i'm no car collector or have much knowledge about the hobby but i can't believe how reasonable the prices are on the cars and trucks in your videos. i'm 73 and remember all these vehicles and it's fun to see them again. i've always wanted something old to tinker with and drive but not a museum piece.
Back in the mid to late 80s we cruised The Square in Kankakee, IL. It was originally one square block downtown back in the 60s - mid 80s then they expanded it to 3 blocks going north-south and kept it 1 block wide going east-west. A lot of drinking, smoking, loving and fighting. I would bet you on any given Friday or Saturday summer night, there were at least 1,000 people there. Good times. 😎🏁
We drove up and down Central Avenue in the middle of Phoenix, Az. About a 4 mile strip. Hundreds of cars and trucks were cruising slow, fast, drag racing, and picking up girls all night. This usually started around 8 pm till midnight to 1 or 2. Fun times!
Back in the 70’s we cruised main st in concord NH….from Howdy beef all the way up to friendly ice cream, from dark till about 2am, burned about 1/2 tank gas, about 2-3 dollars….gas was in the .40$ a gallon range. A couple cheese burgers fries and a coke costs .90$ ….change back from a dollar !
We drove up and down what we called the Boulevard. We pulled into the McDonalds parking lot to eat or at a little stand that sold hamburgers etc. Fill your tank for 10 bucks or less and still could get something to eat. We would also drive to other little towns that were withing a 10 to 15 minute drive.
We use to drive out to a little town called Winfield, Alabama. On Saturday night everyone was crusing up and down their 1/4 mile main street! That was in 1975, I enjoyed that cars we would see at night and the girls we would meet even more!
I was out eating tonight and I saw another customer was on his phone and i heard this youtube video being played. I asked him if it was American Rod Shop he was watching and he said yes. He told he just started watching the videos a couple days ago. I told him I watch them also and post as Pappy ( I had on my Pappy shirt that my wife had made on her cricket) and that I also won some seat covers last week which are now in my truck. I thought it was great that I met someone who likes these videos also and was watching them while he ate. So the videos are getting out there and people are starting to watch them.
Had a 63 pickup 3/4 ton...put 3000 on the back and went down 1 with it on the calli coast.... ...what a tank of a beast........junior got it done that day!
When I was in high school in Mexico Missouri we only had 1 cruising spot, it was uptown from Hardees East to Hardees West. It was a 2 and half mile round trip, Sadly you can't cruise there anymore because the knuckleheads that came directly after us started tearing sh!t up and wanted to start fights all the time so if a cop sees you more than 3 times they will pull you over and tell you to come home. IF I had my pick out of these I'd take the 66 Dodge D100, those trucks were just cool trucks and make great hot-rods.
Loved watching your video on old trucks. I’ve always want to buy a ‘53 GMC pickup like the my father had when I was a wee little boy (now 72). I’ve always loved that body style of truck. Thanks for your videos.
South side of Indianapolis, we would drive a loop from the White Castle north to the Tee-Pee restaurant. Round and round all night picking up races in my brothers ‘69 Roadrunner.
Shooting the loop in Marion Ohio. Two one-way streets through downtown. Turn left at the end of downtown and over a block and left again. Repeat, repeat, & repeat. Lots of hot cars and people hanging out in parking lots.
When I got my license in 1973 we didn't cruise anywhere. It didn't matter if your destination was 2 blocks away, minimum speed was 100 mph. Ah Long Island, life in the fast lane.
Harvey's Broiler. Downey, CA. One of the original cruise 'n spots. On Friday, Saturday and most other nights you could drive through and see the hottest cars in Southern California, car service and restaurant.
I am very interested in that 63 Ranchero. But I can’t find out any information through Facebook. Is there anyway I could find out more information about that little truck?
Haha. I sold a 1968 true 1 ton international for 500$ two years ago. The only one of its kind in the USA. Special order 8 foot 0"" box 345 . A month later a saw the guy wo bought it had it 4 sale at 3500. One owner truck.
We cruised Whittier Blvd in Whittier Ca, we would park behind Wilson’s House of Suede and hang on the corner checking out the girls cruising. Then we would set a street race or 2 to win gas money!
You may have to have a half hour live show where everyone just bullshits telling everyone about days long past or projects they are working on now. Also I see there is 11.1 k subscribers now. It is growing soon it will be 100K someday.
This shows to be four months old, which is ok. I just wanted to say thank you for the non-interupted countdown because lately your newer videos have more imteruptions than television show. No disrespect intended, but thought you might want feed back on this.
