I went to see my GP yesterday for the 1st time in 6 months to inform her on how I was doing and educate her on the dangers of benzos. She told me that I'm the only patient she's had like this, even her patients that are on a high dose are not having this problem They just come in saying it's not working. I told her I guarantee you have more than you think. The patients that are on a high dose have reached tolerance withdrawal and their doses have been continually increased not recognizing that they are in withdrawal. You would think I dropped a brick on her head. She seemed very perplexed and a bit surprised. But she said she would take that in consideration going forward. Hopefully I can spare someone else the agony of being polydrugged.

We're all sick of being called, "Liars, psychos junkies, insane, hypochondriacs, fakers And lots of amazing derogatory shit. And pretty much thinking "If I wasn't experiencing it, I'd think the same thing probably".
Strenght, did the same on my own, stopped when my partner did not wanted me to take drugs. I felt like dying everyday. I am very sensitive to stress still. You are not alone.
Thanks for sharing. Drs have to learn about this class of medication, but they may be unwilling to invest the time, thinking what the drug companies tell them is all they need to know. But new research comes out weekly and because of the dangers posed by benzodiazepine drugs, the research must be kept up with more so than with the average drug.
I am so very sorry that this happened to you. Thank you for sharing. I was on klonopin for 14 yearsn probably came off too quickly last winter. I was put on xanax for 7 months and then began weaning of this summer. Still taking a "small" amount, in the process of weaning off. It's hard. Really hard. I am sorry for your physical, emotional suffering and the misunderstanding and rejection instead of support and encouragement. I hope you have begun to receive love and support in contrast and that you are healing emotionally as well as physically. Peace be with you in Jesys name. ❤ 🕊
I'm happy you don't have daily symptoms anymore. I also ended up on a benzo from unrecognized/unexplained cortisone withdrawal. I went to therapy cause the ENT sent me to therapy but the therapists pushed me on benzos and my GP prescribed without information when I said I didn't want anything habit forming. I was very weird and suggestible because of cortisone. The doctors here claim it revealed underlying mania I must have had. Ridiculous.
I'm almost 48 months benzo free, I still have a lot of pain in my head and neck, dizziness and strange sensations but my stomach has been very bad, the doctors can't find anything for me and they just want to give me antidepressants that I won't take, it's a pain terrible mainly in the solar plexus and other parts of my abdomen that cause me anxiety and fear. I hope this goes away completely, I have struggled a lot and I still do not see my recovery. does anyone identify? do we all really heal? (I know that some take more years than others), any hope ????
@@morningwithgracie7870 inflamation, pain mainly in the solar plexus but it spreads throughout the stomach, pulse (I feel my stomach beating and it is seen from the outside), sensations of fainting, very strong despair (as if I were going to have an epileptic seizure, it does not happen but the feeling is uncontrollable) anxiety and sometimes yellow diarrhea (this has improved a lot)
These videos make coming off of them worse. I get that they are warning people to not take them, but for those of us who are on them, it's definitely a little nerve wracking. I'll finally reach a day where I can stop. But where I am at in life right now. They help bring down the wall that once stopped me for doing things. Therapy and coping skills only did so much for me.
I understand, some people seem like they would just be better off staying on them. Especially if you are older. If younger, I guess, just try not to increase dosage.
Did you feel brain lock? Like you don't understand a simple thing and become overwhelmed of any normal things and can't understand that people can do normal things and live their lives normally? Did you find it hard to to daily tasks and have depersonalization and derealisation? Thank you
hello. I had this during tolerance and during tapering. It does get better. I am benzo free for five years and pretty normal, taking university courses.
@@janesimpson8590Thank you for answering. Did it last long for you that your brain didn't understand anything? I have now tapered from total amount of diazepam 60 mg (klonopin crossover) to 8 mg and I can't function and be at home. I have to go to university drug mental hospital. 😥 I'm afraid how they will taper me, rapidly I guess. I was totally normal that few good weeks in late 2021 after rapid taper of oxazepam and had crossover to diazepam 10 mg for the first time. All my witdwal symptoms went away, brain lock too. I could function and exercise and do anything but taper was too quick and went badly wrong. Since then one ct, kindling to klonopin and now tapered it with valium with Ashton manual. I don't stabilize. I'm in this brain not understanding normal things and normal life at all constantly and in fight or flight. Glad you are well. How long did you taper? Were you homebound and not able to function? I wish I would have had a chance in late 2021 to taper slowly when I was stabilized. Now I fear I have permanent brain lock damage and cns and GABA damage. Thank you if you can answer and give some hope.
What taper method did you find successful? I have taken 0.5 mg Klonopin in the p.m. and I have cut my dose to a quarter of that in the a.m. and I am miserable.
Go to the hospital, describe your symptoms. The doctor narrows it down and prescibes a chemical that they think suits you. Thank you, goodbye, next patient,
I live in Virginia also and had to CT in detox on 1.5 x had to reinstate 1.0 MG 7 months later and now I'm about to taper off. Any advice would be great I'm scared.
Taper super slow and hold long, I tapered off clonazepam successfully (0.5mg 3x a day for 23 years) I was cut off cold once n had a seizure, reinstated 3 months later..stabilized n began a taper..my taper was ok...sending you lots of love!! I was petrified to start the taper n horrified to jump off! But all went well. Now I'm so glad I did..almost 1 year off n I feel like a new woman!!

I am just so disappointed with the doctor who prescribed this benzos to me. I am experiencing insomnia and that is pretty much killing me. The medicine i used to take for it stopped working. I am on the verge of losing my mind.

It's a horrifying experience, and being judged and not believed with no one to help is the cherry on top.
