I am very new to Lightburn. Is it possible to draw a net for a packaging box, and have it laser cut with dotted lines where the box is to be folded? Thank you.
Good video and I will be printing the sheet out soon. One question. If I reassign a hot key or create a new one (can I do that in LB?) is there a way to print out my revised hot key cheat sheet? BTW, new subscriber and gonna check out your other stuff.
Hi Larry - that's a great question. To my knowledge, I don't believe there is a way to print out a revised cheat sheet directly from the LightBurn software unfortunately. I got the cheat sheet from LightBurn's website (not through the software), and I don't believe that file is exportable from the software directly.
If you try to set a shortcut and you get "[key] uses an un-modified character key" (In my case "Del" key) You can set it doing this: 1. Set a shortcut for the (command you want) with Shift, Alt or Ctrl (or all of them) + a letter 2. Export the hotkeys (file [anyName].ibhk) save it in a place that you find it (Ex: the Desktop) 3. Open the file exported (*.ibhk) with notepad or notepad++. 4. Find inside the opened file the hotkey combination and remplace it with the key that you want (the format must be "[commandName]" : "[theKeyThatYouWant]" ) 5. Save the file 6. Import it back 7. press OK
Using and showing the hockey's are fine...if you use a Mac. For those of us who use windows have to translate the first commands that require the command keys.
Yes, you can do that. I'm not sure what the hotkeys are, but you can find the distribute buttons among the "arrange" tools, which are usually in the upper right hand corner of the top menu.
@@asherdiy Yes i got it answered. I had beginner layout pre-selected. I switched to "ADVANCED LAYOUT" and i got a good portion of tools i am used to in Adobe Illustrator.
Hey Jim - you don’t need any set-up to start using hotkeys. All the hotkeys I showed in this video are active by default in LightBurn, except for the one where I show how to set a custom hotkey. Hope that helps!
ok, I'm trying to center a name within a rectangle When I hit either the c or e, it moves the rectangle NOT the name. I cannot have the rectangle move. Help please and thank you
Hey Jim, I’d bet it’s the ORDER in which you selected the name/rectangle. That’s what determines which object moves and which stays. So try mixing up which item you select first, and that should do it!
The 90 Degree hot key was clutch...
Who knew?
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I have to say "Your vids are the answers to my prayers, Sir!" Are you on social media?

I think you just use CTRL on windows instead of CMD, so it should be a pretty easy translation. Let me know if that doesn’t work.
I am attempting to Distribute evenly (horizontally or vertically) i come from Adobe Illustrator background.. anything similar?

@@asherdiy What I did to make it work was to type in name, then rectangle, the from upper left surround it all then the c and e worked
