As Ibrahim sets off for a journey to the east, his secret enemy Ibrahim Celebi will continue being his trouble during their journey. Meanwhile, Sultan Suleiman choses Rustem Aga as his accompany during İbrahim's absence. Rüstem Aga gets in close relationships in harem without losing time.
The Beglerbeg of Algeria Captain Hızır Reis comes to Istanbul on Sultan Suleiman's call. The arrival of him, as known as Barbarossa, creates a great joy both in the city and the palace. He brings odalisques with him that one of them stands for turning everything upside-down.
Sultana Hatice makes a harsh decision about Nigar Kalfa with the agony of betreyal. Meanwhile, Ibrahim has another plan for Nigar.
Ibrahim gets ambushed on his harsh journey to east. Prince Mustafa arrives to Sanjak of Manisa. He doesn't hesitate showing all his power as an emperor beginning from his arrival.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I agree with the first part but not the second one. Saying that both of them are same is quite insulting to Hürrem. All she ever did was either to protect herself/family or it was reactive. Mahridevran always did whatever she did in order to selfishly benefit herself. Her actions always harm others.

She's so power driven, she's very selfish and spoilt, she only thinks about her position. She wants to control and rule everything, she destroys anymore that gets in the way of her great ambition.
Gulfem is the nicest of them all, what's her crime? She even defies Suleiman's commands regarding his late mother's chamber.
What did Mustafa do to her? She wants to kill him, he's very nice and humble, loves his siblings but Hurrem is out to kill him, just so she can gain power.
Mustafa is the rightul heir to the thrown but Hurrem is out to murder him.
I pray I never meet a manipulate person like Hurrem, she is no role model.
Having said that I don't like any of the treachery the others have committed.
I feel sorry for Mahidevran, she was deprived of Suleiman's love for yrs.
Exposing the truth isn't always a good thing, Hurrem didn't expose the affair of Ibrahim to protect Hatice, she did it deliberately for the downfall of Ibrahim. But in the process she broke a family.
Who can show more ambition than Meryem Uzerli acting as Hurrem? Magnificent
She is just great. Did she do other Historical film? I also really like Hatice (the actress) I think she must be like a living Mona Lisa.
Meryem Uzerli lived the character of Hurrem ❤ and was the true queen 👑

Nigar has some nerve asking Mahidevran to help her. What is she thinking? In the beginning she was my favorite charachter. Sad how she turned out. But, I guess it's not surprising in a system such as they had. And Ibrahim didn't help things either.

Hatice lost it here. Ibrahim cheated on his own will and Nigar had a crush on him ever since he choked her or something. Hurrem only used Nigar AFTER she learned she had an affair.

this is only happen in drama or fiction story like this series. In real life, there is no women who have same level with Hurrem during that time.
The show is not 100% based on real life. They wanted to create drama to make it more watchable. Hurrem sultan was chief consort and legal wife of sultan suleiman. After she earned this position, it was said that she never bowed down to anyone except her husband. And suleiman never slept with anyone else after marrying hurrem. So, most of the things shown here are fictional.
Hurrem is not evil. She did not cause Ibraham to cheat. In fact Niger betrayed her more than once. Payback. And Hurrem should have told Sulieman instead and let him handle it.
Especially when she had that complicated trap set for mahidevran and the valide in order to cast blame on her to leave the harem and nigar foiled it -_-

and i love the introduction and title video of the first two season more than this one but this is still not bad, also the title music is something else, they nailed it with that one❤🔥
edit : 10 mins into the episode and i can already tell this season is so much better in terms of direction, interiors and colors, not that the earlier seasons didnt have good direction but s3 feels like a level up in most terms. also i dont know if it was intentional or not but the color psychology is well implemented in this show. s1 an s2 is full of vibrant colors, warm filters but as the show proceeds further in s3 everything takes up a darker, greyer color, the clothes, the interior, the faded, white-ish filter everything esp in s4 sort of signifies the winter of suleiman's dying reign.
ps: i hate hurrem's wig, that's not her signature red hair 😤

Hurrem knew that she needed that power to ensure the survival of her children. Period. Suleyman’s love was pathetic and deep down she knew that. They kidnapped her. Killed her family. Brought her to the palace and presented her as a gift to Süleyman. She couldn’t just say “NO!” Why, because she’s a slave and slaves have no rights. I’d tell him anything he wants to hear too if it means I survive, thrive, and prosper. By being laying with his obviously feeble mind, she gained her actual freedom. It’s unfortunate that her children weren’t truly free since they’re dynasty members.
Is it just me or has the screenwriting gotten bad?? Like it feels off after episode 63. The Hatice plot-line is really odd. Like, it doesn't quite make that much sense for her character. It's like the writers were trying to grasp at ideas on how to make the women turn on Hurrem again. Same with Hurrem. She'd never explode like that in the presence of her children, nor outright disrespect Gulfem like that. She'd be more clever and discreet than that. Plus the Ibrahim plot-line is weird, too. Nothing makes sense. Feels really sloppy. :\

I really enjoy this show. That being said, they are such treacherous b's. And they blamed Hurrem from the beginning for everything. But, I sort of understand where Hurrem is coming from. If her child didn't sit on the throne, they'd all die. Mahidevran would have made sure.

Reality check is important too . We too knew that how cruel was the king and rule system not only in asia but also in other continents. Beside ,the drama is not protagonist. Public should be aware not to act as story . This story not only describes ottoman situations but also bar-e-sagheer part . The old Mongolian and chinese rule was more cruel than this one .
