Comfort isn't really a priority for most high fashion labels which is understandable, but the models need to at least be able to walk in the clothes.
Gone are the days when each of the models knew how to walk! They seem to be chosen for their lines/beauty only. A show transported you to a place of perfect grace and confident attitudes. Dunno if the problem is the training or the designs but each show has these cringeworthy moments.

Just because little here was to my taste doesn’t mean there was anything wrong! I intensely disliked most of the colours. However, the shoe designer should be forced to walk home in a pair of them: what the *fluff*..?!! Model after model with her spindly little ankles nearly snapping because the needle thin, high heels were just giving way. Horrible to watch; dangerous to work in - could cause long term injury. That’s not fashion, that’s stupidity and someone should have prevented it before those girls had to risk the runway.
Exactly, I personally see it as a fail if you create things that are very uncomfortable or dangerous for people to wear!

i was there for the rehearsal and many of the models were struggling with the shoes because they were uncomfortable or not fitting. maybe that's why they look pissed off/ are struggling walking

Most of the looks were very nice and practical. Though I watched another video with different camera angles for this show and some of the models were in a lot of discomfort. Some of the models took their shoes off or were falling and tripping over themselves. One model actually leaned over to an audience member for help due to her shoes. A couple of them actually fell down the stairs. There was also a lot of confusion about where to turn and walk so some of the models were going down the wrong aisle or doing a couple 360s before they found their way. In reality, this video makes everything look together but this show was actually a mess. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the models had injuries. Mind you, these models are trained to walk in difficult shoes and wear difficult garments so if they are having a difficult time, the design is to blame. And I say the designers to blame because it wasn’t just one mishap with one model, it was almost half of the fleet that either fell or took their shoes off or were struggling horribly throughout the entire show. I feel that Valentino did the models very dirty and shows style over functionality. And I know that shows like this aren’t always about functionality but if you have almost all of the model struggling to walk and falling and tripping then you need to reevaluate your design.
I saw that video, too! It was painful to see the models falling down the stairs. It soured my view of show.

I also noticed this. Whoever manages the logistics of the runway show, including the stylist, should be responsible for this. It looked very amateurish.

The looks are stunning. THE SHOW IS AWFUL. Half the models can’t walk in the heels. The other half looked starved high and deadpan. The others look scary angry mad. The models are clumped together literally almost walking on the back of each other’s heels. It is an awful production.
I agree. I found it difficult to focus on the clothes. Add to that the shots of the crowd and the further distraction of way too much pink (yes...I get it) to further distract the eye. Sadly...It was a messy production overall.
Despite the beautiful clothes, the runways was rather chaos.

Saw on another youtube video and on tiktok that the models were really struggling to walk on the runway :( Some even fell down some steps and alot of them took off their shoes mid-runway.

I've rarely seen such unhappy looking models. That's without even mentioning the chaos and injuries that have been caused by the shoes being ill-fitted/badly designed.
It's hard to be aesthetic when you're in pain.

Clothes are ✨✨✨ A M A Z I N G l!! But a lot of the models are uncomfortably anorexic frail looking. Beautiful show combined with unconventional , unique faces I get, and I'm all for it. Just way too skinny

Exactly! When did the "malnourished" anesthetic become popular. So much for worrying about the impact of fashion/models to young girls and boys. The "malnourished" look was all over the Spring/Sunner 2023 runways except for Donetella Versache, who had a tribute to 90s models who have yet to be topped! What a time for fashion and models.
Though...the design, fabric, flow, elegence and more of the clothes were just exceptional...if I could get past the distraction of all the sickly, angry looking models.

Они все такие разные (здесь скорее подойдёт слова "хаотичные"), мужчины крадутся, женщины ковыляют и спотыкаются, такой страх в глазах у некоторых, читается "только бы не грохнуться". Я понимаю, разное бывает и безусловно они нервничают, но слишком уж часто привлекали внимание эти маленькие неувязки, складывается чувство, что стоило больше времени уделить прогону и откорректировать походку и темп, так как дистанция между моделями, кажется, тоже скакала, пройди они первый рубеж. Общее впечатление весьма напряжённое. Не знаю, но я не могу смотреть на одежду, пока переживаю за то, что модели сейчас переломают себе ноги...

At times it was challenging to focus on the clothes when the models seemed too thin, too weak to walk. Several models seemed to struggle walking. I hope that all of the models are healthy!!

I’m assuming he was NOT ready to release this collection. The heals were clearly broken or unfinished. The models didn’t seem to know where the runway was. And that yellow skirt.. was that supposed to be a pocket or why did the model look so uncomfortable lol

Beautiful collection but these models who can’t walk totally ruined it. The clothes were relaxed and the shoes too big for the models. Unfair for the collection and the models
Yes, not their fault...also, there is footage that actually shows shoes losing heels, models nearly falling, etc....some limped along, but there were steps toward the end where they were clearly barely able to walk. It made me suspect sabotage rather than shoddy workmanship...though I think shoddy workmanship can happen when there are staffing shortages, I doubt big fashion houses need worry overmuch about staff.

I totally and wholeheartedly agree. It's very sad that they put the clothes before the models AKA human beings. Kind of ruined the show for me.

some of the ladies looks really miserable or walk like zombies, and that takes away from the beauty of their looks and overall this show. SAD

Estoy en el minuto 7 del desfile y ya me aburre ver la cara de cabreo de las y los modelos. Es actitud cool o algo así?? Una marca como Valentino seguramente inspira a muchas y muchos, pero a mi parecer le resta puntos a la colección. Creo que ver rostros más amables y que inspiren a llevar un gesto amable hacia nuestros semejantes alrededor sería muy bueno de una marca global,sobretodo en tiempos de convulsión y de conflicto, es mi opinión. Moda y sociedad caminan juntas y no es mera frivolidad. La colección es bella 👏👏👍

The collection is unique but the models are all unpleasant and distracting to look at, I can’t differentiate from aliens or zombies. Just get people out in the street and it will be more effective.

That poor girl in the all sparkly black dress and tights 3:07 why don’t they choose experienced models! They would’ve had a rehearsal, someone would’ve looked and checked out all the walks, and they still let her go on the show like that! Give her a change of shoes, barefoot, anything but that walk of pure pain!

A beautiful collection, love the peace and confidence in the designs,, BUT models are too thin, sad and uncomfortable walking in stupidity designed shoes and tight fitting gowns!
to be fair, I think they tried to use non-models who had never walked before. They struggled in those shoes and seemed nervous about tripping or messing up. Unfortunately you can sense the fear and inexperience.

Despite the beautiful clothes, it was chaos on the runway. Some models looked like they were walking on stilts.
Pretty sure the models know how to walk on high heels, although depending on how high and uncomfortable the shoes are they might not be able to do their best. Also, many times the sizing of the shoes is not precise to that model being smaller or bigger than their feet with makes a challenge to properly walk on them
all of these models know how to walk otherwise they wouldn’t have been hired. several of them ended up taking off their shoes/falling due to poor sizing. The sheer number of models struggling to walk reflects badly on the brand, not the individual talent

Clothes are beautiful but like several comments here have to comment on the way some models walk, or don’t as the case may be. I’m sure some think it’s very cool to look so natural but infact it’s very distracting. It’s a pleasure to watch a beautiful model in beautiful clothes, walking beautifully.
The last dress (black) was exquisite and the model knew exactly how to show it; she was absolutely lovely.

I'm going contro corrente. Apart from a few dresses, the rest were awful. Too weird to wear in most situations and especially the men's wear which was pitiful. Any man walking down the street with these outfits would hear a lot of comments...not necessarily pleasant. As for the models, it appeared that they had just had a day off from Aushwitz or Dachau. They were walking skeletons, some of them could hardly walk. I've just watched the Armani Show, and his collection was sublime - absolute perfection. He really is the top.
The models were scary! What happened to beautiful models with an ounce or two of flesh on them to be softer? Creepy...... and it made me discount the clothes!
Que desastre, apenas observando esse vídeo, e ainda vi aqui que eles não mostraram tudo, que os sapatos causou muito desconforto, chegando a ter modelos caindo e retirando o sapato, nossaaa e olha o tanto que os modelos tiveram que andar, pra que uma passarela desse tamanho???? E as roupas, não vi nada tão inovador não, única coisa que achei legal foram os acessórios. Escolha de modelos para as roupas também não ficou legal não.

A lot of these model’s legs are so thin they don’t look like they should be able to stand on them. And I may be wrong, but I don’t feel like they necessarily were looking for attractive faced models. Just more, striking or unique.
Some of the clothes were beautiful. Others seemed, as per usual in fashion shows, unwearable for people that aren’t celebrities and trying to sell a look.
With few exceptions, Paris Spring/ Summer 2023 has been a disappointment so far, and with a day left, I am not sure it’s going to get anymore inspiring. Thanks goodness for Valentino for being one of the few bright spots in a rather dismal fashion season. Pierpaolo continues to present elegance, sophistication, and some really dreamy looks on the runway. That last look-that gorgeous model-wow!-alone saved Paris Spring Summer 2023 fashion week. Thank goodness! When I think of Paris fashion, I think of the stuff of dreams, not mom jeans and expensive sweatpants on the runway. I also love the pops of Pepto-Bismol pink in his audience. Fashionistas are still rocking last season’s Valentino.
I don't know what bright spots are for you, as well as elegance, sophistication and all you said. The heels were really uncomfortable, as well as some clothes, a lot of models fell because of the dresses and the heels, there was a general confusion about the right aisle and the wrong ones, and a model had a broken heel.
If this is what real humans should wear (even tho the only ones who could probably afford those are rich people), I'm sorry, but I don't think this is fashion.
@@一ばん I know, the runway show was pretty much chaos with the problems you mentioned. When I mentioned "elegance and sophistication," I was referring to the collection itself--the clothes, designs, fabrics, colors, etc. Even the shoes, I hate to say, are beautiful works of art--perhaps too beautiful and impractical to wear. Perhaps they are better appreciated on a shelf. I appreciate the comment! Please take care and keep well!

@@harshita243 Versace ss23? That's in Milan! I'm talking about the dismal Paris Spring/ Summer 2023 season. Versace was great and was easily one of the many highlights of Milan Spring/ Summer 2023, which was a very strong season, better than Paris.

This show was an absolute disaster the editing fails to show the breaking heels, girls walking down the wrong aisles, and struggling to find their grasp on the ground, not to mention falling down the stairs on their way out

Painful seeing so many skeletricle models. Not at all a good example for the young generation and not an added value to the dresses and designers. Are you dessing sad, unhealthy looking broomsticks? Real healthy WOMEN have beautiful CURVES. MEN, MUSCLES. Their individual beauties enhance, well designed , tailored clothes. This was a sad sight in every sense.
I feel sorry for other models they don't deserve this kind of embarassment😢😢😢
The model dressed in head to toe black sequin at around 3:09 or so was absolutely horrible to watch, not only did she look like she was on the verge of dropping to the floor, she looked scared and uncomfortable walking. It definitely seems to be a case of too small footwear, inexperienced walking in fashion shows, but whatever the case is, she made me cringe.

Some of the models look a bit hangry--is this a pose they are asked to assume? Is this the new look? It's hard to imagine wanting to wear something that makes you feel hangry...

Don’t you what ruins gorgeous clothes? Models who are stumbling along the runway. Is it the shoes? Is it the models? Maybe both.. but whatever it is that makes what would otherwise be a simple and gorgeous collection be swipe leftable.

The "designer" who works for Valentino demands models run the gauntlet or descend difficult stair constructions in ill fitting shoes. A sorry example of a manipulator of human beings rather than fabric.
What is it this season with unwalkable shoes? The models at Saint Laurent were also having trouble with their footwear. (And at Vivienne Westwood, but that’s basically par for the course).
Было чувство, что некоторые модели впервые видели подиум, то не держали расстояние, то спотыкались, то не могли ноги в кучу собрать. На общих планах видно, как они кучкуются спина в спину. Возможно была неудобной обувь, но кажется она обычная, на других показах были и более сложные платформы. Очень неприятно когда в такой прекрасной коллекции все на что обращаешь внимание это ошибки. Это единственный показ этого сезона, где в организации такая каша. :(

This collection will definitely sell. Shoes aside, the clothing is definitely marketable and accessible.

Didn't really enjoy this collection..It was just hit or miss and all over the place. I felt uninspired by the designs..And uncomfortable models didn't help..
I’m a “commoner.” I don’t understand the world of fashion. Some very pretty pieces of clothing here, but so much of it looked so bland, and even though I know they are not supposed to show much expression (if any), so many of the models’ eyes look lifeless.
