The Franklin cover up never got a chance to air that Monday night back in the 1980s but a few people managed to steal some copies and give it to Nebraska state senator John DeCamp who saw the film and went on a vengeance crusade to uproot this conspiracy he would later lose his seat for the Nebraska congressional seat everything's by design not by accident

It was a literal conspiracy it got pulled from the theater . It was one of John Carpenter's best box office moneymaking movies when it was out the first couple of weeks . And this was in the fall I think when you usually don't make as much in the summer . Anyway , Universal pulled it after a couple weeks BUT then the studio system was still counting ticket numbers sold which was zero tickets . If you research it , they say they pulled it out because it wasn't selling tickets . One reason it was pulled was the economy was as bad as shown in the movie . All the homeless people in the movie were really homeless people . Reaganomics really screwed up the American economy . It had to be pulled to protect Bush's presidential candidacy .

the way that right happened in the movie was so low key. lol. most movies would make such a big deal about grandstanding and making sure the audience knew how epic it was but there was no bullshit. they just started arguing, one thing led to another and then before you knew it they were going at it like two stubborn bears! and it was really more ridiculous than anything. it made it feel real like, man, how ridiculous it would be to get in a right like that! but it could happen!

John Carpenter is a cool dude was such a unique voice from Hollywood in the 80's and 90's. Always interesting, his movies always bring a smile and while Escape From New York and Big Trouble are two of my all time favorite movies, The Thing is a modern masterpiece. Although his other movies show various levels of polish (and very different mood or motivation from Mr Carpenter) and quality in some areas is super patchy, I always rushed to see a new Carpenter movie.

Isn't it just like those crazy cats who have that "lizard people" conspiracy theory? Crazy cats. But it plays into the traditional jealousy/suspicion of the ruling class from the under classes. We always look up and wonder why those idiots get to be so special and these kind of theories are almost comforting because wouldn't it be cool if we didn't have to feel like failures compared to the rich because we're all really victims of some huge plot.

Yes you are right , Carpenter really wanted to wake us up !

    • @justinkirschenman2232
      @justinkirschenman2232 4 года назад +2

@@jaycee8334 It's not that he necessarily wanted to wake us up, these people that the movie was about always tell us what they are going to do to us.
There is plenty of material on what is called "revelation of the method".
These people have to tell us what they are going to do to us.
They think that if they tell us, and they don't hang for it, they have our permission.
That's an extremely simplified explanation of it.
They don't care if it's cryptic (movies, books and music) or out in the open (the great rest, the fourth industrial revolution, mandatory vaccinations, immunity passports), all that matters is that we have been exposed to the idea.
I don't believe Carpenter was warning us, he was asking for our permission.
      Same with Huxley and Orwell.

i SO love the power of coincidence!
i JUST caught, studied and CONCLUDED that in Avengers: Age of Ultron, it is next to impossible for Clint Barton to have landed a bullseye past Tony Stark on a dartboard during the sequence in his family 'Safehouse'.
Arriving here to watch this during my run of They Live clips, I now hear Keith David say, "It's all about ANGLES." and mention 'selling it'.
The MCU sold audiences a TON of b.s. that we bought within their storylines.
For people through decades of exposure, to repeatedly believe increasingly far-fetched yet everyday things are possible, when they aren't...is intended and more than quantifiable to Hollywood and anyone else paying attention.
    Like most of us don't.
