Hi Michael, Adrian here from Johannesburg, South African. I loved your informative video, thank you. I own a 1981 W123 200AC MT , petrol and she was our entry level this side. I'm sending her for new engine mounts, L & R side this weekend, bought over the counter. Warm regards , Adrian Nel.
MAn, I wish I could hang out with ya! Love your videos. I too love the W123. I have two and looking at a 3rd. I have had 7 of them! They are my favorite cars! Thanks for the great videos!
Great video. I also watched the 2nd one. My dad's mercedes c200 1977 w123, has water in the passenger side rear footwell and rust on either side of that passenger side rear arch (front and back) . I unblocked the hole in the side of the boot as your part 2 video. Looking atr the rear passenger door, there are slits behind the half triangle rear mirror which were filled with bamboo leaves but there seems to be a fibre in those slits are they meant to be empty and where do they drain to please?
On each side of the car the oval air vents under the bright trim next to the back window are for air to escape the interior. They do not have water drains, and they should not have any fibrous material in them. If they do, it should be cleaned out.

Where do the rear sunroof drains exit? would it be possible to clean from the exit? I don't feel like removing my headliner
Thank you for all your videos! Please do a video on chasing down vacuum leaks for the car door locks!
Thanks for your support! The next time I get a car in the shop with a vacuum leak we'll try to film it.

Very informative video. Thanks Michael!
Thanks. Looking forward to part 2.
Great video, thanks, but... You kinda slipped right over the rear sunroof drain... Is it easily accessible with the lid attached?

@@michaelthemercedesguy thanks for replying. I will clean them out
Good job
Just use a length of speedo cable in a drill at slow speed.
My 85 300td station wagon leaks by gas pedal when it rains - are there other drains I need to check other than the two under the hood you show?
No, there aren't any other drains on a W123. The only other possibility is that your windshield seal needs to be replaced.
