Not true. In the modern era, traditional bending is useless. Remember how Korra got absolutely beat up during her first encounter with the pro benders and with chi blockers? That’s because she was using traditional bending. Once she switched to pro bending, she didn’t lose to chi blockers or pro benders.
I always felt like the bending power in LOK was just weaker than ATLA. I know they are talented benders but it just feels like whenever the characters in LOK bend, it is just not as powerful. But villains bending do seem to be a bit more powerful tho. Is it because of the modern techniques or something? I just wanna understand that
There's almost no difference in bending power in both shows. Maybe it's because in ATLA we were constantly in the presence of legendary child bending masters or because you might be comparing buffed bending through Sozin's comet and the full moon to, LoK's non buffed bending.
@@deadlysilence7474 no man. It's not that. I've seen in some scenes that when you actually feel like the characters could take on that particular person they are fighting, they lose. Let's take korra for example. I have always thought that Korra could have taken down Kuvira, Those chi benders from equalist group and some more. But it just feels like her bending was weak or something that she actually lost to them (losing is one thing bit she lost to them very easily) and it always bothers me :( even mako and bolin are like that. It is most probably because the writers held back their power or they are plot holes
@@ashbihafathima5616 Well, for the Kuvira fight, if your talking about their first fight that's fairly easy to explain, as Korra was dealing with a mental block. The second fight Korra beat Kuvira pretty easily. As for the chi blockers, Korra had never encountered a chi blocker in her life until the equalists, so she didn't really know how to fight them. Kinda similar to how most of the world doesn't know how to fight airbenders.
I was thinking the same thing. Mako is talented but a lot of his firebending is just constrained to using his arms. In ATLA there was more than just using your arms to firebend, even the guards. They use their whole body and martial art techniques to firebend whereas Mako looks like he's punching air. I just feel like his talent was wasted. Bolin is pretty decent tho.
They did, actually? Sifu Kisu reprised his role as the martial arts consultant for _The Legend of Korra,_ it's just the animation, the frame rate, is somewhat... stilted: slow the video down to 0.75 and you'll see.
