Heartwarming Moment Orangutan Cares For Son and Grandson

- Watch as amazing Mother Jazz feeds her son and adopted grandson.
The Orangutan family including Mother Jazz and her daughter Sprout have their hands full with these two babies that are growing up fast and becoming stronger every day!
Mother Orangutan Jazz gave birth to her son Jim and 1 month later her Daughter Sprout give birth to a son named Joe at Dudley Zoo. Unfortunately First time mother Sprout wasn't quite ready to raise her baby and Jazz stepped in to raise the 2 babies herself
These days Sprout has more of an interest in her son and baby brother and often playfully interacts with them
Jim is slightly larger and has lighter fur than his nephew Joe.
Amazingly Jazz took over the responsibility in true hero grandmother style and is still caring for and feeding both babies.
Watching this family is truly awe inspiring and younger mother Sprout is starting to interact more with the babies now and we will upload a video of this soon. We are sure that this experience will enable her to be ready for motherhood next time around.

That look of utter bliss of an orangutan mother when she's connecting with her child (and grandchild) always gets me. I know that feeling. I've had that feeling.

Jazz is such a wonderful Mom/Grandma!!! She is patient, fair, and gentle. When Jim is jumping and pulling on her arm she just gently moves him away, but when he is hungry, she wraps her arm around him, and then repositions him to "his side". When both boys are feeding she hugs them, then when Jim is done and tries to annoy Joe she so lovingly turns away and protects him from harassment. It's so amazing that she doesn't differentiate her affection between either baby, she loves and protects both equally. Truly beautiful!!!♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🏿🙏🏻

@@nonishah123 The older of the two babies (Jim) is her biological son, which is why she has breast milk available. The younger (Joe) one is her grandson.
What an amazing mom and grandma ❤ Just beautiful how she cares for both of them.
Óla 👋 I love Jazz so much 😍♥️ she really is a wonderful mom, she raises alone since their birth her son and grandson in exactly the same way, without any difference ; with the same dedication, the same patience, the same care and especially with the same love. The first baby had started sucking before the second and when he finished he wanted to play, so she turned around for the second to drink as much as he wishes without being disturbed ; while loving and knowing how to remain firm… with so much tenderness and love, yet still firm… what a wonderful mother 💖 most orang-utan moms are very attentive and protective, devoted to their baby and of infinite patience and love jazz is all this and much more… multiplied by two, 24/7 for her son and grandson whom she has adopted since his birth. Jazz is truly exceptional, she has a heart much bigger than herself, I really love her ♥️ From France with big hugs 👋😘😘😘

@tavibaby Unfortunately that is what many parents in the western world do with their own babies. Dread that day. So they try to keep their children from learning how to be self-reliant adults. For example they may send their children to school to learn algebra, but they refuse to show them how to open a checking account and write a check, or use a debit card. These days, an extreme example of this is that some parents are even arranging for their children to have "puberty blockers" drugs to prevent them from maturing sexually normally, in order to delay the process of their children becoming an adult.

Came across these orangutan’s by accident, it is amazing how the gran takes care of her grandson along with her son.Thank u for the description under ur video,helped a lot to understand but I have one question , when the mum didn’t take care of her son ,did the care staff have to step in & help the gran to care for the grand son or did the grandmother step straight in herself?(sorry I’m just starting to learn everyones names)?@Ape Tracker

Human intervention was not necessary as Jazz, the mother to Jim, and grandmother to Joe, immediately intervened after her daughter Sprout began to walk away after giving birth.

To: @avrilmcclure4600 - You are not alone in wishing to witness the birth of Joe but unfortunately video of that particular moment, in all probability, has not been captured. Comments by SV (Slogger Vlogger) indicate that it was the keeper's who informed her of what had transpired at the actual birth, when visiting after the event.

Wonderful wonderful wonderful to see this. My son used to do the same thing as orang #1, the baby on the mother orang's left breast. He would latch on to his mom's nipple, begin drawing in milk - and then poke his finger into his mom's mouth. Oh yea, I just remembered - also in her nose and her eye. I think it is so sad that they are being held captive, held captive in a human-made habitat instead of in their natural place in the forest. I don' t think our desire to enjoy seeing them should not take priority over their right to their habitat. Did they commit a crime, is that why they are being held captive? Even if there is a good reason, say for example captive breeding were the only way to preserve them, it is still sad. And of course a better way to preserve them would be to *stop destroying their natural habitat." Now, it would be rude of people in the western world to tell people in Sumatra or other places where there is still some natural habitat for orangs remaining - after we just finished destroying natural habitats for numerous wild animals, numerous human tribes, and let's not forget the plants whose habitats the west has destroyed.
@Apetracker. Do you have a video of the day Jazz got Joe from Sprout?? How did that happen? Did the staff give him to her or did she take him from Sprout? It would be interesting to know the whole story. Thanks for all of your videos!😊
Thanks Julie, sadly I don't have any footage of them just after they where born. Staff told me that Sprout didn't show any interest in baby and Jazz just took over and started looking after both babies. 🥰
