Back in the late 1980s as an employee of the Chicago & North Western Railway I got the rare opportunity to walk underneath C&NW 1385 in the service pit at the Butler diesel shop near Milwaukee, WI. Nice story and thanks for sharing!

1385 ran the 1982 "PROSPERITY SPECIAL" when it was rebuilt here in Green Bay at the Northside Roundhouse, plus ➕ I got numerous photos 📸 of 1385 departing on the CNW LAKESHORE DIVISION THROUGH MANITOWOC AND SHEBOYGAN. Several years later I also got Kodak Super 8mm home movies further along the line at Port Washington and Mequon, and also the Audio cassette sound effects tapes. Luckily soon I can transfer both film and sound together on the new digital camera 📷 format!! HI IN MAY 2023A.D.!!-! ALL ABOARD.!!-! HI 👋 👋 HIGHBALL,!!-!

1385 has a Brand New Custom Welded Boiler. Which was built in St. Louis, and sent to the rebuilding shop for farm 🚜 equipment, near Baraboo, then reassembled, and brought back to the M.C.RY.M. HI IN MAY 2023A.D.

Build by ALCO in 1907 and placed in Chicago & Northwestern services the following month. #1385 pulls both freight and passenger trains throughout the C&NW System until retired in 1959.

if he does a frisco nothern more than likely it would be the 4500, that one has the most extensive history and there is a good chance it will run again in the not too distant future
