Ingenious, just ingenious. Hopefully, in the near future they can export this technology to help people in other countries. Way to go! Israeli ingenuity!
LA has dry fire hydrants and controlled burns are illegal. Won't update 100 year old utility equipment because all the money is going to solar farms. But they'll use this new technology?
I wonder if BDS wil call for a boycott of this technology. So far they’re targeting avocados and tomatoes, but life savings inventions, computer chips etc seems ok
@@Peace216 They will. And it will reveal just how small their numbers really are. Right now, they get disproportionate attention by being loud. Wait until it’s them versus people wanting to protect their homes from being destroyed in a fire.
Would you consider testing it here in Los Angeles? We’re more likely to face the wildfire conditions you’re protecting against, and on a regular basis, so you’d be able to get a proof of concept or learn about any gaps in functionality more quickly. Also, there’s significant public attention now on our vulnerability here, which could make it easier for you to get funding for the implementation. Just please don’t oversell, make sure you describe it as a pilot program and don’t make guarantees. While the funding may be more at a level to reimburse your costs than at the true value of your system if it works, if it does work then it would immediately bring in many customers for you. One final note, I think this would help Israel on a PR level even before it’s tested. Because the pro-H*mas cheerleaders would want to boycott it, and everyone else would lump them in with arsonists, and it would become very clear how few (but loud) they are. Right now, when everyone in LA is focused on this risk and no one has proposed solutions they’ve gotten behind, is the best window for this competition. On the other hand, it’s also a good reason not to oversell, and to emphasize it’s one tool in LA’s arsenal which is still under development, and charge only the implementation cost. Because if people tout it as perfect protection and aren’t corrected, and there’s a fire with huge damage, that would help the nutcases demonize Israel.
Follow up: I found the Times of Israel article, “An ‘Iron Dome’ to stop wildfires: Israeli startup’s ‘FireDome’ is based on missile defense.” I’m glad to see you’re already planning to test in LA in 2026. I hope you can be involved in the immediate discussions and strategizing which have likely already started but will intensify once the immediate fires are put out.
You know what would also help us here in California? If our leadership and the departments they oversee would actually perform the preventative measures they are supposed to perform to mitigate the impact of wildfires. We're just learning that the Santa Ynez reservoir (main reservoir) in the Palisades are was completely dry and closed for maintenance a the time of the fire.
There are other reservoirs serving the area, so there was still plenty of water available. There WERE issues with water pressure in hydrants, but the cause was NOT the empty reservoir. Furthermore, January isn’t a time when we usually expect wildfires. When would be a better time to perform maintenance on a reservoir?
@ This reservoir has been offline for close to two years. Where is the back-up supply when it goes into maintenance? Why weren't water pressures tested regulalry? If there was a concern with water availability why wasn't it acted on? I oversee a global portfolio of datacenters. When we take a system offline for PM, we need to test and make sure that it's backup is working. We do monthly generator runs. We get audited and get spanked if something's off. At least if we lose a site, people are without TikTok for a few hours. In this case, people have lost their lives, their homes and businesses. California is a Democrat super-majority state and has been for years. Who's to blame?
@@LPM147 The reservoir being offline wasn’t the cause of the water pressure issues. There was a huge backup, a much larger reservoir which was full, and that water was available and used. The problem is that fire hydrants are in inadequate tool for fighting a blaze this large. They were designed to fight it if, let’s say, a home or business ignites and the fire spreads locally. Using so much water at once in one area lowers the pressure there, regardless of how much water is still available at the source. Wildfires, on the other hand, are fought from the sky, and it’s accepted that you can’t do anything when the winds are too high. The situation is unacceptable when we have homes close to wildfires, but incremental changes like adding a little more available water or 20% more firefighters won’t fix it. That’s why we have to think outside the box and find new ways to fight a fire. Or reach out to others who already have ideas.
And now we do need to understand of what and how people of Northern Israel have to feel and go through when Israel been fighting horrible fires 🔥 in Northern Israel been done by hamas hazbullah. and from Curia rockets 🚀 !
so the system detects embers in its vicinity then launch a capsule to extinguish it right? in a strong wind situation, what if the wind keeps blowing the capsule away from the target every time it launched?

Sounds interesting and expensive... Perhaps, stop demonizing agricultural hemp, and begin harvesting and processing hemp to make hempcrete as a building material. Hempcrete makes the building virtually fire proof/ resistant. Just an idea...
I agree. Hemp is a great material. It’s completely different from weed, no psychedelic compounds whatsoever, and very versatile. We used to grow in in our country to make ropes and sackcloth. Never heard of hempcrete before, I’ll look it up.
None of this would be necessary if Democrats didn’t completely mismanage California and prevent forest management and diverting the water out of the sea
Wouldn’t work. Americans have watched these winds disperse 6 metric tons of material before a signal particle could land. It is unreal. You’ll see the video.

Curious question: what happens if you're power is shut off? What energy do you use to power this technology?
Backup generators would do the trick.
That’s a good question. I think you’d want to ensure your power source is completely enclosed in the dome, so it’s protected.
Have you heard about generators ?
