As a player since launch the LFG jail in lower raids is a huge problem. Pretty much all the friends I have made over the past two years either have full 1620 rosters or 1-2 of their weakest characters in the 1600-1619 range. I think most if not all of the veterans have stopped running Brel, Kaya and Akkan. With the pressure of needing 1620s for T4 around the corner that puts NM Vold next on the chopping block. I think you nail the issues akkan has on the head and as a veteran I see no downside to nerfing the older content to help momokos actually clear their raids consistently so that they can continue to earn gold and join us in T4. I know that statics are not for everyone but for any mokokos that might read this please make friends it doesnt have to be a whole group of 7 people but its crazy how much of a difference a few good players make. I play with a group of 4 for all my raids and we pug the other 4 every week, we have been playing together long enough that we mesh very well together and can often just carry the raid to a clear even if the second party dies, I would not still be here playing without them. As always great content man glad to see you back ❤
Totally agree that hard akkan has been a miserable exp lately with pugs. To address the problems you list: 1) g4 worm is telegraphed. He always does the black smoke that covers majority of the map and one person gets the worm debuff after (ideally everyone runs back to avoid gauge and check for worm debuff, if you are going to greed dmg and take gauge, at least pay attention to the worm debuff). 2) The enhanced slime attack (the + # square attack), this one is time based, most of the time, he will do it either before x140 (small AoE around him only, like in g2 when he spawn tentacles), or right/soon after x140 mech (enhanced will be + # square). It depends on the dps of the party. As long as you are ready for it, you will always avoid it. 3) Lantern is totally miserable. Lantern is normal mode was whatever, you can get away with a bad lantern. Hard on the other hand, you need someone who is really good at lantern since there is more puddles spawning, there is the hag inside, and there will be more puddles spawn when people on the outside get hit and get gauge. So lantern in hard mode need to be x2-3 the speed of normal mode. This is also a problem for the entire raid actually. People outside get hit --> more puddles --> more gauge --> more puddles --> more gauge --> ... making lantern harder and the fight just becomes harder and harder. It is literally a spiral affect of bad things back to back and keeps getting worst. I think point 1-2 are fine for pugs, but 3, for the lantern, gauge, and puddles, they need to be nerfed. I progged akkan normal on release and hard akkan with a static, and it was so fun, but now that is it becoming homework and pugs are skipping normal akkan to go straight for hard akkan without learning the basics... it is just miserable pug exp. Not to mention, the fight is hella long without 1620+ juiced characters (which are all doing ivory hard/echidna normal/thaemine normal). So hakkan is targetted for 1600-1619, which essentially has very small dps difference due to lack of 35/40 set elixir.
For G4 the worms only spawn after he makes the Black shroud so you just look under your feet and if you have it you put the worm in a Corner away from Akkan, its super simple. If you have problems with people triggering it theres 2 things you Can do. Either just hold dmg and wait for the Black shroud and then push after, or on second smash so after the stagetilt mechanic. He will always and as in always do the wave mechanic with the yellow Lines before he goes into the Big slam where you need the worm. If you dont have the worm because someone triggered it in the tilt mechanic the team Can use the second wave he fires to get into the water. There you just hold the water spacebar untill he finishes his slam and then go up. Its very usefull and saves tons of runs! So if your know the second slam is comming and you dont have a worm just quickly type “use the wave” and Ping where they need to go!
Casual players are creeping up to those raids while most experienced people moved on to higher tier raids, so the jail rates are at all time high. My personal G3 nerfs I'd like to see: 1. Remove the lantern mechanic completely. Instead, in order to clean up the puddles, the group needs to kill a slime that would periodically spawn on the map. 2. Make drowning mini game much much easier and increase the number of stacks before you die 3. Decrease the amount of damage and gauge taken from being hit during the special timed patterns like the hashtag 4. Guillotines and blades should not one shot, instead they should damage equivalent to 50% of your HP 5. In G4 (big Akkan), the 235 and 135 wipe mechanics should be the same as in (4) (50% HP equivalent of damage) and should be timestoppable or supports can just DR you. 6. The person who gets MCed should be able to be saved by a hard CC or a sleep bomb just like in Echidna. 7. Remove resurrection of the dead people Changes 4, 6, and 7 are somewhat optional though, but the other changes are vital to make G3 less of a jail, especially that the hardcore players have left it for higher end raids, so that there is no reason to keep G3 HM Akkan as difficult as it currently is for the average player.
The amount of elitism of some ppl in this comment section is mind blowing... we should be glad about new players joining the game since it litterally keeps the game from dying but instead they only get trashtalked and getekept. Yall are the people that are supposed to teach them these raids - you know if they actually get some support to learn the raid they actually get better and yall are getting less jails... and maybe some of them actually stick with the game if they're not flamed 24/7 for trying to play the game...
I think what I'd do to fix lantern is A. have it start at statue mech and then B. make it so once you leave lantern you cannot go back in for a certain period of time. I think if it was something you actually had to hot potato around the group it would make it more engaging and feel like an actual group responsibility rather than just saddling some poor dude with it for the entire fight. If you had to wait like 2 minutes before going back in then everyone basically takes a turn going down and cleaning while also having plenty of time to DPS. I think the concept itself is interesting, just the execution needs work, which is why I think this solution is better than just removing it in its entirety. As for everything else I think it's kinda hard to tell what needs nerfs and what people just need time to learn. Especially because as you mentioned people's 1620+ mains and alts have moved on to Echidna the environment of the raid has changed with that. People got accustomed to a certain level of dps with those higher level characters available, so now that they're gone people need to relearn the fight a bit without that damage. Other things, such as the pulse damage and line damage during statue mech, definitely need to be looked at and tuned down. Anyways great video man! It's always nice to get your perspective on things like this since you're a newer player. Idk if anything will come of this discussion since we're phasing out Akkan almost completely with T4 on the horizon, but it definitely is still worth talking about in the broader sense of nerfing content that isn't in the top of the end game but is still relevant to new players and peoples alts.
Yea I totally agree with everything you said. But I think the main issue is just janitor. Alot of the times hakkan is hard at itemlevel because the damage is slower meaning the janitor has to spend the entire raid in there and sometimes the raid might require two janitors cause of gauge stacks. They just need to remove janitor and most of the other problems resolve itself. Extra dps = more dmg and less problems occurring. I dont really mind the other stuff tbh even if its a lil hard cause it helps keep it a little bit challenging especially for new players to learn more.
Prisons help develop character at least right…. Haha….! But yeah I feel like 1620 is the main parking spot now a days since that’s the T4 transfer spot so anything under is the newer crowd... They definitely need to nerf anything under 1630 raids imo since that’s where the express pass kinda pushes you towards. Also shape mech being a guaranteed use 1-2 pots is so frustrating even when I reclear on my juiced high ilvl characters lmao.
It's just giga jail due to being the brand new player learning grounds, which always happens as they give out higher and higher ilvl power passes. The same was true for brel be4 this, and earlier raids.
For that week or 2 after solo mode came out, a lot of people came back from hibernation and EVERY raid was a jail. Was doing Thaemine just fine for weeks and all of a sudden I'm jailed every gate. It's died down a bit, but Hakkan is still a little on the rocks because it's the new "gold farm" raid that people haven't practiced nearly as much as Brel in the past. It will take time before nobody wipes on a stupid mech.
What I hate the most about Akkan is that, in G4, people place the worm in the back but the camera angles in the way that walking back is unnecessarily hard.
back again with a banger of a video! i agree with hakkan being jail nowadays, same thing happened to hbrel g4 on thae release - once a raid gets taken out of the 'endgame' rotation, the most seasoned players move on and you're left with undergeared alts or people who are newer to the game, making for less smooth runs. i personally just run nakkan even on my 1610 alts; i dont find the extra 2.5k gold to be worth the guaranteed jail that is hakkan.
Gate 3 Akkan has the same diff spike as Gate 4 Brel Gate 3 Brel is amazing then Gate 4 comes and everyone just turns to crap Gate 2 Akkan is decent IMO then Gate 3 comes and everything just halts lol what makes the raid even harder is your own team members.
5:03 the hashtag pattern glows the floor like the pizza pattern for a second. That's how I can tell when it's about to happen. I practice it in solo mode when I run my alts.
not going to lie even i saw that worm miles away but terms of improvements honestly either a giant bright yellow ! or they just make a it flash a perma emote if the players are that tunnel vision. janitor duty honestly with the engraving support dont know why people dont just swap to a def build to get it done and just let the other 7 dps do the work since your works done. stars and hex pattern this mech i think the explosions shouldnt knock you as far away just a small push back would of worked fine. the ax spawn that one i think the should move up the spawn placement. like 1 o'clock specifically you can just get knocked up and thrown into the that ax spawn position just cause the explosion pattern détente relatively fast on spawn if unlucky cause your also typing the shape if you didnt memorize the X star telegraph. i still didnt memorize it cause i play breaker and i just go flex and help the weakest member stagger. that one i think needs some changes due.
Laser damage on statue mech G3, maybe laser can start from low damage and give you debuff over time that stacks and increase the damage of the beam unless you let it run out, instead of plain reducing damage and make the mechanic completely useless on a support awakening; and telegraph on the # pattern could be better for new players as well, aside from that I would not change anything else as well. I'm not playing much recently, I'm on EUC tough and the playerbase average skill level is really going down the drain lately(a little bit prior to echidna release onward actually), or at least the people that I find in pugs, overall everyone I find is playing like a donkey with some rare case of a normal human being, so tldr I've had problems in almost any raid not only Akkan, that's basically the biggest reason I'm not playing much as well.
People/pugs should start doing G1-2 hm G3 nm like old brel when brel was kinda an entry point for new players/alts on ilvl. Almost no gold loss (1500 less) and 80% less jail potential. Also the issue is 1600 people with poor geared gems when i remember back then on 1600 u were rejected if u were on full 7s. I know its clearable but lets be real, people need to throw darks/atrros and even rotate jani cause theres no way one jani can do all gate with pugs dps. Still, I agree with you on Akkan being nerfed, they haven't touched the raid since launch here on the west and statues or even other patterns does insane damage, at least on hardmode
I do agree that pulses and lazers doing insane damage during the statues mech is not really adding much to the fight, so would be nice if they tuned this part down. But everything else I dunno - not needed really? The main reasons these jails are happening is that new/returning players who filled in the slots in these lower level raids don't know how to dps properly and supports have very little clue what they're supposed to be doing resulting in greatly decreased party performance. When you lack damage you get to see more and more funny patterns and for people who were not really proficient with patterns to begin with this is basically a death sentece. It's always possible to nerf the raid to the gound, but is it really needed? People will have to learn to dps/play supports eventually, so might as well learn it here, before Thaemine wiped the floor with them.
those problems i only expirienced when the raid came out. Nowadays i dont see any of those and the only thing i agree about is the lanthern in g3 and that nobody wants to do it, but appart from it everything else is fair and the boss gives you enough time to react to each and every pattern.
It's not even the janitors fault most of the time, the green shit spawns faster if you're team has more stacks. The more people you have in the raid eating patterns and not doing pizza properly, the more shit you're gonna have on the ground.
Yeah i gave up on hAkkan about a week after echidna came out. Too much jail and even outside of deaths people just aren't doing damage (even in 1610 lobbies). Nerfs probably wouldn't be so bad considering it's going to be 4raids behind in september.
what are the odds of this arriving on my timeline when I literally had by far the hardest jails of my last weeks gold earners being fucking akkan hardmode. People make this so hard, ive lost hope in doing it on my alts. only doing akkan normal for the sake of my sanity
the problem with hard akkan are the pugs greeding damage when they have the green tether, especially when the arena in the middle is filled of nothing but green poops and everyone starts getting feared and wipe. THEY never ever pay attention and respect the mechs
I have 2 characters left in Akkan HM level, and I just say F it and go normal mode. The extra gold is just not worth the jail potential. I know in NM I can carry a half dead party, but I can't do that in HM on some low investment alts.
Yeah I see my low level friends kinda getting jailed in akkan, you know all the veterans are far past the point of akkan so the only player doing hard akkan or even normal are the mokokos/trash ones, unfortunately. + try Brel right now, it will probably be the same, since it's almost a year that veterans moved away from her
And how are they supposed to learn when ppl like you gatekeep them 24/7 or swear on their mothers after 2 fails? Not everyone has the time or wants to watch guides 10 times before going into a raid... So why don't you just help those ppl to get good at the game rather than complaining about them - that way you'll have less players jailing you and some of the newer players are might not instantly turned down by a PvE community that manages to be more toxic than any PvP community...
doesnt this happen every single time honing has been buffed? It's only natural for a person that doesnt know their class (push/ paralysis immune, stagger, weakpoint, main dmg spell, rotation in general) to come and die in Akkan. now that you get to 1580 basically for free its bound to happen. It will just be some weeks before ppl know their classes again from my experience of running HM ppl are just dying to pattern that are already there in NM the phase 2 slime and pizza. They wouldve goofed in nm as well, its just that in HM its more punishing because youre closer to ilvl. But i do agree the shapes mechanic is kinda bs its just -1 pot every time even when you play it almost perfectly, idc so much but its still annoying
Ppl have to prioritize placing worm at 5 /7 and not greeding him. Its always ppl doing like 7m spacebarring through black fog and placing the worm somewhere dumb. To that end that glaivier trolled you guys in your clip. Everyone else positioned away from the worm but they jumped on top of it even though it was pulsing a diff green from the rest of the ground. That was their fault tbh. Ppl just gotta look at their feet. Agree on the quickness/pulsing dmg of statutes though. If your ping diffs you there you will die and may not even see the rays hitting you bc the textures take a sec to load. I hate that tbh and agree it should change.
maybe hp nerf so u dont face most shitty normal patterns as the raid is actually hard on 1600 hm as u dont push fast enoughfor major mechs to make him stop his bs
I'm a big fan of revyll, but I respectfully disagree with some of the takes. I completely agree something like lantern mech should be avoided in future raids. I've also noticed the drop in quality of Hakkan pugs since recently. That being said - I don't think this raid needs any other nerfs. It was okay up until a month ago, what about it changed to justify asking for nerfs now? The problem is a lot of new and returning players and people with new chars who have no experience playing them just reached 1600+. This is inevitable and that's why people are gatekeeping - for a good reason! Akkan is one of the easier raids and actually very chill if people know what they're doing. I'm saying all that as a frequent janitor (I have a few 1610-ish chars). So my advice to all is - choose your pugs carefully or play with a static if you can (I know the pain, I don't have a static). And remember - gatekeeping isn't a dirty word!
I stopped doing Akkan around Voldis, at least hard mode. It's just not enjoyable at all. You said it's one of the most balanced raids but I couldn't disagree more, especially since you already mentioned most of the big flaws like the absolute horrendously designed janitor mech. G1 is a nightmare as a front attack and G2 feels very bad as back attacker since half the time Akkan is just chilling in the red ring mech in the middle and you as back attacker can only watch. I think it's my least liked raid in the entire game. Btw. hashtag pattern is actually really easy since it is telegraphed when he does it (whole arena flashes green with these runic symbols) but also anyone who isn't 100% confident on this mech should not take atrophines to the raid, kind of a grief imo.
I really hate g4 giant Akkan mostly due to not being able to have a back to attack on entropy all the time which to me is shit raid design when you're unable to go for MVP in a fair fight against ie. hit master classes, especially because they've been super buffed after destruction checks.
@@supaaznjigga Yeah, I play mostly back attackers and in hidden phase I usually get overtaking just because how badly it is designed. Hope T4 will drastically lower the gap for entropy non-positional damage.
Fully agree with pretty much the whole vid. And frankly, HM brel G3 also became a fking nightmare lately. They need to: - Remove lantern all together - Modify statue mech so that lasers and pulse don't deal damage anymore (just remove the pulse) - Telegraph the hastag pattern - Make the worm one shot mech just spawn a worm randomly somewhere when he raises his hands instead of having to drop it.
Since there is no vertical progression tied to Hard Akkan, I just don't understand the need to nerf it like Hard Theamine/Hard Volids/Hard Echidna which all have vertical progression tied to them.
Nope, its actually really easy. But people are slacking with core mechs and tend to start ignoring them being tired of whatever they did before. People need to concentrate a little and avoid getting hit by random mechs. Meter gain is to be avoided - if people do that, less puddles spawn, less people get stunned and dmg uptime grows on its own. Just be clean guys!
I totally agree man I was able to beat all 3 gates with 30 gear score and all party members dead using the guitar hero controller with my feet. 🤓 To be honest they need to make all attacks one shot and also if you die they should also cut off ur hand irl...
@@JeyJ24 nah back then everyone was dodging patterns and even flat 1600 players were doing decent damage. Now the majority of people left in akkan are not doing good damage while not dodging his attacks.
Stop crying bro, some ppls just want do raids and i dont enjoy when raids can be done by 2yo baby, if u are jailed, learn the mechs and spend some time in solo mode OR WATCH VIDEOS IN RUclips

i agree with hakkan being jail nowadays, same thing happened to hbrel g4 on thae release - once a raid gets taken out of the 'endgame' rotation, the most seasoned players move on and you're left with undergeared alts or people who are newer to the game, making for less smooth runs.
i personally just run nakkan even on my 1610 alts; i dont find the extra 2.5k gold to be worth the guaranteed jail that is hakkan.
Gate 3 Akkan has the same diff spike as Gate 4 Brel
Gate 3 Brel is amazing then Gate 4 comes and everyone just turns to crap
Gate 2 Akkan is decent IMO then Gate 3 comes and everything just halts lol
what makes the raid even harder is your own team members.
5:03 the hashtag pattern glows the floor like the pizza pattern for a second. That's how I can tell when it's about to happen. I practice it in solo mode when I run my alts.
???
When akkan TP midle, if he face south it s skulls, if he faces north it s +#, simple as that
Solo raids are the futureeee
not going to lie even i saw that worm miles away but terms of improvements honestly either a giant bright yellow ! or they just make a it flash a perma emote if the players are that tunnel vision.
janitor duty honestly with the engraving support dont know why people dont just swap to a def build to get it done and just let the other 7 dps do the work since your works done. stars and hex pattern this mech i think the explosions shouldnt knock you as far away just a small push back would of worked fine. the ax spawn that one i think the should move up the spawn placement. like 1 o'clock specifically you can just get knocked up and thrown into the that ax spawn position just cause the explosion pattern détente relatively fast on spawn if unlucky cause your also typing the shape if you didnt memorize the X star telegraph. i still didnt memorize it cause i play breaker and i just go flex and help the weakest member stagger. that one i think needs some changes due.
For anyone struggling with HARD Akkan. Please go normal =) Normal exists for a reason. Hard is meant to be hard
The raid is fun I learned how to be a cleaner because nobody does it well and my runs got smoother.
those problems i only expirienced when the raid came out.
As a resident janitor, too many parsing players are the issue. I have to do extra clean up because people aren't dodging patterns.
i gave up hard modes from brel and on.. only doing normal modes
Yeah i gave up on hAkkan about a week after echidna came out. Too much jail and even outside of deaths people just aren't doing damage (even in 1610 lobbies). Nerfs probably wouldn't be so bad considering it's going to be 4raids behind in september.
Jailing is mainly cuz everyone that does not know the raid can have a char that looks like he can
i straight up don't do akkan unless my guild calls for a run with mostly guildmates - if i really want the gold i'll do solo mode at that point
what are the odds of this arriving on my timeline when I literally had by far the hardest jails of my last weeks gold earners being fucking akkan hardmode. People make this so hard, ive lost hope in doing it on my alts. only doing akkan normal for the sake of my sanity
you think akkan hm is max security prison? wait till you see the more of normal echidna...
this is why when i had 1600 characters
could not catch me dead in akkan only solo screw the missing gold xdd
the problem with hard akkan are the pugs greeding damage when they have the green tether, especially when the arena in the middle is filled of nothing but green poops and everyone starts getting feared and wipe. THEY never ever pay attention and respect the mechs
and might i add that some people still have no clue how to dodge the tic tac toe patterns
+ try Brel right now, it will probably be the same, since it's almost a year that veterans moved away from her
even guardian bosses get spicy if youre unlucky. ppl just dont read nor learn. thats what happens when smilegate gives shit for free
It will just be some weeks before ppl know their classes again
from my experience of running HM ppl are just dying to pattern that are already there in NM the phase 2 slime and pizza. They wouldve goofed in nm as well, its just that in HM its more punishing because youre closer to ilvl. But i do agree the shapes mechanic is kinda bs its just -1 pot every time even when you play it almost perfectly, idc so much but its still annoying
LOL g2 theme is a banger
Akkan is ez af, time to buff player brain i guess
i gatekepp harder for akkan more then any raid right now
G2 throwing the skulls... I play on controller and this is impossible... gave up on lobby, but I cant even do it on solo
I avoid Akkan at all costs. I only run Akkan if I have people that want to do it, where we can just 4 man carry if everyone dies.
maybe hp nerf so u dont face most shitty normal patterns as the raid is actually hard on 1600 hm as u dont push fast enoughfor major mechs to make him stop his bs
And remember - gatekeeping isn't a dirty word!
yes akkan is a terror
Hope T4 will drastically lower the gap for entropy non-positional damage.
i feel u we b jailed in g3 normal hahah
I guess theres nothing new, akkan is the new valtan, too many new players running it
Fully agree with pretty much the whole vid.
And frankly, HM brel G3 also became a fking nightmare lately.
They need to:
- Remove lantern all together
- Modify statue mech so that lasers and pulse don't deal damage anymore (just remove the pulse)
- Telegraph the hastag pattern
- Make the worm one shot mech just spawn a worm randomly somewhere when he raises his hands instead of having to drop it.
Since there is no vertical progression tied to Hard Akkan, I just don't understand the need to nerf it like Hard Theamine/Hard Volids/Hard Echidna which all have vertical progression tied to them.
he just wants the game to be easier because he's ass lmao.
Agree it's actually quite easy.
My whole group died after start of hard mode phase, me as a supporter I fell asleep and when came back it was cleared
Never do hakkan with 1600 and lvl7 gems, people are bad they need to be 1610 or 1620
the whole raid is ass
you need one clown taking hits the wrong way to make this more of a chore than it already is
Agreed, we only tolerated it because 1630+ players were boosting through the raid.
@@JeyJ24 nah back then everyone was dodging patterns and even flat 1600 players were doing decent damage. Now the majority of people left in akkan are not doing good damage while not dodging his attacks.
Stop crying bro, some ppls just want do raids and i dont enjoy when raids can be done by 2yo baby, if u are jailed, learn the mechs and spend some time in solo mode OR WATCH VIDEOS IN RUclips
ngl this is just skill issue
Akkan is hard? jesus cryst.....Lost Ark is doomed....infinite grind, the community is the most toxic wana be play like a job kind, Raids most of the them have such cancerous normal patterns that dont even make sense, but players only complain about what they should not complain...Akkan is Hard? haahhahaahha Akkan is one of the easiest LA raids to do mechs as simple normal patterns are simple..even Brell is still harder than Akkan. if you wana nerf something nerf thaemine or Echidna because of the cancerous patterns and mechs full of clutter everywhere with no place to stand...1 guy misses its a raid wipe....that is what is supposed to be nerfed
