HI I was wondering if you guys had to get a Vietnamese license to drive the scooter.

We did not have our motorcycles licenses, so it is easily doable. If we were to do it again, I think we would have. The laws in Vietnam seem to be somewhat loose in that regard
Travel insurance should cover you in the event of an accident, but NOT if you don’t have a motorcycle license from your country.
