Brad - this detailed walkthrough is fantastic! I have my first 10 D. Regia seeds incoming and have been very nervous with reading about so many peoples' challenges/ failures keeping this 'sundew' alive past the 1-2 inch leaf length phase, but now I'm more confident knowing some things to try when it does happen. Thanks so much from a new carnivorous plant fan!
They look pretty & carnivorous?! How interesting , a total conversation piece. I want to buy one or two for my home in the summer time. So they keep the place bug free but it seems to me that you went to great lengths to grow them. Do you think buying them would be a good idea for someone who wouldn't have time for too much maintenance. If not are all carnivorous plants high maintenance?
Very detailed info, great stuff. I'm stratifying some ping seeds right now & grow some capensis (red & alba forms). Was thinking about expanding into some other Sundews next season & you've given some great tips for the kings. Thanks again!
Just bought a sundew today!!! Really pleased with it its caught some flies already. I also have sarracenia barba too, love that plant as well. Thanks for the info!!
I loved your video I have a cape sundew and it's in its dormant part right now , so I wanted to transplant it now while I can , thank you fur sharing your info it was really helpful and not boring, good job
I started growing these from seed and I have been having nothing but issues. They all germinated well for me and then when they got about 3 or 4 true leaves on them they just started dying on me and a lot of them have been growing this fuzzy mold or fungus on them and cannot get it to stop. Could you give me any advice or pointers? I would really appreciate it.
You are the best brad... Will try out your ways :) i recently ordered venus flytrap and a mix of sundews and will follow all your videos on these, hope my seeds grow :) Any advice for me on my region? I live in northeastern india..
got my germinated ones. been about a week now since sprouting. hey brad, ever try a weather hack, like for these, I googled Bainskloof weather and am trying to mock it's environment
***** The Koi pellets used to feed pond fish? That's interesting. I'll have to see if any of your videos show that procedure. I just got my bog garden last week and amoung the nine plants there are three sundews.
New subscriber here thank you for showing us the easy way i just bougth 2 sundews they are so cute that i want to do there own terranium plus my mom and sister and daugther want one thank u for this great video keep them cuming
I have a problem with D.capensis Alba.I bought two of them and none of them is not producing due(that sticky thing on leves)so they can't hunt.Maybe they had a shock beacuse they didn't get watered maybe for a week but soil was little bit moist.Help me!
I really really reallyyyyyy like you Brad Taylor. I'm a boy I like you because you have carnivorous plant, know their exact type and you have so many. Soooo, I like you.
I've been trying to grow regia from seeds and have not gotten anywhere. There is like zero information out there on how to grow these from seed and it's frustrating. I'm on my second batch of 10 seeds. They sprout fine and get a number of true leaves then either grow a fungus or just die on their own, I've tried every thing switching things up but nothing works. I really need some advice.
Can we please see a video of how sundews work and a question.Do sundews have seeds?and also where do you buy sundews? If you know the answer please answer. By the way have my own Venus flytrap plant.

Are they still alive?
Could you do an update of how they are doing now? Plus any other tips you have discovered along the way. :-)

Not really most can be fed about once a month. King Sundew's are more like animals. They are ALWAYS hungry.
Im just seeing this now & they look really good. Do u have any updates on these plants or have u sold them.

I like you because you know a lot about carnivorous plants because I like carnivorous plants. So, yeah...
What do you feed them, and how to do you feed them? Great video btw...
Jeera Indica I feed them crushed Koi pellets
***** The Koi pellets used to feed pond fish? That's interesting. I'll have to see if any of your videos show that procedure. I just got my bog garden last week and amoung the nine plants there are three sundews.
***** How do you make a sundew produce dew? -czwolf
Stephanie Zonin High Humidity and as much light as possible
How often do you do the 10 minute watering?
my sundew germinated in the parent pot and in a neighboring pot that didn't have anything in it except moss.
Wait they grew that fast. That's cool.
I ordered tiny Sundews smallest ones don’t look good ends are turning black! I planted in Sphagnum moss n perlite. Have them pretty moist
I owned Sundews once, they started growing in other carnivorous plants ports and earned the name “hunger weeds.”
Did you say you feed them with the dust at the bottom of coy pellets? Like fish food?
What kind of dormancy do they need I live in NC zone 7
How tall are your pots ?
I noticed today in the same pot I have my ~2 inch D. Capensis I have 4 ~3mm D.Spathulata what should I do?
Great info
where did u get the seeds from?!
New subscriber here thank you for showing us the easy way i just bougth 2 sundews they are so cute that i want to do there own terranium plus my mom and sister and daugther want one thank u for this great video keep them cuming
Where can I get these? They're really hard to find.Pretty much everywhere
Seth California Carnivorous!
Thanks for this tutorial! :-D
Are these plants the ones you showed germinating in another video?
Yes you bet
How warm is warm for these plants
I mean what temp should they be grown in?
75 F and up is warm, 85F would start to worry me. Night lows are 53-55F, below 40 F would start to worry me.
Ok... Thanks :)
I grow these under 8x54 T5 HO in my basement! They grow like weeds!
***** Hello, may I ask if these are regular cultivars or are they "big easy"s?
They are good old regular seeds, still doing well. Hated the summertime heat.
Nice! like
regards
Thanks!
