Man, season 1 was pretty hard for me to get into, because the pacing isn't great, and frankly ALL the characters come off as dicks, like it's almost uncomfortable to watch because they're all so self-absorbed and just rude. Then they managed to take all those characters and flip them around into understandable, lovable people. It's so good now that the Magicians is the show I get most excited about watching every week.
I think Elliot and Margot's code conversation in the woods pretty much sold me on this show forever. It's brilliant.
