Not speaking up that I didn’t want my locs palmrolled during my retwist. Using a tight hairband that thinned my loc ends. Not switching to interlocking sooner when i realized my hair grows out of the locs
I'm in school so as a anxious tick I play with my locs and I find myself picking them out at the ends...its kind of satisfying, but then I regret it. I do spray a bit of rose water on my hair every morning for a little moisture and I stay in a bonnet.
Woop 🙌 ! I rem I also had gel buildup from my last retwist, and just like you I couldn’t ignore it. I had to do a detox. Also it’s made me decide to do my own retwists so that I can control the amount of product used
@@extra-ebony I totally get this. For me I think I just really got urked by the product use, and hated how I felt afterwards, but to each their own right, as long as you're good at the end of the day 🤗
My first set of locs I took too long in between retwist during the starter loc phase and the parts started to come together etc. this second set I’m more diligent to retwist every three weeks and some maintenance separation in between
Omg I know that it depends on the persons but I really thought that the more you separate your retwists, the better it is at first (so that the locks don't become too thin and brittle), I'm so lost lmao
I combined 4 locs into 2 about 4-5 months into my loc journey. I now think 2 of those locs would have been fine. I stopped banding my hair to wash it before the end of my first year. Then, a couple months later I went back to banding before shampooing. Consequently, fewer locs tried to marry on wash day. Thanks to RUclips content makers like yourself, I set up a maintenance routine (that changes over time) and have not made a lot of mistakes.
Your Locs 😭😍😍😍💙 I love watching all your videos and seeing the transformation from the puff to the locs down your back sis.! But to add to the lint in your locs im ALWAYS getting aloe Vera chunks stuck in my locs 😩 and I’m picking and pulling them out to we’re I’m pulling pieces of hair out my locs

I'm about to cry because I'm coming up on 2 years in 3 months and this week I got them bleached and dyed for this 1st time and my locs immediately look destroyed! I mean some of the ends giving lil Wayne 😢 I am about to cut them all off
I retied my new growth yesterday. It looks like it’s thinning out and I’m scared that it’ll be like that in the long run (I’m 7 months in my loc journey) What would you suggest? Do I just wait it out till I have new growth then retwist it or…I don’t know My type is 4C, semi microclos/semi thick
My only mistake was thinking that I could wash my locs and go to bed because it would take forever for my hair to dry. Now I have quite a few flat locs.
have you made any loc mistakes?

I tried to get away from interlocking for maintenance but 4.5 months seems to be the longest I can go without.

Omg I’ve heard of that happening ! I try not to wait too long either since I want my grid to show

Bleaching my hair twice, cutting my ends while they were still lockin. I think that’s everything I regret
Twice ?! 😭 hahahha omg

it's probably fine BUT i say to make a professional appointment for your next retie and see what they say just to be sure
