You've saved me a lot of money AND pointed me in the direction of World's Finest; all in the same video. Thank you for your service to the comic community. 😅
You are very welcome! And Worlds Finest is easily the best superhero comic out there at the moment. There has not been one single bad issue in the 31 released so far. Superb.
I agree it’s unbearable to read. I gave all my new copies away it was only taking up space. So many other titles this year are trash. I dare you to read the new Night Thrasher series….everyone step back.
Omg! Marvel broke you 😂 But totally agree. The only marvel titles I'm getting are deadpool (weirdly six issues in and still with the same artist and excellent writer), uncanny X-Men, wolverine and X-Men...but most likely only until the crossover finishes. Marvel really have no idea nowadays. Anyway... welcome to DC.
Yeah. It's not good. It's not for me but I do appreciate that there's different style books for all sorts if different collectors. Marvel can't attract that market if those books don't exist. My daughter may enjoy it. She likes comics, just not into Superheroes. Hence why Marvel may be wasting their time. I've not minded most of the X-books but I hear ya. Plus it's always fun to hear people rant! 😅
Would love to hear that your daughter got into comics through one of these X-Men books! We all need a way in, but the whole line Is just soppy and juvenile and thats not something I'm gonna give Marvel money for.
@@geekyolhog I don't blame you one bit. I've been having enough fun with most of them but I see no point in spending money on something that makes you unhappy. I don't buy many Batman books anymore for a similar reason. When the fun stops its time to move on.
You are correct in the assumption their target audience is not the grown-up males. I do think they are targetting the younger audience, lets say 12 to 18 yo. But i really think there are not enough of them readers to keep it sustainable. Comics are too pricey and more of them are probably gamers. And we the older readers are left to suffer this drivel.
Nicely put. If I wasn't so angry thats how I would've said it lol. None of these latest X-Men books are great. A couple are 'ok' but thats about it. It's quite unimaginative writing and also on a juvenile level I find insulting. Marvel had a massive opportunity post-Krakoa and they've blown it by not even thinking about what the core and wider audience might be for 'getting the band back together'. Good examples would be Ryan North on FF and PKJ on Hulk. Adult stories for grown ups, not adolescents running around being adolescent!!
I enjoyed your video, and you have a new subscriber. Personally, I found X-Factor #1 to be just about the worst thing I read this year. Lighthearted, but stupid. You make a ton of very valid points though and I do agree with a large majority of your perspectives on these books. I especially appreciated the perspective around Emma only being in the last page of Exceptional X-Men. However, I didn't entirely hate Exceptional. Admittedly, I skipped both X-Force and Dazzler so I cannot comment there. I do also agree, Uncanny is probably the best one, but I am biased towards Gambit, Rogue, and Wolverine. I found that reading both Uncanny and X-Men together made both books more enjoyable due to the overlap. I'm planning to read them both together with #4 and Uncanny #3, so I'll have to wait a couple weeks before I can get to reading that one.
thats a supremely lucid view on X-Men overall, but I am done spending so much of my money perpetuating this lowest common denominator writing. its trash.
imagine judging me by having one opinion on one crap comic but every single week of the year I publish videos singing the praises of the very best top ten comics out there. Do your homework before you start judging me.
You obviously haven't watched the whole video and don't have a clue what you're talking about. Not every comic can be the greatest and when they are poorly conceived it needs calling out
Crikey I was half expecting you to turn green there
🤣 so sorry. I just snapped reading the latest piece of shit From The Ashes comic!!!! I'm over it now lol 😉

I'm so sorry.I'm weak. I can't accept that challenge...🤣

DC showing the way at the moment. Hurts me to say it but apart from Hulk, Marvel just don't seem to be bothering?

@@DCPatrol definitely. I gave it a go but there a plenty of great books out there (new and old!) to spend money on and enjoy.

I agree. I feel bad saying it but tbh its just shit, the whole lot.

oh wow, haven't seen this angry hog for a long while! will admit I do enjoy you getting on your high horse, hog!!
The major issue I had with X-factor is that cover a was Greg land. I just can’t support anything that supports him
If that's the line you've drawn, its valid!!😉🤣
Tom Brevoort fucking ruined the X-Men. 'From The Ashes' is unreadable garbage, unworthy of the classic name.
I think he needs to apologise tbh
imagine being a grown man, and spending your time bi+ching about comic books.
