FY 2024-25 Budget & Legislative Highlights: Education (PreK-12)

During this year's legislative and budget session, my colleagues in the New York State Senate Democratic Conference and I fought hard to secure big wins for students, educators, and schools in the Southern Tier and across New York. We restored proposed cuts to foundation aid funding, secured $100 million for Universal Pre-K, and delivered $180 million to expand the free school meal program across our state. I also worked to support the Binghamton City School District by establishing a multi-year cost allowance to help fund the much-needed renovations at Roosevelt Elementary School.
