I do like the hole in the cassette player for adjusting the play head. That’s a good little piece of attention to detail they could have left out but they didn’t.
Am I the only one that misses your daily shows???!!! This certainly looks like a good overall starter unit. The only thing that they could have added would have been a CD player. If they had that, then you wouldn’t need anything else. The one thing I would tell someone who wants to buy this unit, is what you mentioned- get a diamond stylus. The sound quality will be improved and it won’t wear out as quickly.
This has that classic look of the mid 70's stereos I grew up with it looks like it is well made and sound was not bad the minor thing I don't like is the dust cover it should at least cover the whole top of unit you don't want dust also getting on cassette deck or at least make it look nicer it looked kind of flimsy buy other than that it looks great and unique JRo
Just a helpful hint: I had been using Crosley units for years and always had the issue of the motors burning out because of what I think caused the motor burnout issue - the heavy rubber mats on the units. I then bought a Jensen and noticed that the rubber mat for record protection was also absurdly heavy so I removed that and substituted a light foam sheet which I cut in a circular shape and placed on the turntable. This unit has so far been working out perfectly with no issues for over 5 years now. Those heavy rubber mats are what causes motor burnouts - get rid of them! Thanks for explaining impedance fixing - it worked wonderfully on my Jensen - now the sound is not thin and sharp!
Actually looks and sounds very good. The cheapo units are certainly improving and what impresses me most is a stereo head on the cassette deck. Wonder if the UK will get that model? Great review as usual..👍
nice looking unit, seems to be a step up from other similar units. i like the fact it has a pitch control and tone.nice that they included a cassette deck, not a bad unit all in all, thanks for sharing
Is it me or was there a good amount of wow and flutter both on the tape mechanism and the record player? If only they made this with a magnetic cartridge and mechanism like an AT-L3600. I like the overall look, that's awesome. And at a price range of about $120-$130 it's a nice setup.
This unit does look pretty good. It' s a shame when we have to check if it is a stereo head on the cassette deck - sign of the times i guess. Have to admit it seemed better than first expected- is the platter quite small ( looked like it)? Anyway, keep up the videos- twice a week does seem to suit both you and your audience. Best wishes from England.
i went to the local market today,a different one to the usual place i go,and purchased a technics turntable and this is nothing compared to that deck...i bet the famous radio DJ "Kid Jensen" would sound rich through this deck,on FM.That deck sure knows how to turn,...its turned me on....looking gravy,i mean groovy man...
Does it matter? Given the horrendously poor quality of broadcasting these days, I think a good radio on a chip from SONY such as this channel reviewed last year in that Indian radio is more than adequate.
Hey man sorry I didn’t see your original comment. They way to know if it’s digital is when you are tuning. If it’s digital the sound will clip on and clip off as you scroll through the stations if its digital. An analog radio will swell up with static as you slide down the tuning dial.
Very reminiscent of the old 70s 'music centres' we had back then (although most had separate speakers). This looks a nice unit, and appears well built, and for the type, it sounds half decent! A great system for someone new to having a stereo, or wanting a neat, compact, and convenient system... :-)
Great review and it sounds excellent. If you put in a living room or a bedroom it would have a richer more satisfying sound, with the couch (or bed), rug, drapes and books. Have a good week, my friend.
That's a cool unit. It's a nice all-in-one stereo system for youngsters first system and for casual listening. Also the radio dial looks like a horizontal speedometer from a 1940's car!
Can't say I agree upon the comment made on the ceramic versus magnetic phono cartridge punch. What would be really cool is if they could design a turntable mechanism that resembles the old-school Dual turntable mechanism. I recently bought a Thorens TD 103 A turntable for my 2 Channel audio system. I'm in somewhat of a process of rebuilding a new audio system considering all the equipment in my current one is about 20 years old and it's time to rebuild a new one. But back to the turntable, the Thorens turntable is a fully automatic turntable that bears a price tag of $1,400 but the price tag isn't as important as the point I am trying to make. It utilizes the old school Dual turntable mechanism. That kind of mechanism would really make this system on this video really look cool.
Recently got this good sounding unit for the price the only issue with mine was the dust cover was cracked when it was delivered otherwise I don’t have any issues with it
Hi this is 8tracker Mike. Does this Jensen have the turntable with the auto return feature? And do you think that any of these companies will ever market the return of 8 track players in these all in one Stereo systems? Because I think that would truly be an awesome feature. I had sent you a picture of the 8 track I installed in an all in one Stereo several months ago.
The TEAC is much better quality, and has a cassette player, a CD recorder and USB output. It’s the same cheap plastic type of record player, but it plays flawlessly. But the TEAC unit is almost triple the price of this. I have 2 of them!
I wish I could get excited for all these cheap record players. I really do. I just can’t fathom myself using my records on them. The ideas on all of them are so cool. But I just can’t. And idc if the impedance is matched. There’s no way they sound anywhere near my table or any of these nice mid to mid high range tables. I can tell instantly. I do however enjoy watching these videos. I’m not trying to knock anything. I just can’t agree. Plus I bet he does actually use any of these. He’s prob got a really nice one. These are just content. Which is great.
Hello, I watched the explanation of the video and it was a beautiful and useful explanation. I have a point I would like to inquire about, is the power source, is it 110 volts or 220 volts Note that the electricity in my country, Kuwait, is 220-240 volts I would like you to help us in this matter Thank you very much and I wish you good luck Abdullah from Kuwait
It even looks like 👍 this has a VU meter.. Hey, it even lights up ☝!!. By looks, this is truthfully eye candy 🍬. This must be a bookshelf stereo. VWestlife often comments about these. I will guess this has a magnetic cartridge. Your friend, Jeff.
I'm old enough to remember what jensen stood for. Sigh. I'd probably have given this home music center a much higher rating if it had been named 'double happy good luck fun' or some such name. It's a good thing that the people all these DUAL and jensen and other once-proud name stereos are aimed at haven't a clue what the names once meant. I mean, not even a diamond? Yes, I'm complaining, but, come on, that is the absolute minimum.
It looks nice, but at the end of the day it's not much better than the rest of the low end crap that's all you can get now. The knobs look plastic, the record player didn't seem to have much bass, but maybe that was just the record being played. I'm surprised there is a pitch control though, and the tape deck on the other hand has the crappy tension sensor for auto stop, permanent magnet erase, it's probably not even AC bias.
Beautiful and Utilitarian unit, with a tone control !! Looks truly retro. The cassette door could have opened a wee bit more, just to clean the heads and negotiating a stuck cassette. Otgerwise, it's Nice !!👍😊
He has indeed given away many turntables and records to viewers! He recommends hitting the bell notification so you know when he goes live which is where most giveaways occur.

I miss them and I'm usually much more forgiving. I just recollect too well what 'jensen' once upon a time meant in the audio world.

Love the intro!
I hooked this up to my 1978 soundesign 8 track receiver for bigger sound.
I love the look of this so much that I ordered one. I don’t need it as I have several TEAC all in ones, but I just had to have this!
Keep the videos coming Mr. Record-ology Dude Man! I really enjoy this one!
My personal favorite, is the pitch control.
I think this is a fabulous package recordology.the best one yet.very impressed
Nice system. Looks like a music centre type that was popular in the late 70s and early 80s.
I shaw 9.55 in the meter while measuring the tracking force but as it turned out it actually was 5.56 upside down.
I saw that too! Thanks for clearing up that issue!
You where using the pitch control on the cassette deck not the tone control.
Great video. I really like the unit might have to pick one up. Keep up the great work. Have a great holiday 😎👍
Will it hookup to my stereo receiver being it has its own speakers!!! LOVE THE SHOW!!!
nice looking unit, seems to be a step up from other similar units. i like the fact it has a pitch control and tone.nice that they included a cassette deck, not a bad unit all in all, thanks for sharing

I noticed too, that's unacceptable IMO
I wish he had put on a strobe disc to see what the wow and flutter is.
Can you put the lid down while the record is playing?

This looks good! Thanks for another great review 😊 I don’t think I can buy it in Australia though, so that’s a shame
Hey Recordology, how can I tell if a tuner is analogue or digital? I'm kinda new to this thing

@@ethelryan257 nah it don't matter, im just curious on how it works

Is there a way I could record onto a CD? From either tape or turntable?
Great review and it sounds excellent. If you put in a living room or a bedroom it would have a richer more satisfying sound, with the couch (or bed), rug, drapes and books. Have a good week, my friend.

Love the review...Have a system...but sound is not as clear. Nice streamlined style. 🎶🎵
No longer on Amazon...but HSN...$99
Recently got this good sounding unit for the price the only issue with mine was the dust cover was cracked when it was delivered otherwise I don’t have any issues with it
The only things I don’t like about these are the plasticky and shinny look where they designed it with the metal look in mind
This could be good machine in the end has that classic look from the 1970's

Nice unit! Thank you for the review. Do you know the retail price?
I like the design and cassette recording feature
TEAC also has a compact stereo but it probably has better quality. and on it you can also record on CDs

do you have a copy of this album:Benny Goodman Sing Sing Sing Live in Brussels 1958 .i know where one is, for less than 3 dollars
Is there another show coming tomorrow?
My main turntable is a at lp 60 but I got this for a secondary player
does this have bluetooth out, like for bluetooth speakers?
No. No Bluetooth whatsoever.
Very retro record player. Like the music BTW.
Edit: my first 'first post'!
Only thing missing is the ability to play USB/MicroSD media.
I agree! The ability to digitize wirhout a pc is important to me

Just to let you know it's unavailable at the present time via Amazon, so anyone wanting one might have to shop around.
They got them on the Target website
Nice!!!
That's one of your better stereos, or, at least, record player. Is it real wood? Like 👍 having Christmas 🎄 every day.
Other testers also check the speed deviation in the tape recorder
Does the pitch control also work with the casette player?
No.
I get no sound when playing a cassette! Right out of the box!
I'm old enough to remember what jensen stood for.

Good bass too
From what movie is the intro?
The movie is "It's a Wonderful Life".
It’s a Wonderful Life
2:54 - PEEL IT SLOWER!

I have one of those
kinda looks like a TV set
Should have external speakers
Looks like a 1970s stereo system but instead of a 8 track a cassette also it is not a record changer.
😍

Has this guy ever given anything away to his subscribers or does he sell everything on eBay oh maybe his house is full of record players
He has indeed given away many turntables and records to viewers! He recommends hitting the bell notification so you know when he goes live which is where most giveaways occur.
Ya know I'm all for low end stuff like crosley and victrola...but some of jensens Stuff is junk cheap
That is one of the ugliest and nastiest pieces of crap I have seen for a long time.
Seems cheap to me.
