boots give you.
accept hes going that speed well doing the equivalent of walking, so when you run out of breath after 10 minutes he can just go and go and go, and if walkings that speed even just jogging would run you out of the park
+KingPakratt10420 I think what would make it more useful is to extend the pads and supports in the bottom to get more of a sprinting position that would increase his speed but would need to wear protection if you trip
Actually, everything is backwards. He needs to redesign it to be used as a third knee. His ankle acting as his second. A knee at the very bottom of his foot that bends forward. His stride would triple. Also he needs to ditch the springs and go with pneumatic cylinders to give him more launch and shock absorption. The reversed knee will also aid in stopping distance. His ankle would have an exoskeleton to help with strength and support. Finally, everything should be built out of Carbon Fiber for durability and strength wile keeping the weight of it down. His Calf muscle would then become an essential piece of equipment as will the rest of his legs.
This invention propels him upwards when really you want to be going forward! So you cant really move your legs fast as you have to wait for your feet to touch back down! If you could just propel forward you could run so incredibly fast
Yeah it looks like the ostrich's upper leg might have more do with the speed, extending the knee joint when the thigh is near horizontal, the foot exerting force *parallel* to the ground. The hinge on his device looks like it's focussed on the vertical axis, and only adds forward momentum in proportion to the angle between your shin and the ground as it releases, maybe 30-40 degrees? I think anyone who's a quick runner probably recognises that feeling when you're at top speed and you're almost gliding on rails, weight a little forward, just the ball and toes of your feet sending the ground out behind you in a stream. I think the cables might need to stretch around the joint, the upper half of which is horizontal to the ground when it's extended by the cable's retraction.

Usain Bolt is a sprinter, these are meant for jogging.
Ik but the title says "fastest man in the world" you can sprint on these but it takes practice

No lmao, you can't sprint in these, they're specifically designed so that you can go fast with little effort, and conserve stamina, if you tried sprinting, you would fall over.

No mention of running speeds at all. Dislike. Also, clickbait title.
In the description he says it can reach 25 mph
Bolt can hit 28 mph, so sorry "not the fastest" clickbait
I think these would not only be amazing to try but would help so many people with the problem of atrophy. Is there anyway possible we can do a collaborative effort and video to show how they might help people who are borderline handicapped? Thank you! Blessings

Funniest comment on this vid.
ReKt I am 50 in the likes
Larn Regis
it also seems like it would have the potential to cause injury over time because of the lack of inclusion of the foot and calf. when he's running you can see his posture is off.
I think that's because the foot part is not forward like the balls of the feet. It's like he's running on his heels.
Larn Regis well I bet he thought that too, but you find when the body is going that fast there needs to be real support for the ankles and feet due to the pressure on the joints. I only say this because when I would skate behind a motorcycle I needed serious knee support, plus I wore military high top boots so my legs could take it.
no proof, but I believe he could have to need a hip replacement really soooon...
I'm really impressed by this guy! Why are people so rude and mean? Just be happy someone out there is using their intellect to create something cool instead of posting useless comments on RUclips like us!
no evidence at all, just looks like he's jogging
Where as someone might not have the same power as others the boots themselves if used by the correct output of strength and balance could be used to reach higher speeds the way he is running is awkward but if he were to make the boots fit the more natural aspect of the human limbs instead of focusing on mainly recreating things seen in other animals he could very well have a bionic attachment that would revolutionize running simply creating stored energy to be used the better idea might be to make the foot holding place at the back of the boot making the center of balance uneven so you would have to lean forward to run
Redstoneguru 1 that's very interesting! I'm more of a literary enthusiast so I'm amazed always by the mind of technical thinkers.

he was was talking about shoes.
alex you cant wear a trampoline on your foot
for sure most people aren't anywhere near as happy as when they were children - this guy is doing what he loves - can't beat that.
Dawa Sherpa I dunno, wiping out at full stride would hurt like hell.
Dawa Sherpa we have elastic springs just like ostriches. Idk how these would make you more efficient. I want proof
Dawa Sherpa I take it you have researched this
STILT BOOT SPRINGERS ARE BRILLIANT ,MASSIVE STRIDE. TOO.
Thanks! Now I can run away easily from the cops :)

+Jelly Donut
Brilliant concept.
+Shawn C
I agree the design is brilliant
Boots will be in Xgames in 10 years ....freestyle competition
Awesome!! He figured out how to wear 18lb shoes and run 8 mph.
Gavin Edde he’s not going 25. You can look at surrounding terrain and tell he’s not going 25 lol

Andrew Hampton JR yup.. I think he got enamored with his original ostrich design..
What you are saying is that the base should be larger right?
Andrew Hampton JR - I saw the same thing. If he’s able to lean forward a bit more, he’ll then be able to push Back more than Up, increasing forward momentum. Just an observation. Carry on 😏
Thank you! I was thinking this the whole time!
@@skywalkerrougeone5060 fun fact: when he was 7 he fucked or rather tried to fuck an ostrich. That's where his fascination with them began.
It's sensationalist press, all they do is spoil the sience behind everything they cover, and I hate them for that.
Not to mention that these are basically designed for heel-running, which is NOT the faster way to run.
There’s also effort put into balancing while wearing them.
He did say 45mph.

They really might help someone run farther faster (like 5 miles or something) because of less wasted energy, but I feel like the design seems too bouncy for sprinting. They might help someone with bad knees and ankles as well.
He doesn't look faster. He actually looks slower. It looks like an extremely awkward device too.

it looks like it could be fatal if you trip with these things on lol
Arm and hand bracers/guards would definitely be a good idea in case you need to catch yourself on a fall especially at speed. Plus the extra weight might actually help you as you pump your arms during the longer strides these boots give you.
Yeah, just like falling on a bike or just tripping for real.

He looks slower in them.
Now if they were strong springs, that propelled you forward, then yeah, he’d probably be faster
Looks sweet, good job man! I was wondering, are you not able to lift your knees higher? Also, what muscle group do you feel the most when running?
I was wondering about the calf muscle. It doesn't seem to be getting any exercise at all. I don't see the ankle moving.
That would be epic.
Any ideas for the aerodynamics of it?
I would 100% buy these if they ever come out XD
He looks a fast as an average runner at best.
When you play too much advanced warefare
I see potential for sure. I like that it's not hydrolic
I love how you didnt even pay for the song from Audio Jungle.
This invention propels him upwards when really you want to be going forward! So you cant really move your legs fast as you have to wait for your feet to touch back down! If you could just propel forward you could run so incredibly fast
Yeah it actually seems like it'd work better if the stilt mechanism somehow drew itself backwards before pushing back downwards.
@@marcusdaloia2974 yeah exactly, needs a rework
