As a kid in the 90s I had a bunch of “Ankylosaurus” toys that were based on Euoplocephalus (and more specifically on a John Sibbick illustration), and I had enough decent books to know that they were two different animals and that Ankylosaurus was the biggest member of the family. So as a kid I always assumed Euoplocephalus was like 85-90% of the size of Ankylosaurus.
Receiving this figure (my wife got me both colors for my birthday) and putting it next to my PNSO Ankylosaurus was a bit of a shock! But that’s been part of the joy of dinosaur collecting for me - learning about these animals anew and unlearning assumptions I’ve had for the last 30 years.
