I'm glad the perception around the word is changing! I've begun watching American animation to broaden my horizons on different animation and art styles. I'm teaching myself animation and making a fan film! I've been working on it for 2.5 years so far!

Creating something with my own hands in a medium I have never done before feels amazing!!! I hope the final result gets seen by lots of people because I'm putting a ton of work into it, and I hope they enjoy it when they do!!
My goal is one of these days i can hopfully get the funding to pay for extra help and get my own project out there, cause indie animation is changing the scene for the best and making animation for accessibable to the public which is a good thing with people's passion projects such as myself!! Adults used to watch cartoons in theaters in the 1910's as shorts so most likely the same thing is happening with indie shows. Not to mention the people who know their craft will be successful with cartoons indies or big companies who know what their doing versus companies who are out of touch with it like Disney who barely give their 2d animated stuff depth anymore. My guess is that indies are going to make the next big companies some will rise and some will fall people will have to know how far this stuff will go with their content even if it's one or more people working on their projects.
Loved the video. Definitely think that normalizing big collaborative indie projects is the way to go for animators struggling in the industry. Being a designer/animator myself I can definitely attest to how long projects really take. I feel like people really don't take that into account when thinking about the viability of animation on platforms like RUclips. To remotely sustain yourself financially you would need at least some merch or pattern lined up and even then that's assuming you can get enough for living expenses, that's why collaborating with other animators is so crucial for big projects. Keep up the good shit :)

There was a project WIP of mine that I cancelled a few days back because I just could not get the willpower to finish it (its a long story), but after I got my job, learnt new software and got my hands on new hardware (like a new XP Pen 12), I'm hoping to come back and try something new with my new skills.
