Wow! I've searched around quite a bit for covers of You're Missing and yours is the best I've seen/heard. I'll spread the word so far as I can. Impressive and an interesting use of natural acoustics (i.e., the church). Good on you!
Thank you so much for the compliment, I'm glad you enjoyed it! The defunct church is one of my favourite spaces. What drew you to searching for covers of You're Missing, if I may ask?
I'm drawn to performers and material that may be performing and/or useful in different ways. "You're Missing" laments a loved one gone (temporarily or permanently) from the singer's household. In my home, I've had two sons leave for long-term church missions - and found life w/o them very difficult. I'd sometimes sing "You're Missing" while inserting the words "too much room in my head (instead of bed), and thought of the "children" as their younger siblings. It helped me cope. Similarly, my older sister passed away a couple years ago and I thought the song aptly fit that situation as well (with minor changes in lyrics). Singers (like you) find a place in my mind with different stylings (however arranged) that fit my broader ideas of utility (not to be too clinical, so please consider my intent). Your rendition moved me, I suppose, because your performance in the church seemed to add some sort of spirituality I'd not noticed before. Bravo! Something new from a collection of sameness by many others (not that others were bad), which took the material to a different (and nice, I think) level. Thank you for asking. It was a very nice discovery for me. You don't need viewers like me to tell you how talented you are, of course - but talent usually means a good performance. I'm no expert, but your performance seemed to go beyond that. Thank you again for your inspiring work.
@@eddwardherron3452 Thank you so much. It means a great deal to get comments like this, actually. You might be surprised by the level of "Imposter syndrome" that many of us performers get. When I get positive feedback that encourages me, it is massive motivation to keep going, especially among the comments from audiences that I write and sing too many sad songs. Thank you so very much for sharing your story here. Sending peace and light! --aerynn
@@aerynnmusic As I've written before, Aeryn, your rendition of "You're Missing" seemed (to me) to have a spiritual quality which I appreciated very much. May I ask, though, if you'd ever consider covering Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah"? Recording within your favorite 'defunct' church may add something others have missed. Please don't think I'm being presumptuous; I'd never tell an artist her business! But your stylings and voice could take Hallelujah to a new level as well. Also, where can I purchase some of your music?
@@eddwardherron3452 Thank you so much for coming back to this-- It is so very welcome to hear what you'd be interested to hear from me! I've covered 'Hallelujah' a couple of times, mostly in the context of singing with my friend Helen and doing backing vocals for her. Indeed it would be lovely to record the song in Christ Church. If I can tag it along with working on my originals, I'll definitely do this. The only Cohen song I've done at my own gigs is 'If It Be Your Will'. My music is available on my website, www.aerynn.com or on any platform where you usually buy music, in iTunes or Amazon or wherever you like, under the name 'Aerynn'. Thank you!
Did my guitar fall off in the video? I'm confused! :D Thanks for the advice, I don't usually have any issues though, that I'm aware of. The leather guitar strap seems to keep everything in place if I'm standing.
This is beautiful. Well done!
Thank you so much! How did you come across it?
Such a beautiful rendition of Bruce's song. Thank you so much for sharing it.
Thank you for listening! Sad songs are my favourite 😍
wow - almost missed this....lovely as always thanks A
Thanks!! It was from a little event a few years ago, with a really great sound engineer in a lovely space. :)
Great performance! You got it.
Thank you, Enzo! Glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful!
Thank you! Hugs!

Thank you so much Risbo! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Are you a Bruce fan?
@@aerynnmusic yes I am! Have a nice day! 🍻🍻
Beautiful rendition. Lovely pure voice. Love the church window. Maybe do a Christian song in the same setting.
