What makes this even scarier for the iguana is most lizards cannot breathe while running because they use the same muscles to do both. So... he did all that holding his breath.
An iguana can hold its breath for over an hour and can survive under water for over 30 minutes. Obviously they need oxygen to survive but not in the same way humans do.

An iguana can hold its breath for over an hour and can survive under water for over 30 minutes. Obviously they need oxygen to survive but not in the same way humans do.
This is one of the greatest cinematic achievements of the 21st century.
