Hey future er nurse !
I decided to make a video of tips and pointers of how to make it in the ER as a new grad er nurse. Just a little background about me- I have been a nurse for 5 years, ER nurse for 3 years. I went straight from doing an IV speciality clinic (with no absolute bedside skills), right into ER! I was immediately thrown to the wolves needless to say 😂 We all know there is a huge learning curve going straight into a specialty floor and I hope you find this video helpful!
TIME STAMPS:
00:32- prioritize your ABC's
01:44- do not be afraid to ask for help
02:41- have the ability to let stuff go
03:43- do not beat yourself up !
05:57- know codes, extensions and locations of critical items
07:35- develop a thick skin

it gets easier as an ER nurse- its go go go balls to wall busy. just remember nursing is a 24 hour job so whatever you don't get done the next shift is there to complete.
