    What a beautiful bio on your channels home page!
    Thank you for making such awesome/informative videos.
    So many people (god know why cause they don’t own or use them at a restaurant) hide their family recipes!
    Anyway - It’s nice to see a page sharing momma’s way, and not just another “How to” cooking video!
    Your pal,
    Ty

      Yes, I don't understand that myself, either... unless like you said, one is selling one's food for money.
      Thx again pal!!

    Hi, thanks for the video. What extras does seasoned salt have in it? I can get Aromat Seasoning, but I don't know if that is the same. The plate looked appealing, and I could almost smell and taste it. I often use chicken and, since I can't always get out into the bog we call the garden, I "grill" it on skewers in my oven. You get quite a nice BBQ charcoal effect with the heat and slightly scorched Oregano flavour. X

      Yiassou Dimitri... thank you for the lovely comment....
      Here are two links for making seasoned salt (at least a copy cat of one of the more popular brandnames out there)... the Aromat seems to have some extras.. that would probably change the flavour too much, such as the cloves... regular salt is fine... the seasoned salt adds a little but it is not necessary...
      Never made these in the oven... though I guess they would be fine under the broiler...
      Kali orexi!!! (grin)

    What’s Seasoning salt please?

    • @MomsGreekKitchen
      @MomsGreekKitchen  Месяц назад

      Hi Alice! Thank you for the question. Seasoned or seasoning salt is a combination of salt and other flavourings. It is common here in Canada where I live... Lawrey's and Hy's are two brand names that produce it. You can make your own or just use plain salt... will be just fine. If you want to make your own, here is the first recipe I found online...
      ¼ cup kosher salt
      4 teaspoons ground black pepper
      1 teaspoon paprika
      1 teaspoon garlic powder
      ½ teaspoon onion powder
      ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
      I hope that helps?? :)

    If you cut a few small pieces of tinfoil and wrap the tips of the skewer, it won't burn.

      Hi Justin.... true... but when you normally make over 30 of them, that is rather tedious... hahahaha... I don't mind the ends charred.... :) Thanks for the comment!

    how many pounds of meat did you say you used?? Also isn’t this kind of fatty when eating?

    • @MomsGreekKitchen
      @MomsGreekKitchen  Месяц назад

      Yiassou Alice!! I am not sure how many pounds I used, but use what you think you will need. The spicing is by eye/estimate each time, so I can't give precise measurements. It may take seasoning to where you think it is good, then frying up a piece to taste, and adjusting as needed. You will eventually get a good 'eye' for how it should look. That is one of the reasons I like the seasoned salt, because you can 'see' how much is on the meat, as opposed to regular salt which disappears.
      As to fatty-ness... as long as there aren't pieces that are fully fat, no, the fat, like in a sausage, makes the souvlaki juicy, tender and very tasty. You can again experiment with this... do one skewer with ONLY lean meat and one with a mix, as I have shown, and see which you prefer. If there is no or very little fat, you will find the meat rather dry... at least that is my opinion.
      Good luck and kali orexi!!
