  • I donated this bell in memory of my maternal grandparents, Fred and Freda Tandy, who lived in the environs of Cheltenham all their lives. Like most of the generation that fought in the war they would probably be be horrified at this show of ostentation! But I hope both my family and ringers in general will enjoy it for generations to come

A nice tribute you wrote The truth about this wicked hedonistic work we now live in.
Surely who needs God who needs daith when you can consume.
GB once great Britain now Godless Britain I feel.
Its a sad state of affairs hat the oldest manufacturing business The Whitechapel bell foundry has closed leaving only Taylots where this bell was cast.
My dad was a bell hanger for whitechapel until 1972
Is this closure a mark of the spiritual downfall of Britain????

Taylor's in Loughborough. I was lucky enough to get pictures of the last 3 bells before they were moved into the church. Quite a rare sight to see new bells being delivered!
