That's not always the wisest thing to do, especially when you got someone that is as heated as that guy was. A lot of people don't listen to reason or anything and never think it's their fault. At the VERY least I'd have told him, as John did, that it wasn't up to me, and if you have a problem call either the office or the cops, but there is NO way he'd talk to me like that, but as was mentioned in the video and you can see John's frustration clearly, he didn't have time to wait around, but here's the prick in me based on that guy. I'd have at least tried to make time to return and grab it later that day. Respect goes a long way, and it's a two way street.
@@50buttfish Johnny does actually have other tow truck operators he can sometimes call, if multiple are working on the same site or nearby sites. He will call them if he can. It's way better than a "GORILLA", if anyone lays a hand on a tow truck operator, they can and will call someone about that kind of behavior. There's also nothing from keeping him being a full time student AND working! I know plenty of people who worked full time and were full time students.

If you move to georgia you have no longer than 30 days to register your vehicle in this state . If you buy a car in Georgia you have 7 days to register your car His car being register in another state is HIS problem , not yours , and he need only to drive to the nearest tag office to LEGALLY register his car here if he is now a Georgia resident , as he claims . It's NOT rocket science .
I do it. I get so frustrated with these people. If they would just read their rental agreement when they sign it they would know they have to keep their vehicles registered and in working order. Grr..
According to their website, NC DOES do online tag renewal. If you live in Georgia, you are required to transfer your tag and DL to Georgia. He claims the office never answers the phone and he works 9-5 (from home, remember), so he can't get up there to communicate with them...but when the tow truck showed up, both he and his partner were both able to get to the office and talk to them within minutes. Amazing!
You can renew your plates online in North Carolina. But if Georgia is like most other states, he is supposed to get his title, registration, and insurance in Georgia within 30 days of moving.
@@teezee1000 well of course the car is probably still registered to an NC address...where he no longer lives, or he could just get the decal out of his mail. Since he now lives in Georgia, he needs to register the car in Georgia. It will need to have insurance and an emissions test. If he has no registration, he might not have insurance either. That's what stops a lot of people. They don't want to pay what it costs to own a car.
That first guy had a HUGE sense of entitlement. I live in NC and I've been in other states before with my car still garaged in this state, and it's easy to renew the registration from out of state. This guy let his registration lapse because he thought it wouldn't matter--I saw this plenty of times when I lived in other states, and I see it plenty of times today. Good on you Johnny for taking care of business.
I love how the 911 dispatcher explained it clearly to that first couple why their car was being towed and that there was nothing that the police could do. It seems like the real problem on that property is that management makes themselves hard to reach.
@@mamaloyomo Yeah, and that guy who said he works "from 9 to 5" could have found the time (just a few minutes) to call the manager when he was at his job.
That first guy was a jerk. He said he had to go to NC to reregister it. Well it’s supposed to be registered where you live within 30 days of moving and he should also be able to get new tags on line if her is going to register it back in NC. Stay safe Johnny and God Bless
I've been working out-of-state away from my house & family for many years. Never had a problem with my plate at the apartment complex where I stay. I get my registration renewed online and receive the new stickers thru the mail. That dude was nuts.
I have purchased a new car in one state and brought it back to a different one where I was living and never had a problem with the registration. I've also moved from one state to another with an existing car, and again, like you said, all of it was done online and it was very easy. The guy was straight up lying.
It depends on the state for example Illinois will not mail registration stickers out of state so even when I was visiting another state when my tags expired I was able to renew online and then have somebody at that Illinois address forward the sticker to me so I can put it on the car
@@anurse1406 If he truly has a permanent residence in another state he can simply go to the nearest U.S. post office and put the address in Georgia as a temporary forwarding address with an expiration date. Problem solved. No excuse at all for an expired sticker.

I lived in Hall County, GA for 5 years and had Ohio tags on my car. Only problems i ever had with my complex was parking was a pain in the ass and people parked where they shouldnt (myself included) and got stickered once or twice but i just moved my car to a legal space. Should i have registered it in GA? Well yeah but i was too cheap to pay ad valorem on a car i had already paid taxes on.
Perhaps you should be able to charge the property management a fee when they have you drop vehicles. If the owners are responsible for paying a drop fee then the ones who mistakenly have you tow should be just as responsible. You be safe out there Johnny we all love what you do and appreciate the respect you show to to some undeserving people. 👍👍🇨🇦
Read your Lease agreement. It is in there, about all vehicle must be road worthy and insured, if not will be towed at the owners expense. Read your Lease, Good work John
I thought drag it onto the truck and drive off while they are at the office......this complex is playing games and wasting the tow companies time.......Johnny's company needs to roll in with the wheel lifters in a group and hook and book and call the bluff of that complex
I am not surprised. It looks like a nice neighborhood and it's young so-called entitled people who are just so offended that they can't skirt the law. I admired your patience and the way that you don't let personal pride get in the way of a conflict. I'm not sure I could do it. Stay safe
Towtrucker keeping it real. Thanks Johnny. You live in Georgia, but you are going to North Carolina to update the registration? Aren't you supposed to register in Georgia when you live there?
Absolutely. Once you've established residence here, you're supposed to transfer your registration and driver's license. A lot of people trying to get away with something will try to keep their old registration if they lived in a place that doesn't require emissions and/or insurance.
Agree, but here in NC, there is little or no enforcement on registration. We know someone who has been registered their cars in FL for years just to avoid the higher fees and tax here.
Lord have mercy! What a cluster. That manager needs to let her tenants know the drill. Comply or move out. Period. You’re a good man Mr Johnny. By the time I got to your first Mr Entitled, I would have lost it.
i honestly do NOT understand why people keep arguing with you when you specifically inform them to call the office. You are so patient with these sometimes ridiculous people
Because, as you saw in the video, it works! He got his car dropped without paying a fee. That is the problem of letting them get their way, they think they got dropped because they were right.
Yes, as another commenter posts, "it works!" Also, I have SOME sympathy in that many properties are understaffed and rarely answer their phones. Last time I rented an apartment and I had to speak to staff, the office was locked over 50% of the time, a sign posted they will return 20 minutes ago. Call the office? It goes to voice mail; management should have it call forwarded to their cell phone if they must be away from the office.
@@Nibinin Excellent point. This is on the property manager. The guy had plenty of warnings and plenty of time. He screams and makes a scene and the manager backs down - or so I assume, but at least he didn't have to pay the drop fee which he should have had to. I suspect they are in a tough spot too. I'm SURE being a property manager in a place like that with the characters who "rent" there is a very stressful job, but I also think they are hearing from THEIR supervisors to keep the peace and keep the turnover low. Not a fun position to be in, but if you are a pushover and let a guy like that admonish you for some the HE did wrong, you're in the wrong line of work.
Sorry you had such a frustrating day! When the office tells you to drop it, they are just encouraging people to do it again. People learn most when it affects their wallet. I hope you do something to relieve stress each day. It’s a hard job but you do it well. Take it easy!
I've often said that and I agree with you. WHY have the company come out and tow it if all you're going to do is back down from a yelling or upset tenant whose fault it was in the first place? I realize John's company works on contracts with places, but once a person gets a couple of warning and a vehicle has been issued a sticker and they are given a week or two to get it right, that should be it. News flash to the guy with the outdated registration; regardless of whether you have to go across the country or next door to renew your plates, guess what? It's YOUR responsibility and your problem, no one else's. You work nine to five? Congratulations, so does the rest of the world. It's all part of being a responsible, car owning adult. I know, it sucks having to abide by the rules, and if this company just lets him get away with causing a fuss, I'd tell him to find a new place. This is why entitled people keep doing it; managers back down way too easily.
@@dyates6380 That's when the boss needs to make sure that the contract does not allow the property management to override a tow or drop unless the property manager and the tow company owner both discuss and agree for certain unusual situations. And when someone says they aren't going to pay...load it up and roll on. They had the option as required by law, and they declined.
@@augustharlacher5660 Yes, because he called his boss and explained the management had already had him drop a different one, and it would be likely that he misses another 2 tows if he waits on that one to resolve. Johnny was in a bad spot where he already knew the property would not back him up, and by sitting there, he would lose other jobs. What I am saying is that the boss should have a better contract with all of the properties to prevent the managers from giving in and making them drop the vehicles without the drop fee. It keeps the tow company from wasting time and money, and give the property and out; they can explain that their contract says they cannot make them drop the vehicle without a fee. In sufficiently unusual circumstances, the manager can call the boss direct, explain the situation and they can agree together to do a free drop, but it should be a rare, odd situation.
See now this is why i respect you and what you do Johnny, your very educated in making the right decisions to ensure your business is successful in the long run and your safety is taken in consideration. God bless brother!
At the same time that the property management is evaluating the quality of the tow company services, the tow company should be evaluating how well the property mangement supports the tow company.
To be honest, it's not the property manager's job to enforce the law... It's up to law enforcement and the owner of the car. And I know, the "requirement" of having a valid license plate is in the lease agreement. Even though that requirement has no place in the lease.
@@edgarmatzinger9742 You don't understand code enforcement then. Plain and simple. If properties don't include this in their leases, they face serious financial penalties from local state and county government. It's very straightforward.
@@paratext _"It's very straightforward."_ Except, it isn't. Are property manager's being paid as law/code enforcement? Or hired as law/code enforcement? I bet they're not. Love the work you do Johnny, especially the handicap parking violators. Thank you for getting them. I hate it when they take up spaces that they don't need and leave those like myself and my mother who is disabled, to have to park farther away from the stores.
absolutly true! have been wheelchaired for over a year and have to hunt for parking spots which is more complicated by not being allowed to drive by my medical conditions and being dependant on my children to take me anywhere. yes i do have my valid handicap placard.
I take my grandma to the store often and I have a handicap sticker to be able to park up close for her but I usually drop her off at the door with either my mom or my brother and take a normal spot because even though I can legally park in a handicap space it still feels wrong. I don't know how people can be selfish enough to not walk a few extra feet
@@ricktimmons5438 I sure understand complicated! When I drove my Dad. He had a van with a w/c lift (ramp) on the side door, and a large electric wheelchair. It was difficult enough maneuvering that beast, but finding a spot that allowed a w/c ramp to drop was hard. Even then, either a motorcycle owner thought that spot was a free zone created for them, or someone else parked over the lines for a host of reasons, it was very hard to get him out of the van and I would need to back it up, pull up, etc. Many people don't realize that you also need that entire space, the one with the blue lines next to the handicapped parking spot, for the w/c ramp, AND space for the w/c to roll off and turn towards the parking lot. I ended up using a curb towards the end of a store some days, parking the van, and running back to meet him. Same thing to load him back on. Dad really enjoyed his days out. I miss him so very much. ❤ All the best to you sir.
Stay safe. Stay strong. Johnny, thank you for sharing this with us all. Really appreciate your drone videos of Atlanta. Last I was in my hometown was the late ‘90s. Was thinking of returning until a few vlogs back you stated how unsafe it all is. I didn’t listen to Mike and regret it. I’m listening to you. Continue to be blessed. 🌎❤️😊
Hey Johnny. I think most people are completely oblivious to their tag being expired being related to the tow. They are used to driving with expired plates and they simply see no relevance of that to getting towed. Maybe if you said that management gets cited for having non-drivable cars on the lot (which covers wrecked, flat tires, and expired tags) it would enlighten them.
How are they so oblivious in the USA like this? Where I am from, if the car is not registered, there is no valid insurance, even if you have paid insurance. So are these folks driving around with no insurance too?
But a non-registered car isn't non-drivable. As long as they have insurance on it, the tags aren't a moving violation. the cities really don't give a crap about it, either, because they get the money out of you either by you registering it, or, by paying the ticket for not registering it! The only reason they use that in the criteria is that most cars that are abandoned, or pieces of crap, etc. are also not registered, and they have to apply the rules fairly, so, these people get caught up in it, when no one really cares if their plate is up to date if they are driving it daily and it's not a junker sitting in the lot.
@Clearview Technical exactly!! I was hoping Johnny would quit stuttering and just tell the guy what the deal was instead of saying management might not know he lives there 🤦♀️
Much respect John. It has to be a rough way to make a living, not even mentioning the physicality that is involved. I am an old guy now, retired, but I have had two different "careers" and my first one was a restaurant manager in a very busy restaurant. I got so tired of people complaining about stuff just to get a discount or something free (I want to make it very clear - IF they had a legitimate complaint, we bent over backwards to make it right - which happens and in the restaurant unless someone ate the entire meal and said they didn't like it, which happened, we would do the right thing but we had a problem with take out orders because there was no way for us to actually LOOK and see what was unsatisfactory and the customers trying to scam us obviously knew that) but it became very clear that with take out orders, people would call and complain about something but suddenly they "couldn't" bring back the meal in question because they "threw it away" or something was missing or whatever. We were never accusatory to the customer when they called, we just calmly told them to please bring it back and we will replace it. The problem arose when they ate the food already and tried to call and say it wasn't satisfactory and wanted a free one next time. It got old after a while. The problem was I had VERY capable people with years of experience making and packing up the food who would NEVER put anything but perfect products in the take out containers (we specialized in rotisserie chicken and barbecue ribs - very popular and very good ) - so I know most of it was BS. Just trying to get a free meal. I am going into all this just to say I finally got fed up with it. I got SO tired of people lying and daily trying to get something for free I just became cynical, even to legitimate problems, and I knew it was time to move on. That was almost thirty years ago, and I relocated to a different state and got a job in a totally different field (not dealing with the public) and all was well. You do a wonderful job and I give you a lot of credit because I wouldn't be cross or unnecessarily mean, but I personally wouldn't tell them to call the office more than one time. Ninety seven percent of the people you deal with KNOW they are in the wrong, and you and everyone watching these videos knows THEY know they are wrong and lying, and the fact that most get housing assistance on top of it? I'd last about a week. Forgive this long and rambling post but the moral of my story is the public is VERY hard to deal with, and it's much worse these days than when I worked with them. You're a good man John.
Your story reminds me a little of my father's experiences running a wholesale butcher shop doing custom cutting of sides of beef, pork etc., dealing with the public daily. After 30 years of it, he one day had a customer accusing him of stealing part of a meat order. After lengthy explanation and argument and attempts to mollify the customer, the individual called my father a name I will not repeat. I will mention that angering a butcher is not wise. My father said that when he regained his composure, he found himself holding the customer off the floor by the front of his shirt, with a steak knife poised at his throat. He dropped the guy, who promptly left the store. My father said that he decided that day that it was time to retire and he promptly did that. Fortunately, the customer did not file assault charges. From where I stand, your burn-out story is fully understandable.
#1: you can renew via online. You don't HAVE to go to NC in person. If you live in GA, you have 30 days to change registration. I'd have just kept loading it while he was on the phone...
Keep on keeping on Johnny! Thank you for taking your time to edit and make these videos for us. It's very informational and has lots of learning values attached including. Thank you again and PLEASE stay safe out there. Much love!

Johnny, you have far more patience that I do. The moment he said he wasn't paying, I would've started winching that car up. He stated he lives & works here...he needs to get a GA tag. Driving around with an expired tag from Carolina isn't going to fly.
Clearly the first guy hadn't heard of the internet and that most states have a website for their motor vehicle department, and most will let you renew that way. Or here's a novel idea for that guy, maybe register your vehicle where you are CURRENTLY living. Smh. They all know what the sticker means. They like to play like they don't know but one can see right through that.... You have way more patience than I would have with people like that.....
Every one of the tows on that property are ridiculous! The property mgmt clearly isn't communicating to their residents the rules that have to be followed because of code enforcement. Frankly, Johnny that property is a waste of time. If the mgmt is so weak they just have you drop the vehicle because they don't want the confrontation...then is it ridiculous for them to even call in the tows. Bravo to you for keeping your cool Johnny! Be well, stay safe and most importantly God Bless you! 😊🙏🏻❤️🌻
The guy with the red honda should have paid the drop fee. The drop fee does pay the truck insurance, you make $30 and the company makes $70, it adds up in the end.
They always say “I live Here”. They also signed a lease saying all vehicles must comply with state law, which means current valid tag. Look at your lease! Good job Johnny.
So his registration from another state is expired but his "home" is in the current state? I guess he missed the memo in every state across the country that you have to have vehicle registered in the state you live in. Most give 4-6 months maximum to change it Also NC has online registration so no you don't have to travel there
30 days to change it over in GA that is why the police dispatch on the phone told him to get F'..ed.....if they were not so understaffed he is lucky they did not send an officer to ticket him and have it towed
IIRC GA gives you 30 days to switch your tag to GA once you establish your home there. Not sure how long he was there but if he rented a apartment then it is on him 100 percent
These videos are always amusing. But I think the funniest line you've ever said in these was in this video, when you said, "these people at this property don't know what 'stickered' means." And the look on your face when you said that. Hilarious. I bet it was a heck of a day for you with all the people who ran out on you that day. Keep up the good work, and stay frosty out there.
Sometimes, Johnny when you are so civil and mellow, I’m yelling at the screen at the owners of the vehicle. God bless you That first guy got me riled up.
Wow that first guy full of his own self importance. No matter what you said Johnny he didn't care. He works 9 to 5 good for him but he looks like he has a garage when not keep the car in there then his expired sticker wouldn't be seen. I must admit I did laugh when the police said there was nothing they could do. If they just read the sticker go to the office and have a chat and work it out. I am so glad we can pay the car registration at our post office, department of transport or online in Australia. Makes life so much easier. Happy weekend towtrucker family and Johnny keep on towing and videos coming. It makes my day when I see you putting up a new one ❤🥰💐
in the USA it is paid at the state level (in a lot of places the county level) and this fool lives in Georgia and is saying that he needs to go to North Carolina to get it registered....he has 30 days to register is after moving to Georgia (as the police dispatch told him) and it does not matter if he does not drive is because the law is that apartment complexes are not allowed to let people keep unregistered cars on the property so that it does not end up looking like a junk yard (as the person on the phone told him)

Given the amount of annoyance you have trying to explain the property rules and laws, your patience level is commendable. As usual. But seriously though, when there are THAT MANY people on one property that don't get it, that don't know the rules, seems like maybe your company should require that properties you start servicing send out refresher notices to it's residents so that they are reminded why the property must tow. The property needs to be the one educating their residents.

Who cares it’s on the tow company. Some lunatic running around towing cars for nothing…
Does anyone else find themselves yelling at their tablets or phones while watching the crap Johnny puts up with? Good job Johnny!

@@DEAFBOY80 ask the guy in the video
According to their website, NC DOES do online tag renewal.
If you live in Georgia, you are required to transfer your tag and DL to Georgia.
He claims the office never answers the phone and he works 9-5 (from home, remember), so he can't get up there to communicate with them...but when the tow truck showed up, both he and his partner were both able to get to the office and talk to them within minutes. Amazing!
You can renew your plates online in North Carolina. But if Georgia is like most other states, he is supposed to get his title, registration, and insurance in Georgia within 30 days of moving.
which is one of the reasons the cops didn't care about his situation.
he can register it online but he cant have the new stickers mailed to a Georgia address.
Youc an do it online, but the car has to go through inspection first
@@DeindexedSoWhat My truck is 33 years old - no more NC inspections!
Can't believe this guy called 9-1-1 for a tow issue. Police should have charged him $$$ for that.
Best 911 dispatcher ever
I love how the 911 dispatcher explained it clearly to that first couple why their car was being towed and that there was nothing that the police could do. It seems like the real problem on that property is that management makes themselves hard to reach.
Nah, the couple are responsible. All they would need to reach out to management for is to beg to be left off the hook. Accountability is a bitch. 🤷♂
@@mamaloyomo Yeah, and that guy who said he works "from 9 to 5" could have found the time (just a few minutes) to call the manager when he was at his job.

It was stickered - they knew someone was coming.
The real problem is entitled people
That first guy was a jerk. He said he had to go to NC to reregister it. Well it’s supposed to be registered where you live within 30 days of moving and he should also be able to get new tags on line if her is going to register it back in NC. Stay safe Johnny and God Bless
That guy lives there, he pays his rent "on time every time." Yet he has to go out of state to renew registration on his car??
"They running out of the woodwork"...like roaches

It's that way in my state, I can't imagine any state that would let them get away with it.
Yep he's was full of shitt like a Christmas Turkey
Yup
Agree, but here in NC, there is little or no enforcement on registration. We know someone who has been registered their cars in FL for years just to avoid the higher fees and tax here.
You are a honest tow truck businessman!
The office should put a boot on the car. Then they can't say that there was no sticker on it.
You are so patient with these sometimes ridiculous people
Because he's hooked to their car, so they wanna argue with him first!
People who live in this area are low mentality renters.
1st dude is a straight up 🔧. You're a Saint dealing with people like him. I would have finished the tow and bounced.
Watch the video again! It was Johnny's Boss that told him to drop it!
Many times the wallet is the reason why the vehicle is not how it needs to be. People are not always poor because they want to be.

At the same time that the property management is evaluating the quality of the tow company services, the tow company should be evaluating how well the property mangement supports the tow company.
People are ridiculous. You are great and put up with far more than most people would.
If your registration is expired, you are going to get towed!
Same,
I take my grandma to the store often and I have a handicap sticker to be able to park up close for her but I usually drop her off at the door with either my mom or my brother and take a normal spot because even though I can legally park in a handicap space it still feels wrong.
It's willful ignorance.....
@Clearview Technical exactly!! I was hoping Johnny would quit stuttering and just tell the guy what the deal was instead of saying management might not know he lives there 🤦♀️
@@melissamcclain34 America is so weird. How can something be insured when it is not registered? Makes no sense.
No respect for a lunatic…
It's always someones else's fault, or, " I was just about to take care of it!"
You all are in the right, I wouldn’t drop it just on principle alone. People need to take care of their business and get their registration.

So his registration from another state is expired but his "home" is in the current state?
I guess he missed the memo in every state across the country that you have to have vehicle registered in the state you live in.
Most give 4-6 months maximum to change it
Also NC has online registration so no you don't have to travel there
30 days to change it over in GA that is why the police dispatch on the phone told him to get F'..ed.....if they were not so understaffed he is lucky they did not send an officer to ticket him and have it towed

Wow that first guy full of his own self importance. No matter what you said Johnny he didn't care. He works 9 to 5 good for him but he looks like he has a garage when not keep the car in there then his expired sticker wouldn't be seen.

I think we all feel that way, but he talked with the boss....as he says it is a "service" to the complex, but it seems like that complex is letting their residents run over them and they will be getting some codes fines soon or will start looking like a junk yard and then they will be begging Johnny to show up......his company can make that round of tows and then decide if that complex is worth it or not after that.....no sense losing the contract before the complex gets in a bind and has to have 10 or 12 cars towed out and letting that money go to the competition

As soon as he said he wasn't paying the drop fee, he made his decision. Load it up and leave.
@@greghomestead8366 I think we would all love that especially Johnny, but there are other things to consider in relation to the complex that they contract with so sometimes Johnny calls the boss and the boss makes the call
You are a diamond in the rough, Johnny, and I still love your work.
Sounded like a stressful day Johny!!! Keep up the awesome content stay safe out there and I’ll see you in the next one!!!!
Everybody at that apartment is at home today. Johnny, great job as usual. Stay safe.
That first turd really needed to cough up the 100$.
Geez! That was a very frustrating day! ❤
I totally agree. In most states you have 30 days to transfer your registration and get a new driver's license in that state.
Thank you Johnny great content. Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you. Stay safe brother
Love watching the tow guy tell young people how to live like adults.
Sounds like the property management needs to get their stuff together, from a business standpoint, having a manager double back on multiple tows is a waste of money and time for you and the boss man, Liked the vid always, Business Never Personal, Good moral compass
you could hear the entitlement in the residents voices....the other idiot arguing that it was not the one car it was the other car that was stickered.......fool has two pieces of junk there and sitting at home on his balcony probably drinking and wasting the day away watching over his junk cars
@@rodrod383 it upsets me that the property manager sets in motion the tow process and then orders a drop, just hypocrisy on management and a waste of Johnny's time and his bossmans expenses
@@ItsaRomethingeveryday yea because so many of them are just scammers and liars.....but Johnny has said before it is a "service" to the complex and his company has many LONG term contracts and most of these complexes are owned by companies with many complexes so when Johnny talks to the boss and the boss says drop it they are out short term money, but in it for the long term.....this complex looks like they are getting walked on right now, but they will be in a bind soon enough so might as well wait and get those tows and then decide if they want to tell that complex they need to find a new company, but thanks for those last 10 or 15 tows when you were in a bind......no need to lose that over one tow right now
