Fun fact the show was supposed to be discontinued after Sukuna removed yuji’s heart at the detention center if the series didn’t do well

Good review in terms of expressing your view, but I disagree with your stance mainly because I have my own viewpoint.
Firstly, in regards to Yuji not being unique or not emotionally appealing. I dont see how this is a problem, and I dont see how this would be relevent. People are going to have their own emotional driving factors when it comes to characters they like whether that be straight violent characters for bullied kids, silent shy kids for weebs, or straight up blank slaights for boring people.
For me Yuji was a blank slaight and I think what made him good in this sense was that he doesnt really know truly what he is and is going through the world as it is. I found this interesting like other shows (Bleach, and the like) because you have a seemingly normal character with the 'morally rightous' motivations of human kind who dont realize how seemingly busted they are or could be and the world is changing rapidly around them. I personally love stories like this and if this makes me bland than so be it.
Also in regards to Yuji simply returning to his 'dumb' state after the incident with Junpei I completely understand. This was a friend he made, and a friend he saw be killed, and than he just got over it like it was nothing. However, I would argue that due to the fact that Yuji at this point is starting to learn about the world, has a few friends to rely on, and slightly understands his purpose as a vessel to die, its not too far off on how real people act when they lose someone. You cant be depressed forever, Yuji is still young, and this friendship although traumitizing was temporary and short, but I still definentily understand your frustration with how he reacted especially with Mahito still being alive at that point.
Secondly and Finally, in regards to deaths. I see it like this. Take an Anime and mix it with the real world as much as possible. For me, JJK isnt an anime about friendship and powerups. When Gege kills a character, their dead either by chance, misfortune, a mistake, or simply being killed by another character. I like this approach because its very hands off and taking 'Some' of the plot armor off of the story and making it real. I can see why you dont like it because some of the deaths are in front of Yuji, but to me that is more of Yuji being in the wrong place at the wrong time trying his best to be active in helping the world. Everyone in the anime goes through misfortune regardless of their supposed worth and I like that because it shows Human Fallibility, and how we are not as strong as we think we are.
This is simply my point of view, of course there are more than just these, but there are the main ones I disagree with from your video. Cheers.

didn't expect such a good comment, but yeah i guess each has their own perspectives/opinions? I don't agree with the points you made, for example the "mixing reality with anime" cause anime is sort of an escape from irl and at the end of the day it is a fantasy world where stuff like curses exist so I don't think it shall be mixed with reality in any way or form. But I do understand your pov 🤜

A lot of the origin regarding Yuji (and his grandpa as well by proxy) is starting to be slowly revealed in both the anime and the manga, so I think the pay-off for that will be worthwhile. As for why certain characters died in Shibuya like they did, Gege likes shock value quite a bit. With Nanami and Nobara, Nanami was at his limit, and Nobara fell for a fatal trick that Mahito pulled on her. Both of their deaths, along with Todo's words of inspiration, inspire Yuji to keep going and to honor them as much as possible. Yuji's character revolves around him being resilient, and he carries the losses of people within him very deeply. He'll never forget Junpei, Nanami, or Nobara, and he realizes that he has to keep on living as that's what they would have wanted him to do.

I think good story telling is about converseing the audience in his story

Yuji was holding back, it caused him more trouble throughout the series. He must solve it with his own abilities which he learn not borrowing technique from higuruma because he stole it from Sukuna.

I disagree on ur take on gojo being a ripoff of kakashi. U can clearly see inspirations from Kakashi, but the way the characters r written aside from face value aspects(design, sensei), the 2 characters r completely different. Kakshi is rlly well written but my opinion is that gojo has more consistent writing ands better in the story of jjk than kakashi. And his character arc is far different from kakshi as well along with his development.
Regarding the deaths in jjk, the only "death"(not confirmed dead) i would say was done poorly was nobara. A big strength in gege's writing is that hes good at making us like a character deepite what little screentime they already had. Gojo sukuna yuta toji r all clear examples. His biggest weakness in this aspect tho, is that hes bad at explaining things so a lot of the writing of those characters r often missed. Nanami already had his full character arc by the time he died. There was nothing to deveop from. U can see his development in the way he talks about jujutsu work in general. U can tell haibara heavily effected him as a character from when hes in hidden inventory and current story. There was no more development to made from him. He was one of the most solidified characters in his ideals and morals and in a good way, which is direct contrast to mei mei, who dies the same job that helps humanity, but is an awful person in general. Nanami thinking of maki and megumi is his last moments showed the type of character he was. All that was needed was his character to ve expanded on, which it was, but he didnt need development.
I can see ur point on yuji but im surprised u didnt mention his development in shibuya.

Fun fact the jujutsu kaisen's main inspirations are yu yu hakusho, hunter x hunter, and bleach what makes jjk good is how it takes what they did and combined it in its own story

good review but i personally disagree with your view on the deaths, i personally see the shibuya arc as the starting point for whats to come. yuji being ripped of people he cares about and he loses the will to fight completely after the death of nobora(who could still be alive) and is enraged after nanamis not to mention the despair he felt after sukunas rampage. yuji after shibuya will be at his lowest and is haunted by the actions carried out in his body that he feels responsible for. in my opinion jjk is just getting started shibuya did not happen too early it was just time for the show to get really started.

I see your point and I have not read ahead in the manga so idk what's to come, but ignoring what is "going" to happen and just focusing on what already happened, I was kinda underwhelmed with so many characters dying so early. I get the Yuji point you made but there are other ways to do that without literally killing 60% of your main cast 💀

“Behavioural changes” dis dude, expects a character change through one event, dude claims itadori to be cliche protag but argues of having him a most cliche character development isn’t cliche..lmao

    • @Amethax
      @Amethax  3 месяца назад

yeah that "one event" being his very first friend (except the main trio) we saw him make in the series die in front of his eyes, he legit said 'I will kill you' which goes against everything Itadori stands for, that's how much of an impact that moment had on him... and there's absolutely nothing wrong with using cliche tropes if you use them well. (which I did mention at the end of the video)
