Eva 4.0, watchmen HBO, nmh3/TSA, the return, and now matrix resurrections from what it seems. I will prolly like it tho I love the matrix world. Mctronalds :')

@@MAS7s no this seems to be explicitly commentary on the red pill/blue pill terminology and how's it's adopted into culture now. It's commentary on the matrix film series itself. There's footage of the old movie for example. Not media as a whole. While that may be there too.

I was watching this VOD on Twitch and went to rewind it and wasn't able to because it had been taken down, figured it'd be up here in a little while and here it is. I really loved this and also I'm really hoping you do more Commentaries, Rocco. It could be great to have singular and group commentaries even, maybe Futureprobe Commentary Specials?

It's a sequel.
Guessing Neo wasn't actually dead and the machines put him to sleep while they restored him, sent him into the Matrix & rewrote his memories.
The Matrix isn't perfect, or Smith would never have been a threat. So The One is eventually needed again, and The Machines either put him in the Matrix to either attempt to imprison him, or as part of a deal between Neo & Them to end the conflict between Machine & Humans.
Also, the characters have aged. Neo is needed again and a new cast(mostly) take the mantle of the old Nebuchadnezzar teams cause(find & awaken The One)
Also when The Oracle says "I suppose" it implies we might see Neo again, but he may not be the same Neo.
I think might also be keep Neo alive in the matrix so the machines know who is “the one” and easier to track/keep down. Then have a random anomaly pop up
Looks like at least at the start of the movie Neo is in a simulation within a simulation, like the machines have separated Neo off from the actual Matrix and have put him in his own little blue pill playground. The machines then bring in Trinity, who is actually someone else who has had Trinity written over them, like how Smith could possess people in the other movies.
The girl with the blue hair and the "new" Morpheus look like they're part of the simulation as well, new Morpheus could possibly be an Agent that has gone rogue as there is also a shot where he's dressed in a similar suit.
In some ways it looks like Neo is running his own simulation, it could be possible that he's creating Trinity and the events that happen. Like the machines are using him as an even stronger Architect by blue pilling him. Trinity comes from "father, son and holy spirit", could be back into the Christ allegory where Neo and Trinity are actually the same person.
Yeah I was thinking Neo is in some kind of 'holding dock' simulation, and then other characters/ programs etc. enter and manipulate him by making him remembering things and pretending they are characters from his past, so that they can have him 'reawaken', become powerful again and, by manipulating him, use him as a powerful weapon or something.
When 'Morpheus' offers Neo the two pills, he is dressed in a black and red suit that is earily similar to what The Merovingian was wearing in Revolutions. And since The Merovingian likes to collect strong programs around him to make himself powerful... well Neo is an extremely powerful 'program'/ weapon to have around.
What for? In The Matrix Online he (together with a character called The General, who uses an army helicopter... like the two in the Resurrections trailer) want to restart the war. But perhaps not and Resurrections takes place way further into the future, where a new war has already been fought and Zion is gone. So whatever.
And perhaps, while an evil factions (The Merovingian or whatever) wants to manipulate Neo and use him, a team of good guys (incl. Bugs etc.) want to save him from that and get a hold of him for themselves.

At 2:21 when Neo is on the bike with Trinity you see a bunch of dudes with green glowing eyes chasing them after them all, they look like they're possessed by the Matrix or something. One of them looks like Hugo Weaving.

When Trinity is doing that scream thing when you see multiple versions of her, if you pause the frame you see some other woman as well. It looks like an Asian actress.
If you’re talking about distractions, implementing the events of the previous iteration of The Matrix as a piece of fiction within the system is a masterful way of hiding the tree in the forest so to speak.

It's not going to be that way and here's why. If you watch closely right after the cut of the indian woman, you will see it's playing right beside Neo and there's also a projector playing when it cuts to Yahya saying "Time to fly." So my conclusion is it's just used as a way to remind Neo of what has happened.
Rocco is soooo in over his head with this franchise. Can't wait for the commentary.

I always really wanted to see the Horror themed version of the Matrix and what that was like. Sounded like it was just Victorian England with monsters but the idea that there was this horror themed version always interested me as a kid.
That was the second version of the matrix, called 'the paradise matrix', that's where Merovingian's henchmen in Reloaded are from. The first version was 'the paradise matrix', the perfect world that Smith was talking about in the first movie, The Architect was talking about in Reloaded (the one that was "flawless, sublime"), and where Seraph was from (he was an Angel there, which was the paradise matrix version of an agent).
Comes out on my birthday. The Matrix was the first trilogy I got obsessed with, before Star Wars.

My theory: The machines have created new versions of all of the original cast, with pre-programmed instructions to do the same things all over again. Young Morpheus, for example, is the machines' new version of Morpheus, designed to play the same role. He faithfully follows his programming without ever knowing why. However, because they've updated the setting of the Matrix to 2021, things start slipping, and these pre-programmed heroes question their functions. This works as a commentary on Hollywood's attempts to reboot classic stories that don't fit into the very different world we now live in.
I cannot wait for this film. The Matrix is my favorite cinema franchise in existence. Watched all movies like 20+ times, the Animatrix, read the comics, played the games and had over 12000 clocked in the MMORPG.
If the plot ends up being that Neo is implanted with fake memories that he was an actor in 3 Matrix movies, I'm not kidding, that would be so incredible. And absolutely sounds like some cerebral stuff the machines/agent programs would try to keep him sedated. Plus it's a great dig at rebooting franchises.

I like how they're trying to show us, that the machines needed to get rid of payphones, as they were used for transport between the two "worlds", so now everyone just has smartphones.. Problem solved!

I just finished the third movie, and I'm pretty excited for this one. I wasn't all that impressed by the writing of the trilogy, especially the third one, but at least from what the trailer shows, this one might be better in that department. If they have a good story and good writing on top of the cool action stuff and iconic shots, then this movie will be golden.

This was a great discussion. You guys got me excited for a sequel to one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I'm going to do a rewatch and try my best to have an open mind. I haven't seen 2 or 3 since the theater.

I want Lana to pick up on the thread from Resurrections that never explained why Neo & Smith could use powers outside the Matrix.
All freed humans are part machine, they have components inside their bodies that lets them jack-in to the Matrix for example. The Matrix signal is broadcasted all over the world wireless that's why Neo was able to shut down the Sentinels, because he could connect to the Matrix and influence the Sentinel's machinery.

It's gonna be about the new characters, neo and trinity are just "getting the old band back together". There will be moments where neo is "the old code" or something, and he has to learn the way things are "now". And he'll die, passing the torch or something. Gonna be about death, embracing new, etc.

I’ve always thought that if we were in a simulation having a self aware movie called the matrix would make it easier for us to accept reality because the truth would be hiding in plain sight. Any thoughts about “waking up” would feel silly because you saw it in a movie and you didn’t come up with the idea on your own.
Also with this trailer I predict that smith is inside neo and he will choose the blue pill to live a human life in order to understand “the purpose”
I think Rocco has a good prediction about how the phrase “red pilled” will be turned on it’s head. Maybe after the matrix 4 comes out, the phrase “blue pilled” will be a way to refer to someone who lives life in the moment instead of seeking power or knowledge.
Cypher was a bad guy but he lived in a time before choice. And he missed living a normal life. Maybe the new rebooted matrix has a way of being able to choose which pill you want to take again. So if you feel like cypher did (SPOILERS) you don’t have to make deals with the devil (Smith) and kill your whole ass crew.

I've honestly never seen Rocco experience this level of childhood wonder before. It's a shame we didn't get to see his reaction to the teaser site before the trailer came out because he probably would've loved it with it reading your computer's internal clock and picking random shots each time you picked a pill even if it was the same one twice.
CRAZY TIME: The machines are trying to make a one who is more under their control so the neo we have in the movie is the combined dislocated consciousness of neo from the first trilogy stuck in a microcasm of the matrix run by a new architect to try and understand the nature of the anomaly. When we see the two pods they are neos old body and a surrogate that is meant to recreate the conditions of the anomaly for the machines use. The Morpheus, trinity, and other elements are just fragments of neos memory and a further effect his evolving powers are having on the matrix itself. My guess is the story will begin with the new character girl being a runner of the new zion accidentally finding a backdoor into the matrix and trying to get neo out. But in doing so she triggers the micro-matrix to turn upon neo and her to try to stop her from waking him up. In doing so I think what will happen is through it all the machines have underestimated his power and neo will choose to return to the land of the real. But in doing so he will imprint trinity onto a new body and thus resurrect them both into the true matrix/real world. Thus the new trilogy will involve multiple version of the one conflicting with each other and the new nature that humans find themselves in.
