can I add... recently ran into a great product for this. The wire sold for use with invisible dog fence products. It is direct buriable has a really tough jacket , it's copper and it's cheap!
Very nice! I need to make these for my wolf river coil. My friend made three tape measure radials by soldering a six inch piece of wire and connector to the end of the tape measures they're yellow for visibility and retract when not needed, They're great for quick deployment but if time permits yours are what I'll use.
Don’t know about teaching granny to suck eggs, you can teach an old dog new tricks. Always great to see how others construct things as the say every day is a learning day. Great vid. I use strippers more or lest the same as you and don’t have any issues as they don’t dig into the wire. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Want to make ground plane radials for a 9 ft bull whip antenna. Which radial design would get me the most out of my antenna and low SWR. I will be mounting the mast on a balcony railing with the 9ft whip on a so239 connector top floor apartment with roof above me. I want to get the maximum benefit from the radials can you help?? THIS IS FOR CB RADIO 👍👍
Sorry, missed this comment. I cant help a whole lot. is your balcony metal? Can you ground your mount to that? Im not sure what frequency your using it on? CB? 10m? Dont worry about long radials, just get as many short ones as you can in any configuration you can manage.
Handy to know how other people tackle this job. Thanks, Colin.😃👍
Bit labour intensive but works well.

Good idea. Once you get the hang of it, these are surprisingly quick to set up.
Nicely done! Thanks for the technique and detail! 👍📻⚡️🍺
Great video, nice job. Your way looks like I will be using your Technique. Thanks for posting..

Radial lenght please
These ones are 2m long each. I use for 20m band upwards.
