Thanks for watching! *#LoudNProudFam**!* 🙌👊🏽🤣 (Also, today I lowered idle to 850+\- rpm in park and 750+\-rpm in drive) Can finally use my A/C again!!!
I had to adjust mine too. Some people are saying that's to high. But in the original service book it says for a auto tranny the idle in drive with the AC on should be 750-800.
Thanks! My truck was perfect after having everything gone through when I bought it (96 2500 12v)....literally everything except the engine was rebuilt . It was great at first, but somehow 45,000 miles later she started to stall towing heavy loads coming to a stop. Idle was low, now up to par...not sure why the idle changed over the mileage, but it did.
FYI, 750 rpm is the standard idle speed in 99% of the european diesel cars. The drop in drive probably comes because of the torque converter, so it's normal.
Any idea how much the idle goes up per one full rotation or the nut? Also now that its been a while what did you think of the truck idling at about 980?
Sometimes raising idle is bad for a older trans cause it causes it to try locking up more at stop lights and burns the clutches.. And adjusting the idle to low will cause lower circulation in the valve body when stopped and will cause problems as well.. A couple hundred rpm change doesn't seem like a lot but it has potential to cause a mess of problems down the road! In park everything is fine but when you're stopped and in drive is when it's not great on the ol girl.. That's why the trucks equipped with high idl will kick back down before you put it in gear or anything..
Actually really hard on an auto trans to have it Idle at the high when your 1 shifting from park to drive or reverse 2 dead stop it will always be wanting to go forward you should high idle at 1100 idle at 600-750 look it up for your transmission
I know this is a stupid question but do you think your cummins is quieter or louder than the 7.3 while driving.I ask this because my grandpa has a 99 7.3 dually and it is louder than any 12 or 24 valve that I have rode in.
Well thanks for the info I was hoping that my grandpas 7.3 wasn't just abnormally loud because I've drove it once and it was loud enough to make the neighbor's call us to keep it down because it was at 1 AM
Get it as low as you can (just enough that everything still works)it will help with your trans not hitting so hard when you put it in gear. I have a 12v as my tow rig and that is the way that works best for me.anyway great videos sure like seeing you and your dad working together
Tyler Breon ant see in video but they are light red without daytime switch, then they turn bright blue when you turn on all dash lights and daytime running lights
You can't do high idle switches on these trucks since they are a mechanical linkage. The only high idle switch you can put in these mechanical trucks is a tobacco stick on the pedal to hold the rpm's up. Cheap and effective.
Awesome, that'll really open her up. Yall should love the improved response. Go ahead and turn your star wheel in 3 turns while your at it, then adjust your idle back down. Can't wait to see the video!
Did someone kidnap 6.0 Flow?....your fault Loud and Proud you introduced us all to him and said he would be good ....Bammmm that's for missing one day lol now your off the hook
I found alot of your videos needing to be skipped thru to get to the point, and like others, this was disappointing, so much so i'll be doing some diy types as well. You got lazy and didnt even correct the issue properly to what your beginning intentions were.
Thanks for watching! *#LoudNProudFam**!* 🙌👊🏽🤣

LOUD 'N' PROUD you explain everything just the way possible 😉
LOUD 'N' PROUD do you mean raised?
Corbin Bolick no.. lowered it... so instead of sitting at 1K in park it sits at 850
LOUD 'N' PROUD but it was at 500 😂 so that would be raised 😂
LOUD 'N' PROUD what was your first truck?
I had to adjust mine too. Some people are saying that's to high. But in the original service book it says for a auto tranny the idle in drive with the AC on should be 750-800.
What kind of fuel mileage do you get with the #0 fuel plate?
Idle speed on 12v Cummins: 750-800 with truck in drive and A/C blasting. Per the Factory Manual.
Why not use the throttle linkage to adjust the idle? There is adjustment on the throttle rod linkage, or shouldnt one do that?

If you pull your visor down you'll see where it says your supposed to lightly press the throttle when starting. You'll find that it start right up
Any idea how much the idle goes up per one full rotation or the nut? Also now that its been a while what did you think of the truck idling at about 980?
Are you gonna undercoat your truck for the winter
Where can I find that bumper at? The paintable one preferably
My idle screw is bottomed out and is still idling at 1k. What could be going wrong???
why u moving? college?
Currently installing a 188/220 cam in my 98 12 valve, I want to optimize the sound it can make, how low can I turn my idol speed down to
Hey loud n proud is your truck a 4wd?
Do you dip
Awesome video, all your videos are very informative... Your a very intellectual guy you do good public speaking keep the videos coming👍
ThuggBoi69 appreciate it!
Since you raised the idle try your air now and see how it runs that may be better too sounds great
Lenny Eline it works with no LOPE!

D G -But DG our 2nd gen Rams are known for having incredibly tough and reliable automatic transmissions lmao😂😂
Man i really love your videos you really help me out a lot working on my first truck i have a 1995 2500
Good job👍
Cummins Farmer thanks!
How are those projector lights compared to the old headlights? I'm looking at getting the same pair you have for my '00 Ram
I had a pair on my 2000 single cab dually they work great but the downside is there's a cut off line from light to dark instead of a even transition
Actually really hard on an auto trans to have it Idle at the high when your 1 shifting from park to drive or reverse 2 dead stop it will always be wanting to go forward you should high idle at 1100 idle at 600-750 look it up for your transmission
jackson Welch I totally agree. I also think that it might put a little more wear on the engine during cold start.
jackson Welch if you've seen any of the other many comments on here, I've lowered it since I made the video
The link to headlights does not work, so you have a new one
What kind of headlights are those?
I know this is a stupid question but do you think your cummins is quieter or louder than the 7.3 while driving.I ask this because my grandpa has a 99 7.3 dually and it is louder than any 12 or 24 valve that I have rode in.
TJ #19 mine is louder then dads 7.3... mostly bc it's straight piped with an axle dump... if they were both stick they would both be about same
Well thanks for the info I was hoping that my grandpas 7.3 wasn't just abnormally loud because I've drove it once and it was loud enough to make the neighbor's call us to keep it down because it was at 1 AM
Awesome work
Been watching since 6k #loudnproudfam
will brainard 🙌🙌🙌
will brainard I've been here since 600 🤙
Brayden Aurich that’s dedication right there
will brainard yes sir 😂 been here since the day he bought the first gen 🤙
Where do you see a Z in diesel?
SNIPA353 that’s actually how it’s pronounced, buddy...
Get it as low as you can (just enough that everything still works)it will help with your trans not hitting so hard when you put it in gear. I have a 12v as my tow rig and that is the way that works best for me.anyway great videos sure like seeing you and your dad working together
Brent Munro yeah where it was before I couldn't run A/C without it bogging down.. but now I can use it all without any issues
Is that an 8' bed?
Do your gauges only illuminate if you turn the lights on?
Tyler Breon nope. I have the same ones. They are always glowing just like an aftermarket stereo deck
Brayden Aurich well it seemed like his didn't turn out until he pulled his headlights switch but the needles were lit up
Brayden Aurich yeah.. just brighter with daytimes turned on
Brayden Aurich go to the video at 1:25 and watch till 1:31 see if we're seeing the same thing
Tyler Breon ant see in video but they are light red without daytime switch, then they turn bright blue when you turn on all dash lights and daytime running lights
Where are you moving to in Ohio? I live about two hours south of Cleveland. In New Philadelphia Ohio, which is on the eastern side of Ohio.
Cody Herman 792 Richland county
LOUD 'N' PROUD that’s only like 2-3 county’s away from me. I live in tuscarawas county. How soon are you moving?
What's ur truck run at high idle
Chad Miller 850 in park... they don't have computers to increase or lower the idle so it doesn't have a "high idle" setting sadly...
LOUD 'N' PROUD Manual you'll have to make your own it should sit at 1100
Love these vids makes me want a diesel !
Love the vids
Joey Amos thanks!
Hey Loud and Proud you should put a high idle switch for it when idling in the winter
FireBoyGaming 24 how do you do that?
You can't do high idle switches on these trucks since they are a mechanical linkage. The only high idle switch you can put in these mechanical trucks is a tobacco stick on the pedal to hold the rpm's up. Cheap and effective.
Trace Fuqua yes u can cause we did it to a 12 valve on 1998 dodge diesel and it works perfectly
Trace Fuqua well I'll figure it out I guess haha
U have to get an high idle switch kit for your 12 valve just go to Google and look up (1996 12 valve dodge diesel high idle switch kit).
When you move will we still get to see your dads trucks?
ClumbsyCow99 yes, but not as often. I'm gonna buy another build though.
where u movin' too like what state??
Tonya Hanagriff he said Ohio
Hope she's running better now bud. Did I see in another comment that you're about to install a fuel pin in the 1st gen?
Trace Fuqua yup! And yes!
Awesome, that'll really open her up. Yall should love the improved response. Go ahead and turn your star wheel in 3 turns while your at it, then adjust your idle back down. Can't wait to see the video!
Early squad
Swap the 33s and rims to project truck, get 37s and bigger offset rims??
The fastest start up i ever heard
Did someone kidnap 6.0 Flow?....your fault Loud and Proud you introduced us all to him and said he would be good ....Bammmm that's for missing one day lol now your off the hook
i know righttttt.... its looks like 6.0flow fell off of the youtube world but he probably started school and he probably cant upload any vidjas
nice work.
WorknDeezls thanks!
Also btw clockwise and counterclockwise is how you say it
Get a obs for your next truck
Idle should be @750
Boost Bros. mine is now set to 850 in park and 750 in drive...
This dude is right,750 is a good number, can be hard on the trans banging it in gear
JD Kirane very funny 😂
hey loudnproud do u know what happen to 6.0flow??? its looks like he fell off of the youtube earth lol
Most Cummins do well at 600 to 750 rpm.
Do some interior upgrade like led lighting inside
Great vids tho love them
Factory settings is 900 rpm
I think during cold start the higher Idol might little bit more wear on the engine
The absolute worst thing you can do to a 2nd gen is put that 4th gen bumper on it. It doesn’t fit and is way too big. Looks horrible.
Ya have to give big red a new name and welcome to the Family new but old truck
Beautiful cummins bro
Ok i dont much back Cummins im a Power stroke guy
get some foggers in that bumper mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
alotandstuff on the way
#loadandproudfam
You listened
Ketchup 2003 I usually do👌
I found alot of your videos needing to be skipped thru to get to the point, and like others, this was disappointing, so much so i'll be doing some diy types as well. You got lazy and didnt even correct the issue properly to what your beginning intentions were.
Are you and Josh going to be roommates? Assuming that's why you would go to Ohio
Blackout_o3o nope.. he lives in Erie pa
Ah ok. I thought he lived in Ohio. My bad.
Blackout_o3o nah haha
LOUD 'N' PROUD I like your style
