Damn, I totally forgot about Steven universe due to the hiatus until I saw this video in my recemmended. I freaking love this show and it's a shame that it's treated like crap by Cartoon Network. I missed watching this show and I'm totally going to rewatch it after this video
How is it being treated like crap? CN greenlit the movie and they even put Sugar on a podcast to talk about the show. If they had something against SU they wouldve just cancelled it and given all the funds that go to SU to TTG or some other project.
if steven universe had a more regular animation schedule i could see a time skip. but this show takes too long as it is...i cant imagine the ratings are in a place to do time skips.

Well Peridot and Bismuth are there after all and as we know they're not even on Homeworld, but still poofed back on Earth. So I don't really think the pic's supposed to be accurate but rather it's just to be a nice thumbnail while showing the gist.

For reminder in most shows where they solve problems by talking, they usually have one or few villains what can't be persuaded as some people simply are irredeemable. It is generally when you know that someone is a hipster, if he claim that they persuade all villains in MLP. When in reality Chrysalis, Cozy and Tirek are still hostile, and Sombra and Stormking were literally destroyed. They usually persuade only those who already weren't just evil like Nightmare Moon, Discord, Tempest, Midnight or Changelings.

It would make situations like the Pink/Rose reveal all the more interesting or we get the tension of knowing White's plan but Steven doesn't and he's trusting her. We'd see the Crystal Gems training but we'd also see Steven freaking out cause he doesn't know if they're ok. We wouldn't be stuck with flashbacks that could come from unreliable narrators.
So just to point out if they do you split up the Crystal Gems across the universe that would be a good way to bring Lars back into the story By making him in the sun incinerator travel across the universe to collect the crystal gems…
I like to think that Rebecca watches theory videos with her storyboarding team and whenever they watch one that gets a plot point or something right then she just softly whispers "dang it."
I love this idea of them being separated It leads to a lot more conflict and problem solving and maybe we'll meet new characters while their trying to find the others

My theory: White Diamond will try to harvest Steven. In Catch and Release, when Peridot is released and sees the bubbles, she says, "Oh my stars. You're going to harvest me?" I think bubbling was originally used to harvest, which could be what happened to White Pearl, but PD turned it into something positive. At the end of "Legs From Here To Homeworld," he is transported to a room(it looks kinda like a stage) with bubbles. His punishment as PD? He gets harvested in front of all of homeworld.

So that’s why Lars is in space, Steven and his friends are on home world, and bismuth lapis and peridot are stuck on earth. Basically Lars and crew will have to find their way back to home world feeling more confident in themselves than ever but he’s first go back to earth and end up pickin Sadie, bismuth, lapis, and peridot up and heading to home world where they’ll see everyone but steven in some form of pain and struggling and will rescue them. Then save Steven and theyll all have to fight white diamond but they can’t do it alone and yellow and blue finally stand up to white and help them out and then all of homeworld ends up conflicted and wanting to follow their own diamonds so they eventually over power white and friends and fix homeworld
I think it would be fun to see Pearl dealing with being alone. I would love to see more character development with her, and we would definitely be able to keep in touch with the gems with Stevens dream powers if they all got separated. We are discovering new Steven powers, Deux-ex-machina style, so it only makes sense that he would be able to use his dream powers to allow us to observe the gems on their own. It would also develop his leadership capabilities.
Like you said, Steven is almost never truly alone, because even in episodes where Garnet, Amethyst or Pearl don't appear, he's usually with a human friend or another one of the Crystal Gems. I have a feeling that this will be expanded upon in one of the upcoming episodes, because Steven has gone through a lot of development since "Bubbled". I kind of want to see how Steven handles being on his own in an unfamiliar place. "Escapism", anyone?
Knowing Rebecca, I wouldn't be surprised if she ended the Show on everyone getting Bubbled by White and Pink getting pulled out of Steven. That's how desperate she is to convince people that the show is smart.
As always, wonderful theory! Very well explained and quite convincing, I might add. I totally agree! Separation would be a good tool to help the Crystal Gems get stronger, as it would force them outside of their comfort zone. Steven especially needs this, as like you said, he's only been truly alone one time in his life. Being alone now could force Steven to learn how to adapt to his environment, or could also make him crumble under pressure. It's a delicate situation, which is why I'm eager to see the next episode! I would really like to see some new Gems in this next one, even if it's just a background Gem! But these are just my thoughts, what are yours? :)
I really liked this theory! I also feel like of the gems were seperated it would be 2 by 2 like Peridot and Garnet, Pearl and Amethyst, Lapis and Bismuth, and Steven and Connie. Each of them (minus Steven and Connie) are paired with the gem/human which they don't have a real strong emotional conection with so that when they reunie they will all have a strong bong with each other and be even stronger than ever
Something I did note, Gem Harvest was recorded exactly a year before it aired, and that was a 30 minute special. Up until I realized AJ Michalka was in the picture, I thought they were recording reunited, because that shot was from June 2017, and Reunited aired July of 2018. However I guess it's different, and we can assume it's even more special considering it's taking even longer to air.

I’m calling it now... Blue and Yellow Diamond will fuse in order to save Pink (Steven) in an epic battle against White. Steven will possibly fuse with Alexandrite for this battle too.
Oooooooo, like in the second book in the wrinkle in time series when meg, Calvin, and Mr Jenkins learn how to kythe, that’s kind of like the scene when Steven is speaking to all of his friends during the diamond fight! (Kything is when you can move about and speak to others as you please without moving a muscle or being able to see) -I have some theories in the reply list of my post.
Now that I’m really thinking about it, this is explored many times throughout the series; melon Steven, the cluster, going into dreams, something else I might have missed.
One of the major points in the book is, “where does not matter” “size doesn’t even matter”, with this in mind I feel like if your theory comes into play, Steven will still be connected with the Crystal gems, so if they are Scatterd across the galaxy, he will eventually find them because he could communicate with them no matter how far away they are, so they could describe to Steven what their location looks like.
I thought you would make a Killa la Killa reference or consider it as inspiration since White Diamond looks strikingly similar to Ragyo and her pear has an eyepatch like Harime Nui
I love how Steven Universe contains many subtle/ not so subtle nods to anime and pop culture. My curreny favorite reference is actually related to a science fiction franchise. In some of the episodes in which Steven's room is shown, there is a poster in the background. The text on the poster says "Star Battlers", which is a obvious reference to Star Wars. Also, the fact that he owns several nintendo systems is cool too.
So I had a thought that if the crystal gems were to split it would push Steven to a state of depravity in which he changes completely as he would be truly alone and we would see more of what we was hinted at in the bubble when Steven was alone. Also this might be a whim but what if when eyeball mentioned coloration in bubble it was more than just part of the episode but foreshadowing to what Steven would be, a change in hue for a gem would probably mean a change in status as well as personality (Yes, I am referring to the Red Diamond theory).
I wonder if white will act in that cold manner when she speak to the other diamonds about pink's "game" or if she will just the biggest rage fit ever to shake the fabric of reality... Seems like the two are equally possible

Separation would be a good tool to help the Crystal Gems get stronger, as it would force them outside of their comfort zone. Steven especially needs this, as like you said, he's only been truly alone one time in his life. Being alone now could force Steven to learn how to adapt to his environment, or could also make him crumble under pressure. It's a delicate situation, which is why I'm eager to see the next episode! I would really like to see some new Gems in this next one, even if it's just a background Gem!

I really liked this theory! I also feel like of the gems were seperated it would be 2 by 2 like Peridot and Garnet, Pearl and Amethyst, Lapis and Bismuth, and Steven and Connie. Each of them (minus Steven and Connie) are paired with the gem/human which they don't have a real strong emotional conection with so that when they reunie they will all have a strong bong with each other and be even stronger than ever

Something I did note, Gem Harvest was recorded exactly a year before it aired, and that was a 30 minute special. Up until I realized AJ Michalka was in the picture, I thought they were recording reunited, because that shot was from June 2017, and Reunited aired July of 2018. However I guess it's different, and we can assume it's even more special considering it's taking even longer to air.

I’m calling it now... Blue and Yellow Diamond will fuse in order to save Pink (Steven) in an epic battle against White. Steven will possibly fuse with Alexandrite for this battle too.

Oooooooo, like in the second book in the wrinkle in time series when meg, Calvin, and Mr Jenkins learn how to kythe, that’s kind of like the scene when Steven is speaking to all of his friends during the diamond fight! (Kything is when you can move about and speak to others as you please without moving a muscle or being able to see)

Now that I’m really thinking about it, this is explored many times throughout the series; melon Steven, the cluster, going into dreams, something else I might have missed.
One of the major points in the book is, “where does not matter” “size doesn’t even matter”, with this in mind I feel like if your theory comes into play, Steven will still be connected with the Crystal gems, so if they are Scatterd across the galaxy, he will eventually find them because he could communicate with them no matter how far away they are, so they could describe to Steven what their location looks like.
I thought you would make a Killa la Killa reference or consider it as inspiration since White Diamond looks strikingly similar to Ragyo and her pear has an eyepatch like Harime Nui

I love how Steven Universe contains many subtle/ not so subtle nods to anime and pop culture. My curreny favorite reference is actually related to a science fiction franchise. In some of the episodes in which Steven's room is shown, there is a poster in the background. The text on the poster says "Star Battlers", which is a obvious reference to Star Wars. Also, the fact that he owns several nintendo systems is cool too.
I would be proud but she needs a plan... swap the crystal gems with the home world gems... diamonds shapeshift...
So I had a thought that if the crystal gems were to split it would push Steven to a state of depravity in which he changes completely as he would be truly alone and we would see more of what we was hinted at in the bubble when Steven was alone. Also this might be a whim but what if when eyeball mentioned coloration in bubble it was more than just part of the episode but foreshadowing to what Steven would be, a change in hue for a gem would probably mean a change in status as well as personality (Yes, I am referring to the Red Diamond theory).
I wonder if white will act in that cold manner when she speak to the other diamonds about pink's "game" or if she will just the biggest rage fit ever to shake the fabric of reality...
